Chapter 16

As per their routine they'd gotten into Dean was waiting by the impala after school. Cas approached smiling. He enjoyed spending time with Dean. It made him happy to be able to spend almost everyday with his best friend. When Cas approached Dean smiled widely.

"Shall we go?" Dean asked.

"We shall. Allons-y!" Cas exclaimed jokingly. Since he'd started spending more time with Dean Cas had began to joke a bit more and developed a sense of humour.

The two of them laughed as they got into the car.

"So..." Dean said as he started up the engine.

"How was final period Dean?" Cas asked to kickstart the conversation.

"It was incredibly funny actually. You know how we got Charlie to edit wikipedia again?"

"Yes."

"Yeah well the teacher was teaching from wikipedia."

"Weren't you in english though?"

"Yes. Anyway the teacher was going on about the meaning of the book which she was getting from wikipedia and of course Charlie had changed it and it was hilarious!"

"What was the meaning?" Cas asked.

"Well we were analyzing some boring book called the secret life of bees and according to the teacher and Charlie's wikipedia edits is that at the start of the book the bees are signifying that Lily had schizophrenia that was brought on by her obviously abusive uncle. The bees were apparently her hallucinations which was why the sounds were coming from the walls as they were coming from her head, it was also why her abusive uncle never saw the bees. The later when she leaves home she goes into a mental hospital and meets people who think their sane but aren't except for May who knows she ain't sane. Then they all become besties and Lily's schizophrenia get's better but then T-ray comes along and wants her back and her mental besties are like hell no so he's like k bye. Overall the meaning of the book is that schizophrenia will be overcome if you make friends!" Dean continued ranting about some of the teaches strange observations on the book.

Suddenly Dean's voice was tuned out by Cas's brain a new voice rang clear. Cas had never heard the voice before and therefore had no clue who it belonged to. The voice rang out clear as a bell.

"The seals are broken, He is free." The voice declared. Cas was unsure as to who the voice was referring to, or what it meant by 'seals' but the voice had an element of anxiety in it. Clearly whatever it had been talking about worried it.

"Are any of them active?" A new voice asked. The voices were annoying, it was hard to tell if they even belonged to a male or female. They also seemed to be making no sense, talking in their cryptic ways. Cas was sure it was all in his head, but that didn't explain what they would be talking about.

"There's only one left." The first voice answered.

"How is there only one? A whole garrison went!"

"The demons wiped them out. Remember they were living as humans, they were vulnerable."

"Well then, is the one left active?"

"I don't know, we lost track of them years ago."

"What do you mean you lost track of them!?" The second voice boomed.

"We can't find them, we tried. They're gone, either dead or hidden. But at least that means that Lucifer can't find them."

"That's true... But who is the last one?"

"Castiel."

Cas thought that he must be losing it. The voices were acting like whatever he was was something special. He wasn't anything special! He was just a high schooler. Maybe they were only talking like he was special because they only existed in his head, yeah that had to be the explanation.

The voices faded out after that.

When they got to Cas's house Dean noticed that Cas was staring out the window into nothingness. He moved his hand in front of Cas's eyes but Cas showed no response. He gently shook Cas's shoulder. "Cas?"

Cas was shook out of his trance like state. He turned to look at Dean. "Hi."

"Are you okay? You seemed a bit spaced out." Dean said, his voice laced with concern.

"I'm fine." Cas responded.

"Are you sure? I was trying to talk to you for five minutes and you didn't even seem to hear me."

"I must've zoned out."

"Oh. Are you zoned in now?'

"Yes."

"Okay as I was saying..." Dean proceeded to rant about how boring and evil his history teacher was and how she apparently deserved to 'go to hell'. Cas listened half-heartedly to Dean, most of his focus was on what had just happened.

Now he wasn't just seeing things but he was hearing things as well. What did that mean?

A/N: I foreshadow so much in this story. Aw well I hope you liked that even though it was short.
