Misguided Light
Chapter 2
The sounds of blasters echoed through Tantive IV. Princess Leia Organa quickened her pace as she attempted to hide from the incoming Imperial troops. The Executor chased Leia for several days now.Merely four days ago she had received her mission and two days ago, Vader and his fleet took an interest.
Leia clutched her blaster in one hand and her other hand she held the plans for the Death Star, the Empire's ultimate weapon. She attempted to look as calm as possible as she pushed past other people that were trying to find some means of escape.
Suddenly, an idea struck the princess. Her mother's droids where standing in the hall just across from her. Artoo was clever little droid and had handled missions just a difficult. The young lady pulled out her comlink.
"Artoo, met me near the escape pods. I have a mission for you."
oOoOo
Being on the Executor always promised some form of adventure. Luke watched from a view port as a rebel ship was brought in. This was supposed to be the ship that had the Death Star plans on it. It didn't look very menacing, in fact, it was quite a pathetic ship to use for a mission. Luke always preferred starfighters.
The young force user narrowed his eyes as he saw an escape pod launch, falling towards the desert planet below. There isn't anyone on the escape pod. Perhaps…
Luke was pulled out of his musings by the sound of a door opening behind him. It was his father.
"Hello. Do you have any idea where the plans are?" Luke questioned.
"I have no new leads. I have come to inform you that I shall be busy for the rest of the day. You will have to eat without me."
"Gee, I forgot how time consuming interrogations could be," Luke said sarcastically, but with a ring of reproach.
"I don't have time to have an ethical debate with you, son. I was just here to tell you that you will have to eat alone tonight. Now, if you are done wasting my time, I have a rebellion to destroy," and with that, the dark Sith lord swept out of the room.
Luke glared at his father's retreating back and called out, "Nice talking to you!"
The young Skywalker huffed and folded his arms. All teenagers had issues with their parents but Luke thought that he should get an award for putting up with a moody Sith lord for his entire life. Grumbling over the unfairness of life, the young man turned back to the window.
It just didn't add up. Surely the rebels knew that any escape made via escape pod would be suicide. But the escape pod had no life forms. It was the only one that had been activated. So unless the Rebels were dumb enough to put the plans inside the pod…
"Force," Luke muttered, "They are more desperate than I thought." With that, the blond Force user hurried out of the small room. He pulled out his comlink and called up the only one that was sure to listen.
"Captain Piett, please prepare a TIE fighter for me. I have something to look into."
oOoOo
Leia had been told her whole life not to hate people, not to act on anger, but being marched to the second in command of the Empire seemed like a circumstance in which Leia would handle things her way.
As she neared the dark lord's presence, her political mask settled on her face, evening out her features into an expression of outrage and confusion. Hopefully, with the help of the Force, the Sith would be fooled.
"Darth Vader. I should have known. Only you would have been so daring to-" Leia was cut off as the dark man interrupted her.
"Princess Organa, I am sure that you have rehearsed this several times and your excuses are most likely some what believable, however I am not in a good mood so I suggest you tell me where the Death Star plans are now!" Darth Vader's eyes cut into her, the vivid blue seemed to stare into her very soul. All thoughts and hope for escape disappeared from her mind.
"I-I don't know what you are talking about," Leia stammered, feeling unprepared for the situation.
"I believe you do know," Darth Vader growled, "and you will tell me what you have done with them or you will be forced to watch every crew member on this ship be killed."
"No! You can't! This is a diplomatic mission! When the Senate hears about this…"
"You are a member of the Rebel Alliance and a traitor," Vader growled, he then turned to the Stormtroopers, "Take her away!"
oOoOo
Luke couldn't believe his luck. He actually managed to land on the desert planet without his father dragging him back by the ear! Darth Vader had always known where Luke was. He was an overprotective parent and Luke had learned from a young age that hiding or running away from his father would only end badly for himself.
The heat from the twin suns beat down on the sand. Most of the natives had taken shelter from the scorching heat. Mos Eisley was an extremely small town to begin with but it seemed like ghost town with the lack of intelligent life. Luke quickly walked over to Imperial outpost and checked out a speeder. His ID gave him the authority to do pretty much what he wanted to.
The speeder was fairly simply to control. Before he set out onto the desert he made sure that he had plenty of water and some basic repair tools. The only weapon he would need was the lightsaber on his belt.
The young Skywalker closed his eyes and stretched out with the Force. The lack of life forms on Tatooine made it easy to listen to his instincts. After a moment, Luke turned his speeder slightly to left and set off into endless dunes.
It didn't take long to spot the golden smudge in the distance. The droid was near a canyon and as Luke flew closer, a smaller, astromech droid was with the other one. Luke pulled up near them and jumped off the speeder.
"Thank the maker! Someone has finally found us!" The golden one cried. The other one made a series of beeps and whistles.
"What are you two doing out here all alone?" Luke questioned.
"Our ship was boarded by Imperial troops. We barely managed to get away alive!" Luke refrained from rolling his eyes. Protocol droids were always so full of themselves. But at least he had proof that these two ad been on the Rebel's ship.
"My name's Luke. I can get you off this rock, if you want, and back to your owner," Luke offered, hoping that he wouldn't have to force them off planet.
"Oh, that would be wonderful! My name is C-3PO. My counterpart here is R2-D2"
"Hello," Luke smiled at the small droid. Artoo started beeping, obviously telling C-3PO something, "What is he saying?"
"He is saying that he can't go with you, that we have a master on this planet. I wouldn't listen to him though, sir. He has been rambling on about some mission for hours now!"
These are definitely the droids, Luke thought. He was about to say something else when the Force sent him a warning. He turned around, his hand closing around the hilt of his lightsaber. Suddenly, out of nowhere, three Tusken Raiders appeared.
Luke's natural instinct was to pull his lightsaber out on them, but he made a grave mistake. He hesitated.
Luke had been taught to hide his heritage his whole life. He was a secret weapon, known only to those that were very high up in the military. Luke had been told countless times to only reveal his power during an absolute emergency, because if someone found out who he was then he would be hunted down by his father's enemies.
And because of all of those warnings, Luke was smacked over the head with a gaderffi. The young man crumpled to the ground, and the world grew dark. Before he lost consciousness, he heard a cry shout from a human, and the distinct sound of a lightsaber activating.
oOoOo
Miles away, Darth Vader screamed in anger. Captain Piett had just informed him that Luke had gone down to the wretched desert planet. The Force was keeping his son's presence from him and Ozzel would soon need to make arrangement for his funeral.
The stupid admiral had sent the ship into hyperspace, regardless of what Piett had told him. Because of the man's stupid mistake, his son was at the mercy of Tatooine's harsh environment.
The Force had been screaming at him to get to his son, but at the same time, his son's presence was being muffled. That could only mean one thing.
Jedi.
Ozzel was going to pay.
A/N: Hey there! Yes, I am alive! I hope this chapter is good enough for all of you. Honesty, I didn't like writing it that much. I am looking forward to writing some real lightsaber action!
I think I need to clarify something's before we charge into the story. Anakin I thinks that Padme is dead. He does not know of Leia's existence, Obi-Wan knows that all of the Skywalkers lived, however, he is unsure of Luke's fate. Padme was told that Anakin died and that Luke is missing. Luke and Leia do not know of each other's existence.
I would like to thank everybody that reviewed, followed or favorite! You are all amazing people! And even if you just read this story, you are awesome too!
There's one more thing I need to ask before we end the chapter. I can update every Sunday if you all want. The chapters will be shorter, but more regular. I might not have time to get them proof read but I can stick to a schedule if that's what you want. Or I could keep doing what I'm doing and posting when I feel like I have a decent chapter. It's up to you guys to decide! If you have any questions please ask!
