Misguided Light
Chapter 3
Obi-Wan learned long ago that life really hated him. With a passion. Currently, he was sitting in his hut watching a rather peculiar young man that had appeared in the desert. Even more peculiar was the two droids that he had been traveling with. And to top it off, the man had a lightsaber on his belt.
As Obi-Wan mulled over the mysterious boy, said boy began to stir. Bright blue eyes opened and blinked into focus. The old Jedi master felt a chill run up his spine as he saw that familiar vivid blue. It can't be, he thought.
"Well, you gave me quite a scare, young man," Obi-Wan said with a smile, as the boy pushed himself up. The former Jedi Knight knew that the best way to gain information from someone was to act as nonchalant as possible.
"Where am I? Who are you?"
"Straight to business I see," Chuckled the older man, "I am Obi-Wan Kenobi and you are currently in my home on Tatooine."
"Wait! You're Obi-Wan Kenobi?!" The boy cried, pushing himself away from him.
"Calm down! I won't hurt you. Can you tell me who you are?"
"No," the boy said it so venomously that Obi-Wan was stunned for a moment.
"Well then. Can you tell me why you were traveling with these two droids?" The Jedi asked, gesturing to said droids.
"I just ran into them," stated the boy, "I don't know who they belong to."
"I don't think you are telling me the whole truth. Believe me, young one, more good will come from us being honest to each other than hiding behind lies."
"Why should I trust you?"
"Well I did just save your life. And if I was going to hurt you I would have done so already."
The boy seemed to consider his words for a few minutes, "Fine. I'm Luke."
Obi-Wan froze, "Luke?" A thousand thoughts raced through his mind. When he arrived at the Lars homestead after ensuring Padmé's survival, he discovered Owen's body. He had died from someone (Vader) Force choking him. It seemed as though Beru had been killed by raiders a few days later. But Luke had disappeared. Obi-Wan had suspected that Vader had found the boy but there was little he could do. He had told Padme that her son had died. He had always assumed that Padme would feel better thinking that her son was dead then at the mercy of the galaxy's second most evil man.
"Were you raised by Darth Vader?"
"Yeah... How did you know?" The boy asked, eyes narrowed in suspicion.
"I knew your father before he was Darth Vader. He was a pupil of mine, a good friend. I know I'm asking a lot of you but you must help me."
"Why should I help you, Jedi?" Luke spat.
"Because of your family."
"My family" Luke repeated. He seemed to be willing to listen now.
"Did Vader ever tell you about your mother?" Luke's face paled considerably at that. He continued to stare up at Obi-Wan in shock. The Jedi took his silence as a sign to continue. "Your mother is a good friend of mine. Her name is Padme Amidala. We had no idea you were alive, Luke. You have no idea how much your mother loves you."
"I thought my mother was dead," Luke said sounding confused.
"I believe there has been a misunderstanding among your family. Your mother is very much alive but she has been in hiding to protect herself. Your mother doesn't know your father is alive," Obi-Wan explained. Luke stared at him then looked away. He was still trying to figure out whether he should believe Obi-Wan or not.
"What would I have to do?" Luke finally asked. Obi-Wan stared blankly at the young man for a second. "To see my mother," Luke clarified.
"Well, you might not like this but your mother is a part of the Rebel Alliance. In order to meet her, you will need to join the Rebels." Obi-Wan watched Luke as the boy considered his words.
"I haven't always liked my father's way of enforcing laws," Luke paused for a second and then continued, "But I despise the Emperor and most of his advisors." Obi-Wan looked hopefully at the boy. "I guess I could look into joining. If Emperor Wrinkly hates them, then they can't be that bad." Obi-Wan chuckled at the last part.
"Well then, young Luke. We should get you to Alderaan." After Obi-Wan said that, R2 started beeping like crazy. "Alright R2, I'll look at that message as soon as we can secure passage to Alderaan."
A/N: Hello there! I'm so sorry for making you all wait! I won't leave you guys hanging for that long ever again! I'm sorry about how short this chapter is. I wanted to post it ASAP. Leia, Han, Padme, and Vader shall be making an appearance in the next chapter.
Just to clear something's up: Luke and Leia won't know about each other for several more chapters. Obi-Wan still doesn't trust Luke 100% so he is protecting Leia incase Luke goes back to Vader. I have the plot of ANH all figured out but after that, the story will become EXTREMLY AU and I'm still trying to figure that all out. Also, Luke is extremely kind and somewhat innocent, so even though he was raised under the Dark Side, he is still very Light. I honestly think that no child of Padme could ever be truly dark.
