Hey again guys. Hope you enjoy!

CH16

Palpatine was raging! Fuming! To have two apprentices out of commission in the span of two days! It was unacceptable! Kenobi lay on a slab of stone under what was considered "the private house" of the chancellor in a dimly lit room with torches. The accursed Jedi council had "insisted" that Kenobi was "force exhausted" from using too much force after years of little to no practice. But Palpatine knew better. What Kenobi had experienced was a force burn. There was a god reason why only one Jedi made it as both a Sith and a Jedi his name being Darth Reven. For Kenobi to still have the ability to use the light side of the force was of course a simple feat. But to use it at such an intense and demanding moment only went to show how much potential Kenobi had.

He had found Kenobi on Jaguada near death. Himself being there on request of his master who insisted he find a holocron of Darth Gravid that he located in a cavern not far off from the only settlement on the planet. He was sent onto this world with his masters blessing and words. "Only once in these past thousand years has a Sith Lord strayed into the light, and one day I will tell you that tale." He had of course seen no purpose to go treasure hunting for such lore. He considered that his master had enough such useless relics. Adjacent to this cavern was one of the few mines on the barren planet of Idul used as a side ingredient to make a stronger version of what the core worlds called "death sticks." He would have of course ignored any and all of the suffering sentient beings on this wretched planet but he had felt a strong presence in the force amplified by the smaller presences it stood out as dark and raw. This had piqued Palpatine's interest and he had gone to investigate. To his joy he had found not one but many force users slaving away under brutality in these caverns. Most had been too weak in the force to become apprentices but they had their uses and became dark acolytes for his now damned master. And of course there was Kenobi. He would make a fine replacement for Xanatos once he exhausted all of his capabilities.

Palpatine had as Chancellor thanked the council for their worry but claimed that he would have his best medics treat Kenobi. And since Kenobi was part of his entourage and not a Jedi Palpatine had the last say in the matter. The droid gave off some readings and claimed the patient needed rest and a load of other nonsense. The only cure for such a malady was immersion in the dark side by a Sith healer or sleep. If his master would have still been hear the process would take less than an hour and both Kenobi and Xanatos would be back on their feet. He cursed again under his breath Xanatos would pay for his failure. Now he had a hateful sith sorcerer out for his head and of course his current apprentices could not be trusted. They could turn on him any moment particularly Kenobi. He may have pulled the boy out of the mines but it was his accursed master who spent tedious hours in healing sessions repairing the boy's broken body. He had only one consolation on this day. The creation of the RedGaurd was approved after the kidnapping and he was now one step closer to his army. His master was forcing his hand but oh he would pay dearly! And the divergence in the force that was that little boy would be his! No matter the cost!

It was unbearably hot. Like fire going through his veins. The red sun beat mercilessly on his neck as he used a pickaxe to break more of the blasted salt powder. It was all the Kriffin Jedi's faulty that he was here!

Obi Wan Kenobi was sent to the Ari Corps at thirteen rejected. This then was his story.

The shuttle landed on Bandomeer with a silent hiss. The door was open as thirty two failed initiates were herded out onto the planet and given a roster. Choose a profession and you would be apprenticed to a guild after hours. The work was relatively fair though exhausting. Obi Wan had chosen hired protection as his side job. He would start training at fifteen. He sighed as he cut more of the wheat like substance the facility would make bread from. He had been here two weeks and although it wasn't the temple the rhythm of the work was enough to keep him occupied.

"Yo!" Milo bumped shoulders with him as the sound rang for lunch. They sat on the few logs around a fire pit as they dug into their sandwiches. "Anything new?" Kenobi asked conspiratorially with a frown. Milo bent forward and whispered. "Heard that they want a big shipment this year?"

"I still don't believe you!" Chuckled Kenobi. "Must be made up to scare the freshies at night.

"I'm not lying!" Hissed Milo "And keep your voice down. The Mando's need an eighty five percent shipment."

"The mandalorians don't slave trade. Not in this sector anyway. Besides there's no way they can do all this under the nose of the Jedi council surely they would feel a disturbance in the force."

Milo laughed darkly. "The Jedi council is not all knowing. You don't believe there here? Fine! Come with me I'll show ya!"

The two boys had scurried around and using the amount of force they knew they snuck toward the edge of the room from the outside and peered into the window. In the corner a mandalorian set clad in his bounty hunter outfit. Across from him was Commander Rilke head of Bandomeer's initiates.

"Think of something." The mandalorian raged I need the shipment immediately! Someone struck big creds on Jaguada they need em now!"

The commander got up to pace the floor. "I have thought of everything! Unless we do suicide, but we did that last year and for so many to commit such an act! We would catch the council's already keen attention! Their always wondering why we lose so many!"

The mandalorian chuckled. "Wonder, but they don't do much. Fine, I'll double the pay."

Suddenly someone grabbed both kids by the shoulder. "Caught you!"

"Kriff it Bentariss let us go!" But Bentariss was already yelling for both men inside. They rushed out and Milo and Kenobi broke free in a run but were caught only minutes later by the trained Mandalorian. "I'll take these with me first," he were shoved onto a transport and then forced into shackles that made him feel sick like they were trying to snuff him out. Those days had been a nightmare. He was forced to work with a lash dogging his every footstep. Milo had not even lasted a month. Not many survived the year but he kept going. With one thought in mind revenge!

It was unbearably hot now he was back in those caves watching Milo and Ro and Gilias die. And Luras he had been the last straw before he had practically exploded the shackles the dark side burning around him as it did not do so now.

Palpatine watched as sweat beaded Kenobi's brow his body shuddering. He was a fighter, and if he did not last then he wasn't meant too. He left the room to go check up on his other more wounded and now in disfavor apprentice. The force was not on his side on this day. But no matter in the end he would still prevail.
