Missing

TYLER

I heard yelling, as if someone was screaming at someone to shut up over and over again. I jumped out of my bed and ran out of my cabin, realizing that everyone in camp was awake, listening to the screaming that was coming from Zeus' cabin. Brandon, who'd been walking into camp borders, ran into the cabin and I caught a glimpse of what was happening just before he shut the door behind him. It was Samantha. She was the one screaming and not only that, but she was levitating in her sleep. Sophia stood beside me, holding my wrist with tears in her eyes. She stared up at me as she sniffled, turned back to Zeus' cabin and then back to me.

"I-is she going to be okay?" she asked, sniffling.

"It's Samantha," I answered, hearing crashes from inside the cabin and a lot of screaming. "She's always okay."

No one had dared to speak after that or to even move. We must have spent and hour or so outside, waiting. It was seven when the doors finally opened and out popped a very worried, pale and tired Brandon. He was holding Samantha who struggled to keep her eyes open. The space inside the cabin behind them was wrecked. Brandon held his sister gingerly and sat down on the small deck of the cabin. It was quiet, terribly quiet.

"Samantha-" Tony began, just to be cut off.

"Everyone needs to go eat. Something happened last night." Brandon said, what color left draining from him.

We all filed into the dining pavilion, curiosity hanging over everyone like some invisible blanket. I'd taken my seat at my table with Sophia. Everyone in the dining pavilion had eaten in silence, wondering what Chiron and the two children of Zeus were discussing. We were also all wondering if Samantha was going to be okay. After ten minutes of waiting and having no answers, we still had no answers but they blessed us with their appearances. Chiron was the first to walk in, followed by a very tired Samantha and a very worried big brother, Brandon. Samantha said nothing as she walked to her table. She didn't even eat. She just leaned her head on her brother while he ate and stared blankly at the wall in front of her. I had an answer.

Samantha wasn't okay.

By the time everyone had finished eating, Chiron stood and cleared his throat. We all turned to the centaur, waiting for his words. He motioned for Samantha to come beside him and she slowly went. Chiron, looking sympathetically at the girl to his right, began to give us our answers.

"Last night Samantha was visited by another one of her premonitions. Most of you don't know, but as long as we've had Samantha, she's has two prophetic dreams. Both of them have come true, which leads us to believe that this one will, too. Samantha believes that Sophia's going to go missing and that we all need to be keeping her guarded. She also needs to find two children outside of the camp. She-" Chiron looked at Samantha and she nodded, urging him to go on. "She wants to go and find these two kids alone. In Alaska."

Gasps sounded everywhere in the camp, Tony and Katelynn stood up quickly at either of their tables. The twins had to. I looked down and noticed that so had I.

"No way, Samantha." Tony said, his voice cold.

"I'm going alone. It's dangerous." was her only reply.

"That's exactly why you aren't going alone!" Katelynn snapped, looking at her pleadingly.

"Brandon, tell her she's not going alone." Jason said.

"I can't. She said she needs to do this on her own." Brandon said, quietly.

"And I said Tyler was a bad brother? Boy was I wrong." Jason said, glaring.

Brandon looked like he was about to smite Jason but Perry had appeared out of no where and already pinned the twin against the wall.

"You don't understand. We can't stop her from going. Apollo is encouraging her to go alone. It's a request from a god, we can't intervene. Are we bad brothers, too?" he asked, deathly calm.

Harvey stood behind him, waiting. Samantha stood quietly. I couldn't take it anymore.

"Samantha, you aren't really going alone, are you?" I asked, my voice small.

"Yes." she said all too quickly.

And that was that. No one else argued or questioned her decision. Perry released Jason and he along with Brandon and Harvey walked over to their sister and pulled her into a hug. They hugged for two minutes and thirty-six seconds. When they broke up the hug, everyone began dispersing in such a large crowd that it was hard to even pinpoint everyone. I walked to the beach and sat there, wanting answers.

None came.

Sighing, I walked back to my cabin and looked around, not seeing Sophia.

"Sophia!" I called out, searching everywhere. I couldn't find her.

I ran out of my cabin and into Jacob.

"Whoa, whoa, what's wrong?" he asked, Jason behind him.

"Where's Samantha?" I asked, my head spinning.

"Why?" Jason asked, eyeing me.

"I can't find Sophia. She's not in the cabin."

"What?"

"Sophia's gone."
