CHAPTER VI

With a heavy thud Harry let the stack of books he was carrying fall in the table "Ok guys what do we have?" the green-eyed boy asked to the two redheads sitting in front of him.

"It's pointless mate, we haven't and we won't find nothing, and it's been a week!" Ron exclaimed hitting repeatly his forehead against the table.

"I hate to agree with him but he's right" Ginny let out a sigh "the only way to comunicate with her would be if she wrote something in somwhere but even then we couldn't reply"

"Ginny, Ron" he said waiting for them to meet his eyes "If I've learned something when I entered the wizarding world is that nothing is impossible, I know, I can feel it, there must be a way for us to comunicate with her, it's Hermione Granger we are talking about, our best friend, we've gone through hell and back together and I refuse to let something as insignificant as this to take her away from me, from us" he finished slaming his fist on the table earning a scowl and a "shh" from madame Pince.

"If Hermione were here this would be so much easier" Ginny said resting her head on her arms.

"I bet that if she were here we'd already have the answer, in fact we would be already sending the message!" Ron exclaimed unwrapping a chocolate frog and eating it.

"I know! She would have rolls and rolls of parchment (even a picture) explaining it" Harry said earning a quiet laugh from both redheads.

"She'd even have a list of mistakes on the books" Ginny added with a giggle.

"She'd be like" Ron cleared his throut to imitate Hermione's voice " Seriously how could they allow them to write such things! this is preposterous, I mean were they even paying attention to what they were writing?"

"But Hermione is history! what...what does it matter if they got wrong the uniform that the goblins used on the battle of Whitesplush?" Harry said through fits of laughter recalling the conversation they had on the common room.

"Not" Ron made the motion of flicking his hair around his shoulder with a disbelieving look "Not matter?! What if you were talking about the war with a politician or the ministry! and you said this nonsense? They'll think you're stupid!" He slammed his hand on the table standing up for dramatical effect.

The three teenagers burst out laughing till madame Pince came to their table and shooed them out of her library.

"Man I missed her so much, but don't tell her I said that" Ron said pointing at Ginny and Harry.

"Maybe the answer isn't in the books, after all there's nothing like that written in the books" the youngest Weasly mused.

"I don't know...do you think we should go to Dumbledore's office tomorrow and see if they have found something?" Harry asked scratching the back of his neck.

"Yeah, maybe we are looking in the wrong place" Ron said passing his hand through the stone walls as they walked through the halls. As they passed through the wall where the room of requirements is Ron let out a sigh "Why there isn't a thing like the room of requirements that could...like..give us the answer or send the message to Hermione? or even better take her back?!"

As soon as the words left Ron's mouth both Harry and Ginny came to halt, realization written on both of their faces "Ron you're a bloody genious!" Harry exclaimed throwing his arms around him who awkwardly caught him.

"I am?" He said tilting his head to the side like a dog would do when they're confused.

"Yes, Ron you are!" Ginny said with a broad smile "don't you know what means what you just said?"

"Ron, do you remember what Seamus and Neville said about the room of requirements? it can give you everything you want only if you really need it" Harry said palming Ron's back.

"And we really need to comunicate to Hermione! of course! I really am a genious aren't I?" the freckled boy say with a smug grin. With that the three paced three times in front of the wall before a door finally apeared.

The room was filled with dozen of candles, decorated with Gryffindor's color, a roaring fire that gave the room a nice and cozy feeling and two sets of windows covered wih changing mosaics where situated besides a huge desk. In the desk was a single, long piece of parchment, when the boys and Ginny stepped closer to the desk they saw a small quill with an even smaller bottle of ink.

"So...do we just like write the message or...?" Ron asked looking uncertainly around the room scratching his right eyebrow.

"I guess, otherwise why wouldn't the room show us that there's other thing to do to comunicate with Hermione" Harry answered taking the sit in front of the desk and soaking the quill in the bottle of ink.

"That asuming the room actually send, somehow, the message" Ginny murmured earning a glare from both boys who were about to say something but she held a hand efectively stopping them "Don't misunderstand me, this is our best option, our best chance to actually comunicate with 'Mione and I'm excited about that...but...what if it doesn't send the message or is too late or..."

"There's still some doubts, I get it" said Harry letting out a sigh "That's why there is only one way to find out..."

Hermione rested against the railing in the astronomy tower watching the stars, this night was particularly full, you could see the moon shine illuminating everything underneath and numerous constellations. Watching the sky filled with stars relaxed her, she's been in this time for over a two weeks almost three and she felt like everything has changed, she was changing, but tonight surrounded by the very same stars that has acompanied her since first year she felt the same, the old Hermione, the bookworm, the gryffindor, the brightest witch of her age, the best friend of the boy who lived, the muggleborn, she felt like Hermione Granger.

"This is it, if...if I'm going to remain here in this...period of time, I'm going to change it, perhaps if I play my cards right Harry might have the chance to have parents, Remus won't suffer the way he did, Sirius won't be in Azkaban, Lily and James could survive..."

"So...you wanted to see me" Remus said standing besides her, Lily stood at her left and the rest of the marauders were behind them.

"How long have you been here?" she said not looking away from the sky.

"A while, Sirius and James wanted to see if you were up to something" Lily responded putting a hand on the brunette's arm "What you have to tell us...is important isn't it?"

Hermione smiled bitterly "How can I even start? there's just so much to tell" she turned around meeting the eyes of the three marauders who watched her suspiciously "First I don't want him anywhere near me" she pointed to Peter who looked startled at her blunt statement.

"Sorry honey, he stays" Sirius replied crossing his arms and straightening his shoulders standing at his full height trying to intimidate her.

"What have I done to you anyways?" Peter said quietly averting his eyes from hers.

"What haven't you done yet?" Hermione wanted to say but knew she couldn't, just being in the same room as Peter made her blood boil, he was the reason so many things have fallen apart, bringing back Voldemort being the more important thing in her time at the moment "I have my reasons, look I want to clear everything between us okay? And I want to do it peacefully"

"We are not stupid, we know there's something more to it" James said resting against the telescope near him "You're a Slytherin after all, everyone knows that a Slytherin always-"

"Spare me the speech of how the Slytherins are evil and Gryffindors are not, I don't have time for naivety. I don't trust him so get him out"

"Oh and you trust us?" Sirius said sarcasticly "Yes" her sudden confession made the smug grin fall off his face.

"Why?" James frowned starting to make his way over to her.

"I would answer, if you get him out" She said pronuncing every word slowly, Remus beside her frowned a questioning look written in his face.

"Peter could you please go back to the dorms?" Lily asked apologeticly, her eyes begging for him to leave, she seemed to understand something that obviously the marauders did not.

"But Lilykins! Peter's our friend! you can't let-" Lily glared at him and took a step closer to Hermione "Peter, please"

Wormtail left the room fuming, his face red with rage, mutering under his breath. When they made sure he was really gone Sirius spoke.

"There you made him go, now spill"

"Okay, first I want to give you something Remus" Hermione took out her wand and muttered and actio, a box came flying to her hands from somewhere on the room and opened it revealing seven bottles of a furious red potion "This is called wolfbane, it will help you in the full moon when you have to convert to a werewolf, you have to take one for every day before the full moon...ah! one more thing, it taste horrible" Hermione scratched her eyebrow worring her lip between her lips, that potion was a lot more complicated than the polyjuice potion she made in her second year, sure this one hadn't taken the month the other did but one more move, one ingredient added in the wrong time and she could have had a nasty accident.

If the sitiutation were other she would have laughed at the look on the faces of the marauders plus Lily "A little bit more and their eyes would fall off"

"How...when.." neither of the present could finish the sentence without looking like a gold fish "How long have you know?" Remus asked instead, his eyes filled with fear.

"Honestly? from the very beggining" the brown-eyed witch held up a hand stopping the questions at the tip of their tongues "You weren't obvious, it's just...complicated which leads me to the next topic, you must understand that everything that it's said here have to remain here...what i'm about to tell you...it could ruin everything" she said looking directly at the eyes of the Gryffindors "I made a contract, it will keep you from saying something to someone else other than you and me" from a pocket in her robe she pulled out the contract similar to the one she made in her fifth year for the DA.

"I'm not signing anything" Sirius exclaimed recieving glares from even James "Black, I can promise you that this is not a trick, what I'm about to reveal is really serious"

"I trust you, were do I sign?" Lily said taking Hermione's hand who smiled and put out a needle "I need your blood here"

After Lily and the marauders (James and Sirius were hesitant and promised her that if it was a trap they would make their elves kill her) signed the contract, Hermione rolled it and took a seat in one of the chairs in the room.

"Okay. I think I should start from the beginning...my name is Hermione Granger, not Grace, I was born in 1979 in Oxford, England, I'm a muggleborn and recieved my Hogwarts acceptence letter the summer of 1991" She studied the faces of the gryffindors and sighed waiting for their reaction.

"You're kidding right?" James laughed and smiled bitterly "And here I was thinking this was serious"

"It's true. Look I know it's hard to believe I know there's no evidence of someone time traveling that far in time, and believe me I know about this, in my third year I had a Time Turner and I'm very familiar with time traveling" Hermione said looking straight in his eyes hoping that he could see the truth in her eyes. "maybe this was a bad idea"

"If that's true then how you explain you being here, asuming you're telling the truth that is" Sirius crossed his arms.

"I was going to get to that" she glared "Potter, do you remember when you first bumped into me? I called you a different name remember?"

James frowned he hadn't thought about that for a while, in fact, the only time he gave it a thought was that day when she dropped all her books and he took them to the library "I...yes"

Hermione nodded "Good, then I'm asuming you weren't looking closely and didn't notice the color of my tie" she stated reaching inside a small bag that was near the chair pulling out her Gryffindor tie.

"Where did you get that?" Sirius inmediately asked "You probably stole it from Moony or Lily" James said at the same time.

"How? If I do remember correctly I've never been close to the Gryffindor common room, I'm I wrong?" She turned towards both teenagers who shook their heads "And you know I'm not close to any other Gryffindor"

"You still could have stolen it from an unsuspecting Gryffindor" James pointed out.

"I don't tend to waste my time in petty things like that, besides I spend most of my time with Narcissa and when I'm not, I'm with Lily or Remus"

"So you used your Time Turner to get here?" Lily asked.

"No, the Time Turner I had was actually Mcgonagall's, she lend it to me so I could assist to all my classes, I signed to all the subjects you see and at the end of the year I gave it back to her. Anyways a week ago when I was making my way towards the common room a door apeared, I was curious so I entered, next thing I know I'm 20 years in the past and bumped into you" She said pointing to James "I've been trying to find that room ever since but no matter what I do, it just..." she gestured wildly with her hands and wiped away a tear "I just want to comeback okay? the only reason I'm telling you this is because I need your help"

The silence in the room had become deafining and the tension could be cut with a knife. Hermione sighed and looked at the stars one more time "I know this all sounds like a lie but it's not. Remus" she turned to him with tears in her eyes "I've known you since my third year, you...you have no idea how much you've done for me. You...you saved my best friend if it weren't for you the dementors would have killed him" this time she looked at Lily and then to James, looking at James was both a torture and comforting, she knew that he was not Harry, he couldn't be more different actually, but, physically he was so much like Harry that if she concentrated enough she could see emerald eyes instead of hazel ones, she could imagine in his forehead a scar and it felt like Harry was there with her "I'm sorry Hermione, I didn't want to get you into this. It's just...it's like I am a trouble magnet" he would say to her and she would smile and tell him that it wasn't his fault, that she would not leave his side, that they will get out of this together. Swallowing the lump in her throat she continued "And Sirius...I must admit that the first time I met you I was ready to kill you, again Remus didn't allowed it, after things were cleared up you became family...Sirius I'm so so sorry" she let out a sob "you didn't deserved it...everything that happened to you...you just didn't deserved it! and you still..."

Lily couldn't take it anymore and wrapped her arms around a sobbing Hermione "Shh, Hermione, it's okay" she continued to comfort the girl until the brunette regained strength to even her breathing.

"Look I know you are obviously distressed but...I can't just accept it okay?" Sirius said earning a murderous glare from Lily.

"I know" Hermione brushed away another set of tears "honestly I wouldn't expect anything else from you, in fact, you spoke more with my best friend than with myself but he would always tell me about what you two talked, like when you told him about that mirror that you and James use to communicate sometimes or how much your mother would drive you nuts with her constantly reminding you that you are a pureblood and that you had to act as such, how much you enjoy to annoy and pull pranks on Kreacher, your brother's elf who totally hates you or..."

"Wait how do you...no one knows about the mirror!" Sirius interrumped her turning to James for reassurance but he was met with an equally disbealiving look on James face.

"I told you, I...I know some things" she smiled sadly "and there's so much I want to tell you all but...I can't"

"If what you are saying is true, you do know that the mere fact that you are talking to us, telling us this things...the future you know may not be the same anymore" Lily carefuly said putting a hand in her shoulder.

"Yes. I don't know how long I'm going to be here" the brunette let her head fall "things back home...they are not good. I know that what I'm doing is beyond irresponsable but I have the oportunity to fix some things, things that are important"

"How important?" James quietly asked.

"I'm talking about lives" just when she looked at him dead in the eyes James felt a shiver ran all through out his back "and exactly how we are supposed to help you?"

"You know this castle better than anyone, even Dumbledore! Plus you are brilliant" she gulped "You have a map and I...I need it"

As soon as her words were out the three marauders started a shouting macth with each other and Lily was quite helplessly trying to shut them up "This is not going to be as easy as I thought" Hermione thought feeling the beginning of a headache.

When Hermione finally arrived at the common room she felt exhausted, at the moment the only thing she wanted to do was lay down on her bed and sleep till the next century.

"I see you finally decided to come to the common room" said a cold voice to her left.

"What I do is none of your business" the brunette said with an equally cold voice.

"You are right, but I wonder what would Black think if I'd told her that you lie to her and you were sneaking out with her disgusting blood traitor of a cousin"

"How.." she began to say but was quickly interruped by her interlocutor.

"I followed you" he shrugged "I actually saw all of the marauders but I'll let you know I have a way with words, I can make Black think that you like that Griffyndor scum"

"She wouldn't believe you" Hermione quickly snapped, she took a deep breath and willed herself to calm down. With a new cleared mind she crossed her arms over her chest and let out a tiny smirk "Besides what makes you think she'll actually listen to you? It's your word against mine and no matter how good you are with words she doesn't trust you"

"While it's true she doesn't like me, she does trust me" at the frown on Hermione's face he smirked "It'll serve you right if you remember that you're still new here and you know next to nothing about how things really are here"

"Calmn down Hermione he's trying to play mind games with you" the brunette closed her eyes and took a sharp intake of breath "You might think I'm as stupid as the others but I can see right through your lies"

"What lies Grace? I'm not telling you I'm friends with Black but we do have history" his smirk enlarged "She hasn't told you. Well maybe sometime in the future she'll tell you, if she still trust you by then that is"

"What do you wnat?" she said between gritted teeth "To know what are you up to of course"

"Why do you care? It has nothing to do with you!" she almost yelled "Keep your voice down. If Lily is involved It does concern me"

"Oh god this is even more bizarre! Snape really is in love with Lily. Lily Evans. Lily Potter. Harry's mom!" Hermione really wanted to throw up at the moment "You do know that she...Lily does not feel the same way do you?" as soon as her words were out she regret them if the red in Snape's face was any clue that she has angered him.

"She's my best friend I'm only trying to protect her! If Regulus is right you only mean trouble for her" Snape's outburst confirmed that she has hit the nail but what has actually grabbed her attention was what he said about Regulus.

"What did Regulus tell you about me?" the brunette asked taking a step closer to the greasy-haired wizard "I have a deal for you Snape. Are you in?"

Snape looked her straighted to her eyes for a couple of minutes neither saying a word before the dark-haired boy shook her hand.

Wow I'm deeply sorry for the delay (almost a year!) to be honest it wasn't my intention to delay this so much in fact I wrote the chapter a couple weeks after the last one but I wasn't satisfed so I re-wrote it (I'm still wary about this one) I wanted to update it so much earlier but a lot has happened and I wasn't in the mood to keep writing or fix anything so I'm really sorry for that. Hopefully this won't happen again although I can't make any promise :/

RavenSeeker33: I'll show you what Hermione has in store for the Ravenclaw girl later in the story, next chapter will focus on how the marauders deal with the new info. and the repercussion of Hermione's action in the future :D

RandomPandaProductions: Don't worry Hermione will make her pay, nobody mess with Hermione's friends. Don't worry I think Remus has a lot more in his plate in his head than the posibility of falling for Hermione (besides I'll make sure she's clear about her feelings for him) thanks for reading!

Bene Gesserit: Thank you so much! you don't know how much this means to me :') I'll try to go more in depht with the characters background without making it tedious.

Mercuris: Don't worry she'll get over it (baby steps though) I'm glad that you liked that in the next chapter I'll show more about the future with Hermione's decision of telling the marauders she alredy changed part of the future. Well with Jily James really irritates Lily but that doesn't mean Harry won't be born, I guess you'll have to keep reding ;) And with Tom Riddle we'll see if he makes his appearance there :)

Thanks to masencromwell and GISA103 for reviewing and all of you who follow and favorite this story. You're the reason why I don't give up on this.
