Hey guys! It's me, with a new, long awaited chapter!

I know, I should probably explain myself, but the truth is, that I just lost inspiration for a while, and couldn't think of anything to write. Eventually, the need to write a new chapter just drifted to the back of my mind, and I totally forgot about this story.

I feel really bad for it too. What with having all of these amazing followers, I felt that I had let you guys down, like I was neglecting you.

Well not anymore. I've officially made myself a promise, so I'll make it to you as well.

No matter how long it takes me, and no matter how many blocks I have to climb over, I will finish this story, and never, ever forget it again. And all of you can hold me to this promise.

So anyway, I hope you enjoy this new chapter. I wrote it to give some insight on a questionable decision earlier on in the story, so give it a try.

Thank you guys for everything. I love you all for being so loyal to this story, even when its author is a terrible person.

Now, without further ado, If They Returned, Chapter 11

DISCLAIMER: In my time away from this story, I, sadly, have not obtained ownership of Harry Potter, it still belongs to Queen Rowling.

Ignore the line break. IGNORE IT!

The next morning, Harry was woken abruptly form his slumber by a loud crash that emitted from the first floor followed by a loud, "SIRIUS!"

To many, this would be seen as an inconvenience toward their sleep, but Harry saw it as a beautiful reassurance. It reminded Harry that everything that happened yesterday was real. His parents were back, he had a godfather, and he had a home.

With these delightful thoughts in mind, Harry sprung out of bed and ran out of his new bedroom, tripping on his oversized bottoms on the way out.

As quickly as he could, Harry bolted down the stairs and sprinted toward the sound of the earlier crash.

Harry soon found himself at the entrance of a very large kitchen. It was larger than the Dursley's, but even with the size it felt homey and comfortable. Harry spotted his mother, father, and Sirius standing in front of the cabinets drinking some morning tea. Happily, Harry walked over to them, eager to spend as much time as possible with his family.

James was the first to greet Harry, smiling and giving him a soft, "'Morning son, sleep well?"

Harry nodded in response, and stared at his godfather.

"Hey there Prongslette, you probably really don't remember me. I'm your godfather, Sirius Black." Said Sirius, happily sticking out a hand, which Harry readily shook.

"Sirius, I told you, my son will not be called Prongslette." Lily said with amusement.

"You just said that that wouldn't be his legal name, you didn't say nothing about it being a fond nickname." Sirius responded with a twinkle of mischief in his eyes and in his voice.

James broke into a fit of laughter and looked at his wife gently, "I'm sorry, but he got you there, love."

Lily, ignoring her cackling husband turned around and smiles at Harry.

"Would you like some tea darling? Maybe some breakfast?" She asked softly, beaming at Harry as if he were the light of her life.

Harry grinned at his mother and responded with a soft, "Yes please."

"Wow Prongs," said Sirius, "didn't know your kid would be so polite."

"You have to remember, Sirius, he's Lily's son too."

"Ah, yes that does make sense."

Harry watched as his mother simply rolled her eyes before leading Harry over to a table at the end of the kitchen.

"Go ahead and get seated, while I prepare breakfast for you." Lily said kindly, as if she had been doing this for years.

Harry took his seat, and contently listened to his family's conversation.

"This really is amazing, Prongs," Sirius said, sipping his tea, "You and Lily are back, I'm a free man, and Harry is a wonderful young man ready to be taught a few lessons in pranking."

"I agree, this is great. I'm happy to get this second chance. I get to raise my son, like I was always meant to." James agreed heartily, turning his head slightly to glance at Harry.

"It's astounding to me, though," Sirius continued, "after everything you told me about how Harry was treated with those muggles, I find it incredible that he hasn't become bitter and mean toward the world. Although, even more inconceivable is the fact that you forgave her Lily. After everything she put your son through, how could you do it?"

Lily turned from her cooking and looked at Sirius with a thoughtful expression, "I'll admit, it does seem quite out there. She flat out let her husband abuse my son, so how could I even think about forgiving her? But the way she broke, the way she cried… I could feel the sincerity of it all. I honestly think that she regrets it. So even though I am still furious that my son was hurt by that family, I wanted to give her another chance, I… I just wanted to have my big sister back."

"And what about that Vernon bloke?" Sirius asked seriously (Please don't start with me on the pun, it couldn't be helped.)

"He is another story all together. I have never been fond of the man, so he will never, ever be redeemed in my eyes."

"Can we prank him then?" James asked his wife excitedly, a mischievous smile creeping onto his features.

"No you most certainly cannot. Any attack on Vermin will only result in creating a mess for us and them."

The smile that had been forming on James' face fell as he pouted and sat down beside Harry whispering a soft, "Party pooper" under his breath.

Harry held back a chuckle, but smiled at his father, who gave him a wink. Not five minutes after, Lily came to the table with five plates of food.

"Sirius, maybe you should go wake Remus." Lily said hesitantly, as if pondering a bad idea.

Sirius sprung to a military attention stance and saluted Lily before bounding of toward whichever room Remus was staying in. It was only a couple of seconds before a loud, enraged scream could be heard followed by laughing and the sound of feet pounding on the stairs.

"Oh, I should have known Sirius would do something over the top and annoying," Lily said with regret, though her smile gave away her amusement.

Sirius came sprinting back into the kitchen and quickly sat down in the seat across from Harry, he was still smiling and laughing like a mad-man, but no one could understand why. That is, until Remus tumbled into the kitchen sporting a bright shade of orange in his hair.

"Sirius, I'm going to kill you." Remus said breathlessly. Although he looked angry enough, Remus, Harry noticed, had the same mischievous twinkle in his eye that Harry's father and godfather seemed to have.

"Oh dear," Lily said, amused, "What did you do to him Sirius?"

"Isn't it obvious flower? I told him to get up or I would turn his hair orange, and when he refused to get up, I did just that."

"Nice one Padfoot," James congratulated his friend, "and Remus, just sit down and eat. You can't kill your best friend on an empty stomach after all."

"Prongsy, don't encourage him. He'll really do it."

"I know he will. And while he's busy killing you, I'm going to be shopping."

"Shopping," Remus inquired, "what for?"

Before James could respond, Lily spoke up.

"Harry needs some nice clothes that are actually his size," She said, "so James has volunteered to go shopping with him while we clean up this house and prepare for dinner with my sister."

Remus choke on his food at the mention of Petunia, banging on his chest to clear away the food that had lodged in his throat. Sirius, on the other hand, looked terrified.

"Will she be bringing the whale with her?" He asked cautiously, apparently, everyone had met Vernon Dursley, and none were too fond of him.

"No, the invitation is for Petunia alone. Vernon and his son wouldn't be caught dead in this house anyway, even if I had invited them."

"Sirius let out a sigh of relief before saying, "Good, I honestly don't know how I would be able to control myself around the man that blatantly abused my godson."

"You and me both mate," James said sincerely, "except Harry is my son, not my godson."

"Wow, great observation skills there Prongsy." Sirius said with sarcasm dripping from every word.

"Oh shut up Pads."

Lily looked at her watch before looking at James and Harry.

"You two had best hurry up and eat so you can get going, I don't want you out all day. I'll need both of you to help finish preparations here at home." She said sternly.

"Sure Lils, we'll be back in time to help you out and get everything ready, won't we Harry?" Said James, nudging his son in the arm.

"Oh, um, yeah. We'll be sure to be back soon mum." He said, trying to sound as convincing as he could. He didn't know why, but something told him that this shopping trip wasn't going to be a quick one.

"Good, now finish eating and go get changed."

"Yes ma'am," chorused the Potter boys before the two dug into their food with a renowned vigor, excited to get going and spend some quality father son time together, for the first time in forever. (I couldn't help it)

Just another line break. Don't mind me.
