Not a short story im very sorry please forgive me of my sin, it's an author's note.

There's something that's been bugging me for a while. I forgot to mention it when I was writing Famous Last Words, and this is at a completely random time, I know, but I feel it's really important.

It's the reason why I started writing Famous Last Words in the first place.

I created my character Kat for a very specific reason. Her personality and character arch were designed so carefully and thought out so much before I actually started typing her out on my laptop. I got my first inspiration for her when I was looking out of my hotel room on my last night in Ho Chi Minh City, after one of the most incredible experiences in my life, with my headphones in and listening to (surprise, surprise) Famous Last Words by My Chemical Romance. (emooooo not really though…)

At that specific moment, I knew I had to make my point.

Yes, she was originally a Time Lady in Doctor Who. Yes, I did change her over to be in Star Wars. My reason for that is because Star Wars has something really complimentary to Kat's character and storyline: the Dark Side.

You probably realised that quite a lot of the time I wrote that she never classified herself as a Jedi or a Sith. She never defined herself as totally good or totally bad. She realised she was Ying and Yang in the end.

And now is when I tell you Kat's backstory, because I need to focus on Kat's Dark Side.

She grew up with her uncle who died when she was 12. She was bullied wherever she lived because she had strange abilities to use the Force (in specific, the Dark Side). I won't tell you too much (because I still haven't finished Little Bird, bad me) but there is actually a bit of Palpatine inside Kat, which gives her Dark abilities. She became depressed, and as subtly hinted, she attempted suicide when she was 15 (dark I know).

So when I first introduced her in Young Blood she was a tainted character. She had flaws and scars which she was afraid of showing. In Hell Above: The Sound Of Silence, she only realised she was tainted even further with the Dark Side and Palpatine.

Which brings me to my reason for writing this fanfic: the Dark Side was a part of Kat. She considered it a bad thing, but in This Is Gospel though eventually she learned to accept her flaw, embrace it, and use it to her advantage. Or to quote Ntozake Shange "i found god in myself and i loved her i loved her fiercely".

And I really hope you all can embrace your Dark Side and learn to love yourself too.

Really cliché I know but it's the sole reason why I wrote. I want to make a difference.

And kinda following the theme of confession here, this is a list of the subtle hints and Easter Eggs I dropped in Famous Last Words that I feel like you are ready to know.

-I think that I foreshadowed that she'd loose her left eye in chapter 4 of YB

-The "never have a plan" philosophy is actually taken from the 11th Doctor.

-Kat's two blaster pistols foreshadowed that she'd end up with two lightsabers.

-"krispo ma hotta flutta schutta" is Huttese for "fry my spicy fresh b*tch"

-Kat quotes The Fool On The Hill by the Beatles when they come out of their hiding spots on the Millennium Falcon on the Death Star.

-"Kat" is derived from "Kathrine" which means "pure one"

-In the epilogues, the conversation is always between the spirit of Nadae and Yoda.

-I MAJOR BIGGIE: Kat's middle name, "Nahseletas", is "Satele Shan" spelt backwards. She is a descendant of the old Jedi grandmaster Satele and, therefore, also a descendant of Revan.

-she bloody well wasn't born on Naboo.

-"Cahira", Kat's Darth name, means "warrior" in Irish.

-The vision Kat saw in the cave on Dagobah was the Dark Side Luke from the comic Dark Empire.

-She quotes "The Sound Of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkel when she enters the cave, which also just happens to be one of the songs that the instalment was named after.

-Subtle mention of a "Lord Orage" in chapter 12 of HATSOS, the only thing I shall say is that "L'Orage" means "the Storm" in French.

-It was Lando Calrissian who flirted with her on her way to see Luke in Home One.

-In Jabba's palace when Kat posed as a Chiss assassin called Daithi, she was wearing Revan's mask.

-In the last chapter of TIS, during the celebration scene when Luke and Kat reunite, Luke asks Kat to marry him.

-The first line of Young Blood was "I've been running all my life…" and the last in This Is Gospel was "… and I'm never gonna stop."
