I do not own One Piece but I do own this plot!
Ace stood in front of Sengoku, Aokiji was there along with Garp. Ace kept his face blank. Sengoku looked him over. "Where's your brothers at? Aren't you three usually always together?"
Ace nodded. "Sabo's packing things we're going to need for our mission and planning, Luffy is getting food with Coby."
Sengoku nodded looking the teen in the eyes. "Tonight will be the last chance you have for getting Marco the phoenix, I will give you one week to complete your mission if you don't have the phoenix by then you know what I'll be forced to do."
Everything was tense before Garp laughed loudly. "Now Senny you know my boys will get it done! They're as strong as any admiral! I bet Ace is even on par with old Sakazuki!"
Ace smirked slightly, it was reassuring to know Garp thought he was as strong as the red dog. But he was right Ace and Sabo could easily hold their own against Kizaru and Aokiji. Luffy was different he could manage but he wouldn't be able to beat them just yet.
Sengoku sighed turning back to Ace. "I don't care how you do it just get it done! We need the phoenix without him our plans go down the drain, I trust you brats the most that's why I'm leaving it in your hands."
Those words made Ace faulter slightly. 'He trusts us? If we just up and leave there will be no saving us we'll be traitors and most likely executed if ever caught, but we can't go after Whitebeard it's too dangerous.'
Ace looked Sengoku in the eyes. "Sir me and my brothers will try our best to complete this mission but I can't make any promises even we're not strong enough to take on the whole Whitebeard pirates and it'll be hard to trick them into the same thing as last time."
Sengoku's eyes hardened. "Like I said before I don't care how it gets done just get it done! You are dismissed."
Ace nodded and saluted. He turned and left the room quickly. Aokiji looked over to the fleet admiral. "Don't you think your being too harsh on those boys? This mission is almost impossible to accomplish."
Sengoku nodded. "I understand that very well but the higher ups don't, they don't care how strong someone is, they've never seen Whitebeard when he's truly mad they don't know his strength like we do so I have no choice but to be harsh on those boys."
Garp ate a rice cracker and looked up. "But they did get closer than any of us ever have, they actually had the phoenix in their grasp but they chose family first which shouldn't be too surprising."
-(Break)-
Ace was pissed those assholes expected the impossible from them! Seriously how were three kids supposed to defeat the strongest pirates in the world?
Sabo looked up when the door was slammed shut. "So I guess it wasn't a good meeting then?" Ace scoffed flopping onto the bed.
"Sengoku that bastard brought gramps and Aokiji in, and then he even went on to say how he trusted us the most with this and all that crap!" Sabo nodded Aokiji was honestly their favorite of the marines someone they trusted.
Sabo turned the chair to face his freckled brother. "Ace you need to decided now what we're doing, because once we leave there's no turning back, we will be traitors there is no in between, we'll be wanted fugitives."
Ace groaned rubbing his face. "I know that but what they're asking us to do is almost suicide! There's no way we can capturing Marco the phoenix and if we don't then they're going to hurt Lu!"
Sabo nodded. "No matter what choice we make one of us might wind up hurt but choosing the marines is almost a guarantee that Lu will be the one hurt."
Ace eyes darkened at those words. No one was ever going to hurt Luffy again. "I know and that's why it's settle we're leaving tonight, we'll go making them think we're going on our mission but we won't show up, it should give us about two weeks before they realize what's really going on."
The door was flung open again. Luffy grinned trotting into the room happily. Ace grinned at the boy. "Lu you ready to go tonight?"
Luffy nodded wrapping his arms around the freckled teen. "Shihihi! I can't wait to get out of here! It's so stuffy and I hate it!"
The older two couldn't agree more with their younger brother. Sabo picked up a bag rolling the map up. Luffy and Ace followed his example and grabbing their bags.
Garp was waiting for them at the docks. He grinned seeing his three brats in marine uniforms. It was honestly a dream come true for him. They had done as he hoped and become great marines.
"You boys go snag that damn phoenix! Don't worry about anything else! If you need back up just call and we'll send someone out to help you." Ace nodded tense.
The boys piled onto their medium sized marine ship. Luffy waved to his gramps. "See ya later gramps!"
Garp watched the boys sail away. The boys turned away once Garp was out of view. Ace slumped against the railing. "Damn I never thought I'd feel this bad about leaving the marines."
Sabo smiled softly. "What do you expect we've got to know a lot of them, we made friends and we got to know gramps when he wasn't trying to beat us into becoming great marines, we had a lot there of course we're going to miss some things."
Luffy nodded looking out at the setting sun. "Like Coby! I'm going to miss him he was really funny but he's best suited for the marines."
Sabo nodded. "You know Ace it's not too late we could always try to grab the commander again, it's up to you you're the leader and the oldest no matter what you choose we'll follow you."
Luffy nodded his agreement. The two looked at the freckled teen grinning. Ace stood smiling. "Don't worry guys I know we're making the right choice we just aren't cut out to be marines! We're meant to be free! We're meant to be pirates!"

Marco could feel a headache forming. Thatch was being annoying and constantly bugging him. Haruta was doing the same having nothing better to do.
The phoenix was losing his patience. He turned to the two glaring. "Like I've said already I don't know where we're going! We need to raid a marine base and find out where the boys are now. Leave. Me. Alone!"
Thatch snickered getting the blonde flustered was a great pass time. Haruta snickered as well it was fun messing with his usually calm and composed brother.
Izo sighed deciding to save Marco from any more torment. "We could always raid that marine ship over there and get the information we seek."
All attention went to the lone marine ship. The two trouble makers grinned wanting to fight someone. Marco sighed running a hand through his hair. "Change course towards that ship we're going to take it, yoi!"
