Authors note: I'm sorry I've been taking forever. Life has a way of just... happening on you. I didn't take the time to spell check. So if I've made any grievous mistakes just know that it only happened because i wanted to get this pirated for you as soon as i finished the draft.

Break This Spell626, I really wanted to get a new chapter up asap, so it was a bit shorter, but I like a nice cliffhanger every now and again, lol. Good things come to those who are forced to wait for the next update! Haha

:Hermione:
She continued brushing her teeth ever so slowly. So caught up was she in trying NOT to think about anything that it didn't even register that the light had just flicked on. She didn't see the deer in the headlights look on the face of the barely dressed body standing in the door jamb. Didn't see the surprise turn into worry and uncertainty as the body hesitated before cautiously and quietly shutting the door. But she did hear the faint click of the latch, jerking quite terribly out of her stupor and looking around wildly. Clutching her towel around her small frame self consciously, she stared around the bathroom with a crazed look on her face. She checked the door leading into Draco's room and found it locked. 'But i know this light was off,' she thought to herself. She glanced around once more before hurrying into her room to get dressed.

:Draco:
He stood with his back against the door feeling something he couldn't remember ever feeling for another human before. Concern. While walking in on her had been completely unintentional, 'she was standing in the dark for crying out loud!', he couldn't erase the image of her from his mind. Her gaunt form, with bones showing prominently, scars littering the parts of her not hidden by her towel, the zombielike way she stood at the sink. Some things just couldn't be unseen. And he was racking up quite the collection of images he couldn't unsee. All involving Hermione. He had missed all of that the night before while changing her as he had kept his promise not to look. But he had been unprepared for seeing her just now and couldn't NOT notice everything that was wrong. Draco turned and knocked loudly on the bathroom door. Something he should have done in the first place, but he had gotten so used to being the only one in the dorm that he didn't think twice about it. He waited for a reply before peeking his head around to make sure she was gone. Seeing the room empty he strode in and went about his morning business. He was so distracted with his newfound concern for the witch next door that he cut his chin while shaving (using a tiny little hand mirror since he didn't have to heart to replace the giant mirrors on the wall) and he was pretty sure he conditioned his hair twice forgetting the shampoo altogether. He was still distracted when he stepped out of the shower and threw a towel around his waist before walking into his bedroom to dress.

:Hermione:
She sat on her bed like a statue, dressed and ready to go. Her mind was racing a mile a minute and her hands were starting to tremble. She could remember clearly the last time she felt this story of fearful anticipation. It had been right as the final battle was about to start. Her palms had been slick with sweat, her heart had been thumping around her chest, her wild hair almost crackling with a nervous energy.
She was trying in vain to give herself a pep talk, but there was no pep left in her to use. It wasn't until she heard the door slam on the other side of the stairs that she shook herself out off her stupor and stood up angrily. What was there for her to be so worked up about in the first place? It had been a very long time since she had let her drive and determination be clouded by the fear of w lhat others might think of her. If she was to play the part of a strong, willful girl that had her shit together, (not to mention all of her sanity) then she would do it "the RIGHT way". With her bloody head up and the air of superiority she was famous for.
Hermione gathered up her books and tucked her wand in her waistband, slightly comforted by the gentle thrum of her magic radiating from it at the small of her back. She threw open her for and stomped straight out into the hall. And straight into Draco who was also coming out of HIS room.
