Part two of this little saga: the storm :o ENjoy 3

The night was warm and humid. The storm was sudden. The world was shaking.

SECONDARYISLAND

As the sun set across the sky and into the ocean- drifting a red streak across the water- the group of five young teenagers corralled themselves on a small island right next to the secondary island. Really it was only a taller part of the secondary island that had been separated by the water washing past it. Now it stood connected by a short wooden bridge that you could only get to in two different ways. You could take the stair that ran through a small shack on the southern end of the island. It was either that or you go over the shack; jumping from rocks to the awning of the shack and then onto the bridge.

Only the boys, who seemed to want to compete at everything, had taken the hard way to the island while the girls took their time on the stairs. By the time the three girls made their way to the end of the small island, the boys had already taken their prospective spots sitting on the bent over palm tree, facing the sunset. Soku, being the first in the line of girls that was closest to the trees, took the seat in between the two boys. Rio wandered to the very end of the cliff before the drop to the water and plopped down with her legs over the side. She smiled back at the group with her grin and Soku smiled back. After spending so long with this girl she found her to be a relief from daily life. She was fearless and fun to be around. Soku didn't know why but that's what she needed in her life after so long.

Kairi was the only one who did not sit. She looked from Soku to Riku and to Sora with a sort of scary half smile half scowl. It took a few seconds but finally Sora looked over to Kairi who hadn't moved and was currently staring at Soku.

"What's wrong Kairi?" Sora inquired after noticing the look on Kairi's face. Everyone looked back at Kairi and she flushed slightly before shaking her head. It's not like she was going to say that Soku had taken her spot on the tree and that she was feeling weird about it. She forced a smile and went to sit cross legged in front of the group so that everyone was now watching the sunset together.

"You know, I was a little afraid at first," Kairi spoke after a long while of silence, "But now I think I'm ready. " She pushed her feet into the sand and lifted them up so that the sand shifted around her. "I know that I can always come back here." Her wistful words fell through the sand like her feet had and the whole group contemplated what she had said. Surely they could come back... right?

"You're right." Sora joined her finally and Riku nodded. None of the three noticed the suddenly solemn looks on the two girl that they had rescued from the sea. Kairi's smile was back as she and everyone else looked into the sunset for different answers.

"I just can't wait. Once we set sail it'll be great."

MAINISLAND

The boat ride back was quiet between Rio and Soku. The other three had opted to head home early but the two of then found themselves wanting just a little more time in that moment. The water splashed as the two girls rowed in silence. The sun had almost fully gone down and left a deep red line right at the horizon line. Tonight would be their last night on the main island. It would be the last night in their beds that they had become accustomed to. It would be the last night in the only place that Soku had memories.

"I'm scared." Rio admitted almost as a whisper and the boat was quiet again as they pulled up to the dock. Rio started to climb out of the boat but Soku found herself frozen on the bench. Rio- the girl who Soku had never seen back away from something- was scared. Soku found herself scared and found even more terrifyingly that she felt accustomed to it. Her face was straight and she looked up to Rio; her branded arm twitched erratically.

"I am..." she paused in between words, "very scared." Rio smiled down at her and put out her hand to help Soku up onto the dock. As soon as Soku tied up the boat they headed back the short distance to Kairi's house

"This place is all I know." Soku expressed as they walked across the sand. Rio didn't say anything. She didn't need to. "Nothing before this place makes any sense to me and now we're leaving. It's a choice though... leave the place or leave the people I've come to know." The house was dark from the outside. The girls stopped just short of the front door.

"I know that I'm going with them." Soku added to make herself clear. "Fear seems to be something that I can deal with." She tried for a smile and looked Rio in the eyes. She nodded and opened the door.

They went to bed and fell asleep for the short amount of rest that they would need for the days to come.

So there's that. Hope it's starting to get more interesting. Though I don't know why I even add notes like this. I'm pretty sure no one reads this far in my stories. Hell I could be insulting you people and no one would ever know. BUT I'm a better person than that so Ill just stick with hey hop eyou liked it. Reviews :x
