Third Person POV.

Clementine woke up to the smell of smoke, she flinched her nose at the scent. She had forced herself to wake up.

She lazily placed her dirty hat over her head, and exited her tent. That's when she saw it - one of the tents on fire.

"Shit!" She exclaimed, her eyes widening in fear. "Lee!? LUKE!" She looked around but nobody was there, where has everybody gone off to?

Don't tell me everybody ran off.. she thought. She took another glimpse around her, and everything was now on fire. She couldn't escape. Did everyone really ditch her?

She tried to make a run for it, but whenever she did, she would end up in the same spot as before, like a never ending loop.

This has to be a dream… a nightmare.

But then, all of a sudden, the fire stopped, and she was no longer in the woods.

She was home.

"M-Mom?" She felt herself say. "Oh, Clementine!" her body was brought to an embrace. Tears started to come, but she didn't want to cry.

"I'm so scared, mom," Her mother caressed her hair. "I know honey. But you have to be strong, okay? Don't let people hurt you." Clementine broke the hug and sniffled.

"I don't know if I can for long… I just want to be with you and dad." Her mother sighed and kissed her cheek. "You'll do the right thing. Stay close to those who care for you. I love you, sweetie." and with that, she was gone.

Clementine woke up immediately, her cheeks wet with tears and her ears ringing.

It had been a dream.

She took a peek outside her tent, and saw her group, talking to one another. She gave a sigh of relief.

Like in her dream, she placed her dirty hat over her also dirty hair. She wiped her tears away with the use of her palm, and when she was sure they were all gone, she had gotten up and exited her tent.

Rebecca noticed Clementine and gave her a welcoming smile. "Good morning, Clem. How'd you sleep- Oh my God! Clementine, your wound!" The nineteen year old looked down on her arm armed saw that her sleeve was soaked in blood, she recalled last night's events.

"Oh, yeah. I had forgotten about that. Don't worry Becca, I'm alright." She gave the pregnant woman a reassuring smile, but Rebecca wasn't so convinced. "Okay, I'll make Carlos take a look at it later. Eat something for now, you're the only one left who has yet to eat." She offered an energy bar. Clementine felt a little embarrassed but nodded and took the energy bar from Rebecca.

"Thanks." The woman nodded and sat down next to Alvin. Carlos came out of his tent and looked at the people outside. "We leave in half an hour. Put the tents back in their bags, we can't waste more time."

Luke came back from the woods with Nick and Lee. "See, I told you. You're too pure to be drinkin'." Nick was saying to Luke, while I watched Lee sigh and shake his head. "Ain't nothin' compared to you I guess." Nick smirked at his comment. Lee walked up to Clementine and smiled at her.

"Good morning sweet pea," he started saying and she gave a soft giggle. "How'd you sleep?" Her smile dropped as she recalled her dream. "I.. I slept fine." Lee frowned and crouched next to her. "Honey, if something is wrong, I want to know, okay?"

Clementine gave a small nod, "I know, Lee. But.. can we talk later?" The older man nodded, his eyebrows furrowed together indicating he was upset.

Lee went over to his tent, and started to disarm it. Luke did the same and Nick helped with Alvin's and Rebecca's.

Clementine finished her energy bar and saw Sarah approach her. "Hey Clem!" The girl waved enthusiastically while Clementine let out a chuckle. "Hey Sarah. What's up?" The smaller girl played with her thumbs. "Um, I was wondering if… if you could braid my hair again.. I had to let it go yesterday because dad said."

"Of course! Come on, sit in front of me." Sarah immediately did as she was told, and Clementine began working her fingers in her hair. After a bit, Sarah's hair was braided from over her forehead, to all the way down - a French braid.

"Done." The older girl said, and Sarah touched her hair. "It feels so nice! Thank you!" Sarah gave her a hug, and ran off to her dad, who had been watching the whole time. The younger girl was enthusiastically telling her dad about how Clementine was a great friend, and how she knew to braid.

After she had finished her rant about Clementine, Carlos approached her. "Clementine." The spanish man started saying. She had gotten up, a bit intimidated by his tone. "Yes?" "I appreciate you being there for Sarah. I'm sorry for coming off as rude at first, but I was only trying to protect her. She considers you almost like a sister." Clementine gave a warm smile. A sister… "I'm happy she considers me that way, it's really sweet. You don't have to worry about her wellbeing when she's around me." Carlos gave a smile, and nodded. He walked away to Sarah.

Clementine let out air she didn't know she was holding in.

Minutes passed, and everybody was ready to hit the road again.

A few hours later, Clementine had to help carry some of Alvin's stuff, as he was helping Rebecca walk properly.

"Dad," Sarah started saying to Carlos, tugging on his shirt a little. "I need to pee." Carlos sighed and stopped walking. "Sarah needs to do her business. If you need to as well, do it now, as we don't want to make any more stops."

Clementine dropped the two bags she was carrying and went besides Sarah. "Hey, I'll cover you and you'll cover me, deal?" Sarah nodded, happily.

They walked off into the woods, not too far from the group. "...I'll go too." Nick said, already unzipping his pants and walking into the direction the girls went. "Nuh-uh, you're not." Luke said, turning Nick around. "Go over there." Nick rolled his eyes and went the opposite direction.

Clementine had her back turned on Sarah, as she was crouching and doing her business. The older girl heard her yelp. "Um, everything alright in there?"

"C-C-Clem! I'm… I'm bleeding! Why am I…" Clementine widened her eyes. "Are you bleeding from your, uh, area?" Sarah nodded, although the other female couldn't see. "Y-Yeah, what do I do?" she was hyperventilating, her breathing unbalanced. "Stay right here, okay? I'll go get you some things. Don't move from here." Clementine ran towards the group, concerning Carlos.

"Clementine, where's Sarah?" The amber eyed girl was going through her bag, and picked up a pad. She showed it to her dad, and Luke looked at it confused. Nick walked in from the woods and looked at the pad Clementine was holding with furrowed eyebrows.

Clementine ran back to where she and Sarah were. "I'm here, Sarah, don't worry." Sarah was leaning next to a tree, holding her stomach. "C-Clem! It hurts!"

"Look, Sarah, this happens to every woman, okay? Don't panic, it's completely normal, relax." Sarah's breathing relaxed a little, and nodded, although she was shaking. "Look, put this in your underwear, okay? Like a sticker, so it holds the liquid. I'll be right here." Sarah nodded and took the pad from Clementine, and started doing what she was told.

A few minutes passed, and Sarah was next to Clementine. "It feels like I have a diaper in there.." The older girl laughed, "Yeah, it does, doesn't it?" They both walked back to their group. "Sarah, are you okay?" Carlos immediately asked Sarah, "Yeah… Can Clem tell you about it? It's weird." Sarah said,

"What was that?" Nick asked Clementine, approaching her. "What was what?" She then asked back, confused by his question. "The thing.. The small, white package." Clementine then burst out laughing, Nick seeming confused. "Uh, Nick.." Luke started saying.

"Forget it, let's keep moving." Carlos said, continuing walking with Rebecca, Alvin, Lee (who was now carrying Clementine's bag), Sarah, and Luke. Rebecca seemed to be talking to Sarah about what happened.

Clementine and Nick stayed behind a bit, but they eventually began walking towards them. "So? Come on, I wanna know." The girl let out another laugh. "It's called a pad, it's for girls when they're bleeding from their-" "OH, OH GOD, OKAY, NEVERMIND!" Nick said, a bit louder than he intended and covered his ears. He quickly caught up with the group.

The dark haired girl shook her head, laughing. She eventually caught up with them too.

More hours passed, and it was starting to get dark. Nothing interesting had happened, other than killing a walker here and there.

"We have to stop." Alvin said, motioning towards Rebecca, who was holding her stomach tightly. Carlos sighed and nodded. "Alright. But we cannot sleep with our stomachs empty. Luke, Clementine, do us a favor and go hunt for something. Before it gets too dark." They both nodded and grabbed their weapons, heading into the woods further down.

They had silence surround them, until Luke broke it. "So, Clem, about that kiss.." Clementine started laughing. "Oh gosh, don't tell me you're still thinking about that." Luke shrugged, keeping his weapon in hand.

"Can't say I'm not when I am." The amber eyed girl rolled her eyes at him and kept her eyes peeled. "You're such a Casanova, that it's not even funny." Luke glared at her playfully and caught a glimpse of a squirrel.

"Shh, over there." He motioned over to the ground, and aimed his gun at the small animal. "Don't, it'll attract walkers." "Then what you suggest we do-" Clementine took out a small knife she was carrying. "We use this." She aimed at the animal, who was surprisingly still in the same position, and threw the small knife at it.

"Bullseye!" She said, getting up and going over to the now dead squirrel. "That was amazing, Clem!" Luke complimented her. She held the dead animal and continued walking around, only to see that there were no animals around.

"We better head back, it's getting too dark as well." Luke nodded and placed his machete on his back, and his gun in his back pocket.

They walked towards the area with the fire, and soon enough they were back with their group. The tents were already set up.

"Hey guys, ain't much but it was all we could find." Clementine said, handing the small dead animal to Lee, who placed it in the warm fire to cook.

"Thank you." Rebecca said, looking at both Luke and Clementine.

After it was cooked, they all shared an equal amount of food from the animal, even if it wasn't much. Clementine only took a few bites, before she looked at Rebecca who had finished her food.

The dark haired girl offered her food to the pregnant lady, who just looked guilty. "Are.. are you sure?" Clementine just nodded and smiled. "Pretty sure. That baby needs to eat way more." Rebecca reached in for the food, and gave the other girl a nod in gratitude.

After everybody ate, Nick decided to take watch. Some hesitated at that, but decided to give him a chance. Everybody besides from Nick had gone inside their tents.

Clementine, like the previous night, couldn't sleep. She shut her eyes tightly, hoping that would help her sleep. "Ugh.." she murmured once she opened her eyes again.

"Clem, psst," She heard a whisper from outside. She frowned and got up, slowly so Lee wouldn't wake up.

It was Nick. "What? You tired already?" She teased him. He glared at her a little. "No, but Luke called me to call you over to his tent." He said, smirking. Clementine rolled her eyes, "What does he need me for?"

Nick shrugged. "Dunno. Just go, 'kay? I need to keep watching over y'all." The dark haired female nodded, and headed over to his and Luke's tent. It was slightly opened, so she entered without asking.

Luke immediately shifted from the position he was in, and sat down. The girl could barely see his face, but his cheeks were darker than usual.

"You called?" She asked, taking a seat next to him. "Uh, I did?" Clementine crossed her arms, looking suspicious of him. "Yeah, you did. Nick told me that you called me over." Luke sighed, and massaged his forehead a little.

"That asshole." He murmured. Clementine was starting to get up, "Well, guess I should go then." Luke widened his eyes and held her wrist.

"We can hang out for a bit, if uh, if ya'd like." Clementine laughed quietly and nodded. "Okay, yeah, sure." She sat back down.

They sat, silence in the air. It wasn't awkward, at least Clementine didn't think it was. "It's my birthday in a few days, I think." Clementine got closer, her eyes lighting up. "Really? That's awesome! My birthday is coming up, too. From what I can tell." They both smiled at each other.

They spent some hours talking to each other, like the day in the cabin. They had forgotten all about sleeping.

"So, Clem, tell me, what do you look for in a guy?" Clementine couldn't help but roll her eyes at his question. "I haven't put thought into it. Just someone who treats me right, I guess. Oh, and someone smart. No way am I getting with someone who's as dumb as a bag of hammers." She says, remembering Kenny saying that about his son, Duck.

Luke chuckled, "Okay, fair enough." "How about you? What do you look for in a girl?" Luke placed his hand over his chin, caressing it, as if he was thinking. "First, I'd look for any dog bite she may have." Clementine pushed him playfully, making him fall over his small bedding. "Come onn, stop playing around!" She said, almost whining like a small child. "I'm being one-hundred percent serious."

"But I also like girls who have short dark hair, colored but not too colored eyes, like uh, like amber eyes. I like olive skin.. Strong, independent women, too." Clementine nodded, not realizing he was describing her.

"Uh, Clem.. what I mean is that.." Luke gulped a lump he had on his throat. "I really like ya, ya know?" "Oh." Clementine murmured, surprised by his confession.

"Sorry if that surprised ya, I thought I was makin' it kinda obvious.. I mean, it's fine if ya don't like me, I ain't gonna force you…" Luke kept talking about how sorry he was and Clementine made him stop by placing her lips on top of his.

Luke's eyes widened at the sudden action, but kissed her back. The kiss didn't last long, but it didn't end quickly. When their lips pulled apart, Clementine smiled sheepishly. "You wouldn't shut up."

Luke chuckled and shook his head. "I ain't complaining." They both then shared a hug, before the others' voices were heard from outside.

"We better get goin'."
