***Thank you all for the fantastic reviews. Sorry it took so long. I just got a job and I just recently lost my grandfather, so I haven't had the time or energy.
Chapter 6: Trust
Drift woke up feeling really groggy and weak. It took his optics a minute to adjust to the darkness of the cave. The only light came from the glowing energon deposits. He slowly sat up trying not to fall over. Looking around he didn't see the predacons anywhere, Predaking included.
"Good morning," a female voice called up to him. Drift looked down and saw Amber sitting on the edge of the water, with her legs sitting in the water.
"Where is everyone?" Drift asked.
"Sixgill heard a couple of Decepticons trying to get down here, so he and Thresher went to go take care of it. Predaking went with. Sixgill didn't want to wake you," she explained, "I decided to stayed here with you."
"How long was I out?" Drift asked.
"Couple of hours," Amber said, "But the bite mark is healed. Just be careful your leg may be stiff for a bit."
"Thanks for your forewarning," Drift said wondering off into thought before noticing something moving in the water, "What is that?"
"That's a sand tiger shark. It must have wondered in here," Amber said with a smile as she put her hand down in the water. The shark came up and gentle nudged the offered hand.
"Impressive looking creature," Drift commented when he got a good look at the shark, "He remains me of the two predacons."
"Well they are technically sharks. Mechanical or not," she said. Drift got up and managed to sit closer to the water next to Amber to get a better look the shark, "Um are you sure you should be doing that?"
"It won't hurt me, because I'm not trying to hurt it and I'm not on its menu," she explained.
After observing the shark for a moment, before it swam off back out to sea. Drift watched the creature till it disappeared, "I defiantly never seen anything like them on Cybertron that's for sure."
***By the sea cave***
"Their gone again," called Kaon as he scanned the water for the predacons. Vos looked to the sky for Predaking, but with no luck as well.
"No. Their still there. Remember their predators and they will think like it," Shockwave said.
Helex came back up from a steep hill down to a bunch of sea caves and rocks. Tarn's voice quickly got his attention when he called out to them, "Any luck?"
"Technically no, but I think one cave could be where their hiding at," Helex explained, "It's more in the ocean. The sharks won't let me go near, so that has to be it."
"Then let's see how close we can get. Shockwave will you be fine up here alone?" Tarn turned and asked the one eyed mech who seemed to be studying pictures that Soundwave took of the predacons on a datapad.
"Yes," Shockwave said not even looking up, "But watch the water's edge. They will be watching."
"Thanks for the advice," Tarn said, "We'll defiantly keep an optic out for them."
DJD started down the rugged path down to the sea cave that Helex found. With each step however, they keep their optics to the water.
***In the Water***
"Thresher, I want you to help Drift and Amber get out of the cave unoticed," Sixgill began as they watched the Decepticons trailing down to the cave where their sister and guest where to their horror.
Thresher listened to his brother and dived down under the surface far enough where he new he could not be seen. Sixgill begain to completely taunt the DJD, by coming up on beach and snapping at them before dragging himself back to the sea if they got if they to close. Almost catching Tarn once or twice.
Keeping them distracted long enough not to see Thresher enter the cave.
***Deeper In the Cave***
The sudden sound of splashing caught both Drift and Amber's attention. Drift drew one of his swords, but relief flooded him once he realized it was only Thresher.
"You may want to save that for the visitors out side," Thresher said when he saw Drift's blade.
"What? They're here?" asked Drift.
"Sixgill is trying to hold them off, but I don't know for how long. Its time to leave now," the hammerhead said.
"Through the front door. Wouldn't they see us?" Drift asked.
"Not if your under the water when we go through the entence," Thresher explained inpatiencely.
"What about Amber?" asked Drift.
"I can hold my breath for quite a bit of time, so I should be fine till we get past the entarence," inturpted Amber.
"Are you sure?" Drift asked her.
"Yeah. I free dive with these guys all the time," she said.
"Come then. I don't know how long Sixgill can hold them off," Thresher said nervously.
Amber wasted no time diving into the water and swimming to the predacon, grabbing onto his dorsal fin. Thresher turned to begin to swim towards the mouth of the cave, with his dorsal and sister still above the surface for the time being. Drift debating on the thought of following the predacon right past the mechs he feared above all others. Then again being corned in the cave be by said mechs wasn't even a thinkable option. With his options limited he went with the option that gave him some protection from the DJD.
As they approached the opening the sounds of the condensing fight got louder and louder. Fear filled each one of them. Drift then noticed Thresher suddenly shook his head up and down out of the water. He watched Amber tighten her grip on the predacons fin and he suddenly dived down. Drift got the hint and followed their lead.
Under the water the light from the sun filled the water as they began to make their way out. The outline of the Sixgill could be seen circling the shore line and occasion jumping out of the water with an open mouth. Most likely jumping at any Decepticon unlucky enough to be too close to the shore line and the cave.
Thresher minded the surface. Keeping close attention to the surface above them. He suddenly turned around sharply when he felt something bump his tail. Only to realize it was just Drift. Just when he turned to continue out to sea a large hand reached down and gripped the large hammerhead's back. Thresher began tossing his head around to try and bite the hand. Amber's leg was pinned between Thresher and the hand. It didn't take her long for her to realize who the hand belonged to.
Tarn held on to the threshing predacon. He began to pull the predacon out of the water, but the shark proved it was going to more of a challenge then he thought it would be. He was just thankful the others were keeping the bigger of the two predacons busy. The only other question he had was, "Where was Predaking?" He could see Drift in the water, but he was more worried about the predacon getting a hold of him at the moment. The pet's teeth couldn't even compare to these creature's razor jaws. He'd seen the damage they could do.
Amber could feel her leg being crushed between her brother and the purple mech's hand. Each time the mech yanked Thresher up out of the water and Thresher then would dive straight back down with equal force. Amber felt her lungs wanting to explode. Her stomach didn't feel to well either from the mechs game of tug of war. The game got worse when Drift joined in and grabbed Thresher, trying to help the hammerhead to get away.
"Look who finally joined the fight. Better late then never," Tarn taunted when he saw Drift attempting to help the the predacon. Tarn felt his grip loosening and frustration taking over. The thing that made his situation worse by Drift being so close to him was not being able to grab him and kill the traitor, made Tarn even more upset.
The sudden feeling of something tiny stuggling under his hand made him turn his attention to the spot he had in his grasp. Tarn smiled behind his mask when he saw who it was. He noticed the human when she was trying to get her leg out from between them. The Tarn suddenly felt a huge weight just push into his back causing himself to be nearly shoved completely on top of the shark predacon and into the water.
A roar from above gave him the hint he needed to know who pushed him. Tarn was just happy that he still had a hold of the predacon, but pissed that he allowed the dragon predacon to sneek up on him.
Predaking circled from above. He saw Tarn struggling in the water. He either still had Thresher or Thresher had him. The light from the setting sun made it hard to tell.
Tarn then felt a sharp pain in his side. He looked down to see that Drift attempted to stab him in the side, but luckly his armored side kept it from going to deep. He saw Drift's optics widen in fear when he realized that Tarn noticed him. Tarn loved that look of fear. Letting go of the small piece of land that he had held onto when he was pushed in, Tarn grabbed Drift and then slammed him into Thresher's head.
As she was trying to hold her breath, all Amber could do was watch in horror as the single mech took on her brother and Drift. After the rough slam she saw Drift trying to back off in the water. On the other hand she felt Thresher's body go limp. She wanted othering more then to scream her brother's name, but she did not dare.
Tarn felt the predacon go limp in his grasp. He wondered if he killed he predacon for a minute, but the thought was quickly earsed when the shark sprag to life and was able to rip away from his grip. He watched as the predacon suddenly crashed into Drift and was shoving him away from the shore and Tarn.
Tarn should of felt frustraited about Drift getting away, but he didn't. He then noticed that Sixgill had directed his attention to him, Tarn decided not to test his luck with the bigger predacon and quickly got out of the water.
The sound of water hitting the ground got the rest of the DJD's attention's. They turned in time to see Tarn crawling out of the water and back onto the rocky shore. Kaon was the first to speak, "The predacons got away. Was Drift with the one that you had?"
"Yes. The predacon shoved him away from my grasp," Tarn explained.
"So you not only did you rattle them up and in the end failed to even capture any of them. Even the former Decepticon," Shockwave's emotionless voice cut in.
"Not quite Shockwave," Tarn said as he turned around, "The predacons and Drift may of gotten away, but I managed to snag a little constallation prize."
Tarn held out a hand holding an exuased and frightened Amber. Tarn added, "One I think they'll be wanting back."
