"Marinette, could you check the soup for me, please?" Her father asked. Marinette wrote another line of the letter she was working on. "In a minute, Dad."

"Is that for who I think is?" Her father smiled as he read over her shoulder. "That Adrien is a lucky guy, having you for a friend," he told her, kissing the top of her head. Marinette sighed. "I don't know about that. I'd rather tell him in person but the only way I can do that is through a letter."

"How about I finish the soup while you go work on your letter?" her father said, kindly. "I know how important Adrien is to you." Marinette jumped up, kissing his cheek. "Thanks, Papa!"

Snapping on her computer desk light, Marinette begin to write.

"Though I am shy and stumble my words around you, I wanted to say thank you. When I'm in a bad mood you tell me a joke to make me smile, and when I have a clumsy moment, you give me a hand up.

I'd love to go for a walk to get to know you, for when I'm one-on-one I'm a lot calmer.

I'm so happy we are friends, so, Adrien, will you be my Valentine?

-Marinette

Marinette read it over then quickly folded it into an envelope before she could chicken out. But one thing was missing and she looked over at her stickers. Ah, a heart sticker would do just the trick.

Over at Adrien's…..

"Thank goodness, I'm finished for the night, Plagg. I was finding it hard to concentrate." Adrien climbed into his soft bed as Plagg lay down on a pillow. "Because its almost Love Day?" Plagg stuck out his tongue. "Its called Valentine's Day, buddy."

Adrien went to Sprouts and Stems website, hoping to find a pretty bouquet for Marinette. He felt giddy as he thought about how surprised she would be. He loved making her happy. He decided to go with the standard order of red roses, but just as about order he added one extra flower: a for-get-me-not.

"Oh, Tikki, my palms are so sweaty I'm afraid of getting the letter wet," Marinette squeaked with nervousness as she waited by Adrien's locker. "Just be yourself. Adrien wants to be your friend too."

Marinette hid the card behind her back as she spotted the golden hair boy through the crowd. "Good morning, Marinette! Happy Valentine's Day!" "What's behind your back?" Marinette asked. "I could ask you the same thing." "How about we do it together?" Marinette nodded, and at the count of three, she gave him her letter as he handed her the bouquet. "Oh, how lovely!" "Happy Valentine's Day," Adrien said, shyly. "The blue flower is different, because I don't think I'll ever forget how kind and sweet you are."

The bell rang and both friends were disappointed that Adrien couldn't read his letter. But Adrien did during study hall, smiling and feeling loved. He would make a call right after school, saying yes he'd love to go on a walk with her, and yes, he loved to be her very special Valentine.
