On a fancy rooftop dining area, Luka played his guitar to ensure everyone had a beautiful romantic evening. And being on one of the tallest buildings in Paris with the stars above them, it felt like being close to a beautiful galaxy. But Luka tried fighting this melancholy feeling in his heart as he played his guitar. However, all the dinner guests gave him a nice round of applause, and Luka at least felt relieved he touched everyone with his music.

Meanwhile, at the bottom of the building, Ladybug swung herself down while still keeping herself concealed.

"Spots off Tikki!"

After she transformed back to her civilian form, she eagerly ran into the building in her high heels and headed for the elevator. Sure, it was 30 floors up, but she sang a familiar melody while dancing, not minding if other people in the elevator noticed her.

When Luka finished putting away his equipment, the waiter sat him down at an empty table and placed a basket of breadsticks for him to eat. But Luka ignored it and rested his face against his hand as he listened to other guests at a nearby table having fun and waited for the entree.

"May I join you?"

Luka felt his heart flip when he heard that familiar beautiful voice. Marinette was smiling before him, and he thought he had hit his head hard and was dreaming. She wore the most beautiful dark blue dress decorated with sparkles and patterns resembling a starry galaxy.

"Marinette…" Luka cried.

"Oh, Miss Dupain-Cheng. Please take a seat." The waiter interrupted. "I will be sure the cooks will make another entree for you."

"Thank you," Marinette said as she sat down.

The waiter left with a smile, but Luka struggled to express his overwhelming emotions.

"Marinette I…"

Marinette covered her face with her hand and giggled. "Hi Luka…" She took a moment to bat her eyelashes. "I know this is sudden."

Luka gave her a slightly stern look. "No…" His heart thudded.

Marinette sighed, relieved as she reached for a breadstick and broke it in half, wasting no time eating one half and humming pleasurably by the flavor and texture. She didn't eat much all day due to her double life as a hero, but she didn't let Luka know.

Luka was relieved that Marinette seemed to be doing fine after not hearing much from her for days, but something about this still didn't sit well with him.

"Marinette I was worried…."

Before Luka could say anything else, Marinette cut him off by playing the other half of the breadstick in his mouth. She smiled at him like it was just an ordinary night. Luka gave her a bit of a deadpan expression as he ate the breadstick, and Marinette giggled as she twirled a strand of her hair with her finger.

"It's just another one of those sacrifices I make with being a hero." Marinette grabbed herself another breadstick. "But when I knew everything was ok, the first thing I could think about was running to you." Marinette waved her breadstick like a magic wand before taking a bite off the top and devouring that one as well.

Luka acknowledged that he wasn't dreaming and that Marinette was with him again. But whenever Marinette put herself in danger, he knew he could never imagine himself without her.

"Oh Marinette…" Luka sighed.

"Hm?" Marinette said as she finished another breadstick. Luka blushed as Marinette tried to assure him with a reassuring smile that shined like starlight.

"Oh Luka, please don't look so sullen. You're always there to make me smile and laugh."

Just then, the waiter cut in to give Marinette and Luka bowls of soup. The waiter once again gave them service with a smile before giving them some privacy.

"Look Luka! Soup!"

Marinette smiled as the steam warmed her face, and her nose filled with the scent of creamy soup with plenty of vegetables. She scooped a spoonful and was careful to blow off some steam, but regardless she still accidentally burned her tongue. But the food was so delicious after risking her life. She up the vegetables with her spoon and enjoyed how soft they were as she ate them.

Luka ate some soup as well, trying to hide his concern. Still, he couldn't help but chuckle, seeing Marinette shamelessly picking up the bowl and slurping the rest down. When Marinette finished, she grinned at him. She was still his Marinette even though she goes on journeys to hell and back for the entire city's sake.

Marinette giggled again as she got out of her seat and took Luka's hands.

"Can I take you away for a moment Luka?"

Luka squeezed her hands in return and smiled at her.

"Yes, Marinette."

Marinette eagerly took Luka to the empty area on the rooftop where they could be alone. But Luka needed to catch his breath as Marinette sat on the roof's edge and smiled at him as if she wasn't close to danger.

"I missed you so much Luka."

Luka rushed to her side and took her hand. He breathed some cold air that made Marinette shiver slightly.

"All the danger you go through Marinette," Luka said. He held her hand gently to cherish her. "Sometimes I worry too much."

Marinette placed her hand on his shoulder, and when Luka let go of her other hand, she put her other hand on his other shoulder. And with the stars and the view from the rooftop seemed like they were on the galaxy's edge. The stars against Marinette made her look even more beautiful as she smiled at him again.

"I'll put myself in any danger for you and everyone in Paris," Marinette assured him.

Luka wrapped his arms around her and kept her close to his beating heart. Marinette hugged him in return, and Luka sighed when he saw the lights of the cars below them.

"We are lucky to have such a selfless hero like you Marinette," Luka said softly.

Marinette giggled and caught Luka off guard, taking him by the hands again and away from the edge. With a coy smile, she pressed her finger against his nose.

"I'm the lucky one," she said. Marinette placed her hand on his shoulder and, with a smile, Luka followed by wrapping his arm around her waist. "May I have this dance?"

Luka gently pressed his forehead against hers. "Of course Marinette."

Marinette took the lead by spinning both of them around. Luka almost had trouble keeping up, but it was magical spinning together and surrounded by the stars while the world around them was quiet.

And before Luka knew it, Marinette let go of one of his hands and swung him. Marinette wrapped her arm around his back and dipped him. The stars looked much brighter now as he was in Marinette's arms. He couldn't resist stroking her cheek with his hand, and the two of them moved in for a kiss.

Marinette pulled him back to his feet before they broke the kiss, and Luka took her hands tenderly to keep her close.

"Please stay Marinette…."

Marinette quickly placed her hand on his beating heart and winked at him.

"I'm here Luka. I'll always be here for you."

Luka smiled down at her as Marinette squeezed his hand and excitedly took him back to the dining area. The couple laughed and smiled ear to ear, and any pain from the past or worry for the future was gone for now. They were so caught up with being together again that they were stunned that the friendly waiter was placing some dessert on their table.

"Ah! Mr. Couffaine. Ms. Dupain-Cheng. You're just in time for dessert."

Marinette and Luka giggled again before thanking the waiter for the most wonderful dinner date. The dessert was cake with plenty of strawberries. And dessert was much sweeter with his beautiful heroine feeding him strawberries from her fork.

Dinner dates like this and Marinette's declaration of love made all that waiting worth it. And Marinette knew a wandering heroine like herself always had a home when she was with Luka.

They both prayed deep down there would be more romantic rendezvous like this.
