"Cat, would you…." Marinette's voice trailed off as she found Cat staring at himself in the mirror. "Meow-ello, beautiful," he said. Marinette giggled. "You are so vain." Cat jumped, turning a bright red color as he scratched the back of his neck. "Oh, hi, love. Didn't see you there?" "yeah, because your ego was in the way," she grumbled goodnaturedly. She took his paw. "Come on, you can help me water the flowers."

Cat's heart was light as they headed up to her balcony where her small garden was. It was still early morning and a bit chilly. The rising sun made Cat's golden bell shimmer. "You have such a pretty bell," Marinette giggled and walked up to Cat. "Maybe we should use this to wake you up with all that snoring," she laughed. Cat crossed his arms, trying to look grumpy. "Excuse me, I purr, not snore."

Marinette begin to flick his bell back and forth, her fingers brushing his skin and Cat let out a little giggle and trill. "Princess, that tickles!" "Oh, really? I guess I'll do it more!" Cat tried to grab her arms but she was to quick, flicking his bell as she chased him around the small balcony. Cat spied a piece of paper and pencil and quickly scribbled, "Stop ringing my bell!" "But I like ringing it," Marinette pouted, its golden tones ringing out clearly in the stillness. "Princess…."

"Fine. I forget my sunhat anyway. Back in a minute!" she said, ducking back into her room. Cat's tail swished as he wanted, trying to stop blushing. Why did she have to be so adorable? Cat's eyes caught sight of the bigger rose bush that Marinette had been carefully. "Payback," Cat whispered, sneaking into the bush. Teach her right, ringing his bell.

Cat heard the skylight creak open and Marinette stepping out. "Cat, where you go?" he heard her ask, and ducked deeper into the bush. "Well, I guess I'll start the watering without you," she said.

The outdoor hose turned on and Cat listened to her footsteps as she watered. As soon as her back was turned, he begin to creep towards her. Placing his hands at her waist he yelled, "Gotcha….Meow!" Marinette shrieked, turning the full force of the hose on her best friend. How had his plan backfired?

Cat stood there wet and dripping with Marinette staring at him. "Love, I am so sorry…" she snorted then cracked up with laughter and Cat couldn't help joining in.

Both Cat and Marinette were glad to get back in where it was warm and Cat wandered over to her closet. He begin to rummage around for something warm to wear when he spotted a red sweater. Cat picked up and put it on, trotting out of the closet a mischievous look to his face. "What's that?" Marinette sat up.

"You were my number one until the hose, Princess. Now its Ladybug all the way! Oof!" Cat ducked the pillow she threw at him. "Nice try, fur ball. You know I'm Ladybug, so I'm still your number one!"

Cat growled playfully. "Will you make me some hot chocolate? It would make me feel better," he said, rubbing against her. "I thought that was kisses, but this works too. But first," Cat's eyes followed her as she opened her chest and drew out a scarf. "Here's something you can admire in the mirror."

Cat sat still as she wound the green scarf around his neck. "Aw, it has little black kitties on it! Just like me! What a scarf!" "Maybe its a collar," she joked, kissing his fluffy hair. "So I can keep an eye on you?" "You wouldn't dare," Cat said. "Just watch me."

Marinette headed towards the door and Cat had to get her back with a pun. "A collar doesn't stop me chatting you up, Princess."

Marinette groaned and they headed downstairs. Soon, Cat had his warm coca but Marinette wanted to cuddle on the couch. "It needs to cool anyway."

Cat was about to reach for his drink a few minutes later, when he heard Marinette's soft breathing as she lay across his lap, holding one of his hands. "Love you, fur ball," she whispered.

Cat's heart warmed hotter then his chocolate. "I meow you, too."
