Ladybug landed on the roof of their usual spot for patrol. She sighed, looking up at moon. It was the perfect night to hang out, maybe grab some hot chocolate later….Ladybug cocked her ear, what was that beeping sound?
She soon spotted Cat already in his spot, a small light in his hands. Ladybug walked forward. "Kitty?" she called, and Cat jumped up hiding the mystery object behind his back. "My Lady! I didn't see you! Um. Ready for patrol?" Ladybug smiled. "Nice try, love. Hand it over."
Cat handed her his baton, and Ladybug looked it over. Nothing unusual about…. "Wait, Cat you have Animal Crossing on your baton?" "Yeah, I was going to wait for you, but I got impatient." Ladybug handed Cat back his baton, then took his hand and begin to dance with glee. "Kitty, I love Animal Crossing! And the new update just came out tonight!"
But then, Cat's little triangle ears started drooping and he took up his pout position. "What's wrong?" "What about patrol?" Oh, why did have to be good tonight and make her feel guilty? Ladybug paced and back and forth. "Just for tonight, I'll allow it." "Yay! Your the best, Bugaboo!" Cat threw his arms around her. Sitting down on the ledge of their building, she opened her yo-yo. "I just hope I get on here."
Soon, both of them were on their islands. "Come and visit me!" Ladybug told him. "Okay," Cat grinned, rubbing against her and purring. "Not that way of visiting you goof! In a plane!"
Cat's eyes sparkled as he tapped away and soon Ladybug went to meet him at the airport. After a quick tour of the island, she spotted one of her island residents and fled. Cat looked up at her. "My Lady, is there something wrong with that villager?" "Just hurry! Its Engune!" Cat stayed where he was, then peered up at Ladybug, frowning. "What's wrong with a kola?" "First of all, he sings! And he's so arrogant and tells puns! Ugh!"
Cat rubbed against her again, purring loudly. "But I tell puns. Don't you love me?" "Yes, though your vanity could use a little work! Oh, butterflies!" Ladybug skidded to a stop as a anteater in a sweatsuit carrying dumbbells jogged up to them. "Ladybug, are you finally coming on a jog with me? You need to feel the burn!"
Ladybug growled under breath as she beat a hasty retreat, Cat now at her heels. "I give you a burn, with my yo-yo!"
"How about we calm down, and grab a cup of coffee?" Cat suggested. "Great idea." Then Ladybug's stomach growled for real. "Let's get a snack, and resume the tour," she said.
When they got back, full of oatmeal cookies and coffee, Cat had message to fly back to his island. "Aw, that was a short visit!" Cat grinned at her. "Only in the game, Bugaboo. Don't you know I'll stick by your side?" Cat waved his stick and grinned. Ladybug rolled her eyes and groaned. "My goodness, Kitty, what do you do, sit in front of the mirror and make up puns?"
Cat gave her a side eye as he boarded his virtual plane. "Um, I'm not answering the first question, and no, there's a book!" "Pity I don't know your identity, or it would be bye-bye book!" Cat narrowed his eyes. "You wouldn't dare! And here I thought you might be just a bit curious to see the handsome boy behind the mask."
By now, the game was temporarily forgotten as they sat, nose to nose. "Oh, I can do better the a mask, love." And then she planted a kiss on his lips. Cat meowed happily. "What were in those cookies...Yipes!"
Cat leaped backwards nearly sending his baton over the edge. Ladybug caught it just in time to see a VERY angry Tom Nook. "Cat Noir, you owe me a million bells, and are late on your payments! Now, pay up, furball!"
"Geez, and I thought Hawkmoth was scary!" "How many I going to pay him back, love? I spent all my money on a scratching post!" Cat wails. "Okay, calm down. We're a team, and we'll chop some trees and whack some weeds." We do a pound it, and get to work.
After an hour or so, the moon slips behind a cloud. "Cat?" I shiver slightly. "Yes?" "I'm cold." Cat and I cuddle on his lap as we work, but soon we grow sleepy…..
In the morning, I wake up on something warm and solid, and realizes that Cat and I have been up all night playing Animal Crossing. Cat stirs, wrapping me in his arms as I keep my head on his chest. "Morning." I smile but I do a leap as the ringtone to the opening of the Lion King blares from his baton.
"Are you trying to give me a heart attack?" I glare at him, while I hold my racing chest. Cat saunters forward. "No, I'd be lonely." And oh, here come the puppy eyes. "No, no. Very cute. You owe me breakfast!"
Cat grins. "Alright, Bugaboo. But then we have to get back to the game. I still owe Tom money!" I giggle and burst into laughter. I've got all day and there's nothing else I want to do then hang with my partner while paying back a landlord raccoon.
