Luka had a wonderful day performing and sharing his music with the world. It was non-stop adrenaline and passion. But it wasn't the same since his precious muse wasn't with him.
After feeling drained of energy from social interaction with his bandmates and fans, Luka needed to head out of the hotel where he could see the beach. A beautiful orange sunset made the world around him feel calmer.
Luka sat on the stone bench and watched the waves while listening to the sounds of the ocean. He then closed his eyes to relax but felt a familiar presence that made him open his eyes and see a familiar red blur.
"Hey there!"
Luka nearly fell off the bench as he cried out and clutched his chest. "Marinette!"
Still in her ladybug form, Marinette gave him a cheeky grin and giggled. She cupped his cheek with her hand, and Luka relaxed when he felt his heroine's touch.
"I missed you so much Luka," Marinette said as she moved closer to him and kissed him on the cheek.
Luka sighed as his ocean-blue eyes gleamed for her.
"And I missed you too, my melody."
The two of them kissed each other sweetly as Marinette caressed Luka's face, and Luka pulled her closer, so she was sitting on his lap. When they broke the kiss, Marinette wrapped her arm around her boyfriend and rested her head against his chest.
"I'm sorry I couldn't be there for you," she said.
Luka shook his head and took a moment to kiss the top of her head.
"It's ok. The world needs their powerful heroine to make sure all of us can live happily," Luka said softly.
"The world needs you more than I do," Luka said in a slightly crestfallen tone.
Marinette looked at him again, but her eyes were sorrowful behind her mask this time.
"But I need you too! Your music and love help cancel all the discord in my life."
Luka smiled down at her, and even if Marinette's double life as a hero was an uncertain whirlwind, she felt assured again. And when Luka wrapped his arms around her and made her feel safe, Marinette closed her eyes and relaxed.
"Well, we have plenty of time to spend together now," Luka whispered.
Marinette made a pleased hum and transformed back into her civilian form with a sleepy Tikki flying into Marinette's tiny purse. She fell asleep as Luka held her bridal style.
Luka got up and carried her to the hotel, avoiding wandering eyes. Sass appeared on his shoulder, and he quietly changed into Viperion so he could teleport to his hotel room. Once there, Luka transformed back and gently set Marinette on the side of the bed. He smiled down at her as Marinette finally smiled in her sleep after weeks of backbreaking hero work.
He lay on the other side of the bed and sang soft melodies to ensure no nightmares would bother her. Luka could see the golden orange sunset preparing for its grand finale before nightfall from the window.
The world around them was finally calming down, and the weight of the world wouldn't crush them. Luka would make sure of that.
He fell asleep aside Marinette as the sunset finally turned into the calm darkness of the night.
