Devastated.

That's all they could feel. They had lost everything they have worked for.

"...Will we all be okay, dad?" Sarah's voice echoed in the back of the van. Carlos did not answer, only looked down. The tall girl gave a small pout, looking down as well.

"We'll be okay, Sarah," Clementine said with a weak smile. The girl could only slip away a tear.

All of them were looking down, except for Kenny who was looking around with his eyes. "We have to get out of here," Kenny then spoke up.

Clementine, Lee and Sarita looked up at him. "That's asking for a deathwish," Carlos said, still looking down.

"Well I rather have that motherfuckin' deathwish than sit around doin' nothin'," The man said, glaring at the rest. "Kenny.. Sit down, please.." Clem tried to say before Sarita felt herself nod. "Yes, Kenny, listen to her,"

"No, and y'all know I can't just sit around like everyone else waitin' to get killed by those sonsabitches," The girls sighed and Lee shook his head. "Kenny, think with your damn head, we can put everyone at risk by even attempting to break out of here," he took a pause. "They have GUNS, Ken."

Kenny still wouldn't listen. "Yeah, well, that mean nothin'." Rebecca got tired of him speaking so she shot him a glare, "Oh, really? And what will you do once you get out of here with more than ten men armed?" she asked.

He spoke up again, "I'll punch the first sonuvabitch I see, take his gun, and shoot the next sonuvabitch I see!" Kenny said, scaring Sarita.

"That isn't a plan," Rebecca said, annoyed. "It is to me," Ken said.

"Listen to yourself, Kenny, you're talking and acting recklessly," Lee said, trying to make him see reason. The bearded man ignored him.

"Clem," the girl looked up. "Help me find something sharp." The 19-year old chewed on her cheek and looked at Lee, looking for a reply. He simply shook his head.

She looked back at the Floridian man. "U-Um, like what?" "Anything that could cut these restraints free," she nodded and looked around, finding nothing.

"You're going to get us all killed!" Rebecca whispered angrily. "You can't just fight your way out of a situation like this one!" Carlos said, and Kenny glared at him. "I can't just sit around, no, WE, like a bunch of locked dogs!" Rebecca groaned, "Luke is probably on his way, with a plan, you have to wait for him to help us!"

Carlos nodded, "Yes, she's right. Luke is our only hope at this moment." Kenny stood up, "If he so wanted to help, he'd done it by now!" "AH-HA!" Kenny said, spotting a sharp edge on the tubes next to him. "This will do perfectly," he stood up and started rubbing the restraints on the sharp material.

"You can't reason with this one!" Rebecca angrily said. "Kenny.. I do believe Luke wouldn't be selfish enough to leave us, he'll help." Kenny glared at her as he was rubbing the ropes against the sharp material. "Oh yeah? When? When we're all fuckin' dead?" Clementine widened her eyes.

Lee sighed and stood up, "Kenny, sit the fuck down!"

The truck came to an abrupt halt and Kenny fell to the floor, hitting his head. "KENNY!" Sarita said, rushing to him.

"Shit," Lee whispered but was audible enough for Clementine to hear him. Clementine and Lee, with a worried Sarita, tried to get Kenny to stand but the doors of the truck suddenly opened. Sarah yelped.

"Come on, people! Get 'em moving!" The male guard said. The others came to get the survivors from the cabin. "How the fuck did you get your restraints off?!" The guard said to Kenny, who was quiet. Another guard put other restraints on Kenny's wrists.

"Now you better all be good and don't touch anything!" The guard said as the survivors followed him, others guard in the back with rifles.

"Dad, I'm scared.." Sarah whimpered behind Carlos. "Don't worry sweetheart, everything will be fine." A woman with an afro came towards him. "Carlos, they need you in the clinic." She said. Carlos frowned, "But I'm exhausted.. Can't it be tomorrow after-" Carlos was interrupted by her. "Carver's orders." He sighed in defeat. "Okay." He followed her, and Sarah widened her eyes.

"C-C-Clementine!" Sarah stuttered. "I n-need him!" Sarah cried. Clementine went up to her, at gunpoint by one of the guards. "It's okay, Sarah. He won't take long, I'm sure of it." Sarah sniffles and nodded. "O-Okay."

They proceeded to walk towards a prison looking place. "Get in." One of the guards said. The others did as told.

"Not you, Alvin. Carver needs you in his office." Troy said, making Rebecca widen her eyes. "No! You can't take him!" She said, paranoid. "It'll be okay, Bec. You just take care of the baby and yourself. I'll be fine." he gave her a kiss before leaving with Troy.

Bonnie was closing the fence. "Don't play around the fence, Bill can see you messin' with it." She said before leaving.

Kenny looked around, "They couldn't even afford to close the walls and ceilings?" He remarked, hugging his arms. "Do you think Luke is okay..?" Clementine asked the group, "I'm sure he's fine, Clem." Rebecca answered her, which she nodded, sadly.

"I need my dad.." Sarah said, sniffling. Clementine gave her a hug, "Come here, Sarah. Do you want me to braid your hair again?" They both walked away to some seats, before stumbling upon a man with one arm.

"Oh, hello! I was just on my way to you guys," he said, "Reggie!" Rebecca said, hugging him. "What happened to you?!"

He gave a sheepish smile, "I got in a bit of trouble, but Bill saved my life! If it wasn't for him, I'd be dead. I'm glad you guys are back, it was a bit lonely." Sarah gave him a small hug, before dragging Clementine away.

"Sorry about your arm.." Lee told Reggie, who shrugged. "It beats being dead, so I'll be okay. Carver has given me a lot of chances! He's not as bad as he looks, really," Kenny rolled his eyes, "We'll see about that."

Reggie furrowed his eyebrows together in worry, "Look, I'm supposed to be on watch here, so, would everyone keep it together just this once? If I do a good job, I may get out of this cell- uh, small space." Lee nodded, unsure. "Okay, man." The one armed man smiled and walked somewhere else.

"I don't get a good vibe from him," Kenny told Lee. The other man nodded, "Yeah, but he seems likeable, at least. Try not to mess around too much, Ken, we don't know what these people are capable of." Lee walked away to have small talk with Rebecca about the baby.

Kenny slowly approached Clementine. "Clem," he whispered and Clementine looked at him, "Yeah, Kenny?" Kenny made a motion with his hand to come over where he was.

"I'll be back, Sarah," The small girl nodded and cozied up to the fire.

"I need you to look around this place, to see if there's an opening for us to leave through." Clementine gulped, "Are you sure? Reggie told us to behave well.."

Kenny nodded, "Yes, but I can distract him as you look. We can't stay here Clem, think of Luke. He might be outside, looking for us." That made Clementine sigh, "Fine, go and distract him." Kenny approached Reggie, starting some friendly talk.

Clementine knew it was a bad choice to listen to Kenny when he's not in a right state of mind, but he was right about looking for an opening. They were held captive, and without reason. She knew the others were here before, but Lee, Kenny, Sarita? Matthew and Walter.. They didn't deserve what happened to them. They needed to leave, even if it meant leaving Luke.

She was checking out some planks, seeing them loosely on the walls. Reggie glanced at her, "Hey, girl, could you not mess around with that?" Clementine immediately let go of the plank. Kenny got defensive, "Hey, man. She's only curious of the place, it's natural!" Reggie gave a small glare but let it go.

Clementine continued to look around, glancing at a man laying on the floor. "Hey.." she said, waving. The man only turned his back on her. She sighed and continued looking. She saw a rope, which lead to the roof.

She saw a woman, dirtier than any of them and was alone in her own space. Clementine slowly approached her, "Hey.. I'm Clementine. Seems I'll be staying here for a while. What's your name?" The woman looked at her and didn't respond. Clementine gulped, "Alright, sorry. See you." She said as she walked away, leaving the unknown woman behind.

The 19 year old approached Kenny, "Hey, Kenny?" The bearded man said bye to Reggie, and walked towards her. "What'd you find, Clem?" She gave a tired sigh, "Not much.. But I did find a rope that leads to the roof, but that's about it. It's not big enough and won't hold much weight." He sighed, "Dammit.."

"Clem, can I talk to you?" Nick suddenly asked, from behind Kenny. "Yeah, yeah. I'll be back, Ken." She walked away with Nick, who didn't seem too happy.

"Do you… do you think Luke is lost and.. And maybe dead?" Clementine looked at him, his eyes filled with tears threatening to come out. "The only thing I'm certain of is that.. Luke is probably on his way here, for us. He probably has a plan, like he always does, right?" Nick smiled a little.

"I can't help but worry.. And what happened to Walter and Matthew.. And I'm sorry.. About your arm.." Clementine gave him a sad smile, "You didn't mean it. Plus, I'm glad you shot me instead of Matthew, that could've ended bad." They shared a pained laugh. "Yeah, you're probably right." There was a small pause. "You should rest, Nick." He smiled and flicked her hat, "I should be telling YOU that. I've been here before… you need a lot of rest, they'll be pulling at your ass from now on." She sighed, "Okay, I'll go say goodnight." He nodded and claimed his bed.. Or floor.

Clementine walked towards Lee, "Lee, I'm getting some sleep, you should too." He nodded, "Okay, sweet pea." She smiled as she saw him go to the beds. The 19-year old then walked to Sarah.

"Sarah, you need to sleep. Let's go," Sarah held her arm and they both walked to the uncomfortable looking beds. "Can I sleep with you?" The small girl asked, to which Clementine nodded, "Sure."

Both girls got comfortable on the floor, as best they could, and shortly after everyone started heading to sleep.

Clementine closed her eyes and induced in a deep sleep.

-Clementine's POV-

I felt a rough kick on my ribs. I groaned and opened my eyes slowly. Waking up to the face of the person who locked you up isn't fun.

He was glaring at me, so I glared back. "Don't kick me again." I said, my voice firm, yet tired. "Well, don't give me a reason to and get your fuckin' ass off the bed and join the rest!" He said, no, yelled, while waving his gun around.

I let out a small groan and got up, noticing Sarah gone from beside me. She must be with the others. I got up and joined the others. I noticed Carlos was back, looking like he didn't get a lot of sleep.

I stretched my back, and I heard a few bones crack. I let out a sigh of relief, but then worry made its way to my face, as Carver entered our cell.

"Good morning folks, I hope you all had a good night's sleep." Everyone was quiet. "There has been an increase of walkers as of late, so please keep in mind of the walls." He looked towards us. "Just know we are taking care of the situation. Now.. some folks here might be sore about what happened, but that's all in the past now." I saw Rebecca glare at him. I saw Carlos had come back, but Alvin was nowhere to be seen…

Carver and I made eye contact. I gulped. "Some of you are new to this community, some of you came back from going.. Astray. But know that redemption can be reached and earned through hard work and dedication to this community." He proceeded to talk about what we would be doing from now on, but I couldn't listen.

"How'd you sleep, Clem?" I heard Sarah whisper from besides me. I said a quiet "Shh." It seems she didn't hear me, as she kept on talking. "I slept horrible. I woke up with pain on my back and neck, I think my muscles are sore too!" I closed my eyes and said another shh, but more louder this time. "And then that guy came up to me and kicked me on my leg to wake up-" "CARLOS!" Carver's sudden outburst made Sarah and the others stiffen in their place. "Yes?" he said with a sigh.

"You daughter seems to be in need of correction!" I heard Sarah yelp and taking a step back. "I'm sorry.. I.. Sarah.. A-Apologize to Mr. Carver." I closed my eyes but opened them quickly. "I-I'm sorry, s-sir." Sarah said while looking down and holding her hands. "Np, no, that ain't gonna cut it. I can't have this kind of behaviour on day one of your reform. You discipline her now, Carlos!" Carver said and pointed to him.

He wasn't going to make him slap her.. Was he?

"How do you propose that I-" Carlos asked, "One good smack across the mouth should do it. It'll make her think twice before opening it up again while I talk." I bit my lip, sensing what was coming. Everyone had their eyes wide opened, feeling sorry for them.

"I…. I'm not sure that with my hand I could-" he was interrupted once again. "Well that's why you got two hands, Carlos. Come on, do it! And I better not see any namby pamby shit, alright? Otherwise, Troy here can do it for ya, and he can be a bit… overzealous. Is that the word?" So the guy who kicked me was named Troy.. okay.

He looked pissed, "If it means that I'll smack the shit out of her, then yeah." I looked to him, Carlos, Carver and lastly Sarah. She looked really scared. I took a step up, "Hey, look it's my fault-" I tried to say, but Troy started walking towards me with his rifle. "No one's fucking talking to you!" Carver motioned him to stop. "Unless you want one of what she's about to get, I'd pipe down missy." I glared at him and I heard Lee say my name.

"No, this is messed up. She made a mistake, you can't force Carlos to do such a thing-" "Clementine.." Lee said again. "Troy." Carver said, now motioning towards me again, and Troy came up to me and slapped me. Hard. I didn't realize I had almost fallen down, if it wasn't for Lee holding me. "You son of a-" A woman pointed a gun at him before Lee could do anything.

"Now." Carver told Carlos, and he winced, seeing his daughter scared. "I'm sorry dad, I'm sorry." she said, her voice breaking. "Close your eyes honey, it'll only sting for a second." He took a few seconds before slapping her, sending her to the ground. He looked guilty and immediately started apologizing.

"Stop! You're not coddling and spoiling that girl anymore. Let her sit there and think about what she's done." I didn't notice Lee rubbing my marked cheek.

"Troy, get Carlos to his post. Everyone else should have their assignments planned out. It's time to get to work, people." Carlos started walking away and Lee and I helped Sarah up.

"You're working on the armory, follow me," the lady with the big afro told me, so I followed her, my cheek still stinging.

As I was walking, I heard something snap. "Soil coming down!" I looked up and immediately walked towards the side, a big bag of soil hitting the ground. "God damn this thing.." I looked up and it was the same woman who ignored me last night. "Oh, shit." she said, but the lady who I was supposed to be following called for me, so I ran to catch up.

I wonder how she came to this place. As I walked behind the woman who was walking me to my workplace, I saw two women. "Who's she?" The little girl asked, she looked older than Sarah. "She's one of the new people. She was with Carlos and Sarah and-" The smaller girl interrupted the other one. "Ugh, ew, Sarah? I wish she stayed gone. She's so annoying." I glared at them and kept on walking. "She has been having a hard time, Becca." I couldn't catch what the other one said, as I was already too far from them. I definitely don't like the small girl..

"Go on inside, Bonnie's waiting." the woman said, opening a door. I nodded and went inside, to see Bonnie sitting in front of a small table and another chair. I sat down in front of her. "Hey, I guess you're starting today with me." she said, I could only nod. "We're loading magazines." I grabbed one and started loading it with bullets. "Hey, you're pretty good, huh?" I looked at her and continued loading it.

"You're… probably mad at me. I don't blame you, that was really.. Not a good thing I did." She said, looking guilty. I listened to her, loading more magazines. "I really hope we can get to know each other better, I'm not.. I don't consider myself a bad person. I'm just someone struggling to stay alive." I let out a sigh. "I understand but.. Why drag innocent people into this?" I asked, surprising myself at the question, even.

"W-Walter and Matthew.." I could sense Bonnie stiffen in her seat. "I'm sorry about your friends. We were caught up in a bad situation, and bad things continued to happen. I hope we can make it up to you." I set another a magazine down, and move on to another one. "Carver's to blame anyway..he pulled the trigger." I said, glaring at the magazine on my hands. "Yeah, but.. I didn't do anything to help the matters." She said, looking guilty.

It got quiet for a minute before she started getting something from a bag beside her.

"I.. I found this in a storage yesterday. I was going to keep it for me, but it's really cold where you're stayin', and you don't have a jacket. Please, take it." She said, holding a purple jacket with some designs. I looked at it for a second, and then at her, before taking it.

"Thank you, Bonnie." I said, giving her a smile. She smiled back, grabbing a magazine. "How was your first night in the yard?" She asked me, while I put the jacket on. "It was.. Uncomfortable, and cold, but I'm sure it won't be that much of a problem now with my cool jacket," I said, joking. She let out a laugh, but it quickly died down.

"I was going to escape too." she suddenly said, scaring me a bit.

"Huh?" I said, looking at her. "You were going to escape this place with the others, too? Why didn't you?" I let myself ask, I admit I was very curious.

"I was supposed to go. When Luke and Carlos and all of them left, I was plannin' on leavin' too. If I'm honest.. I was too chicken to actually leave." My lips formed a pout. "They never mentioned you leaving with them." I said.

She looked a bit taken back, "Really? I.. I thought at least Luke would. I guess it's understandable.. I'm basically untrustworthy to them, now." I sighed at the mention of Luke. "He did make it, didn't he?" She asked me, and I shrugged.

I wasn't going to tell her about Luke still being alive, I still don't trust her as much.

She sighs, "I know Carver did bad things.. Maybe Luke was right about him. I wish he was around, but.. I just hope he's safe." I nod, "I think the same."

The static noise in her walkie talkie startled us. "Hey, Bonnie, is that girl still with you? I need to go get her." It was the woman from before. Bonnie grabbed the walkie talkie and replied, "Yeah, she's here." The other woman said she's on her way.

I sighed and she gave me a sad smile, "I'm sure you'll be fine. I'm glad we got to talk for some time, I really hope we become good friends." I smiled at her, "Yeah, I think the same, Bonnie. Thank you so much for the jacket, it's really warm." She smiled, "Yeah, of course. I'm glad to have helped ya." The woman from before came in, and grimaced. "What's with the ugly jacket?" The woman asked, getting closer. I let out a laugh, "Tavia!" Bonnie said, "What?" Tavia asked.

"Nevermind. I'll see you later, Clementine." I nodded and waved bye at her, walking away with Tavia.

It was quiet during the walk, so I spoke up. "Have you been here long?" I asked her, making her look at me for a split second. "You can say that." She replied. I didn't think she wanted to talk, so I didn't say anything else.

We walked up the stairs, and there was a garden protected by glass. It was amazing how they could grow all these stuff when the world is like this.

I went inside, and I found Sarah curled up in a corner. "Oh, honey.." I said, approaching her. "Are you okay, Sarah?" She didn't say anything.

"I know that must've been pretty tough to take." I proceeded to say. "My dad's never hit me before.. Even when I was really bad. He never hit me." I kneel down with her, and hold her hand. "Your dad didn't want to hit you. Carver made him do it. He's the bad guy, not your dad." I smiled, "So, in a weird way, Carver's the one who hit you, not your dad."

"I guess so.." she said with a slight smile. "Well, Carver hits super hard then, cause it still hurts a lot." I giggled with her and rubbed her red cheek. "Thank you for trying to help, Clem.." She said, and I nodded.

"Of course, we're friends, right?" She smiled and nodded, but her expression turned cold again. "I don't understand why people are so mean.. Even when I'm really angry, I don't wanna hurt anyone.." I sighed, "Well, Sarah, sometimes people don't know how to control themselves and it ends up hurting other people. Don't think too much of it."

When I stopped talking, the door opened.

-3rd person-

"Don't mess this up," Tavia said as she opened the door for Reggie. "Yeah, I get it." The one-armed man said. "Reggie's in charge here, okay? Listen to him carefully." She said, giving both girls a look. "Yeah, thanks Tavia."

Tavia left and shut the door. The man turned to the girls. "Okay, we have to do a good job, guys. The camp is counting on us." Clementine raised an eyebrow and Sarah looked down. "Come, your job is super easy."

Clementine put her arm behind Sarah, and led her to the table. "Okay, so pick up a pair of shears." Clementine did so, and waited for Sarah to do so as well. She looked upset.

-Clem's POV-

Reggie proceeded to teach us how to cut and collect the leaves and berries. It wasn't a hard task, really. I started doing what he told us to do as soon as he turned his back on us, and I could feel that Sarah wasn't moving at all. I sighed. Reggie approached me.

"Hey, so, is she going to be okay?" I bit my lip at the question. "Because what happened down there.. That was straight fucked up. I don't want her freaking out and getting me in trouble." He said, I raised an eyebrow. Of course all he cared about was himself.

"Don't worry, I'll take care of her." I said, which made Reggie smile. "Good.. good. Cause I'm awful at that stuff." I let out a smile. "Look, Carver's been chewing on my butt ever since I helped those guys escape. I gotta concentrate on my work, please." I nodded, even though he was a bit self-centered, I see where he's coming from.

"Alright, don't worry, Reggie." He smiled and messed with my hat a little bit. I smiled awkwardly. "Ooookay, that was awkward, I won't do that again. I'm gonna go work now." he said and I nodded, he walked away.

I proceeded to cut off another dead leaf, when Sarah caught my attention. She was standing still, holding onto the shears like it was dear to her. I sighed and went over to her.

"Sarah, look at me. Watch how I do it." I said, and showed her how to cut and collect the leaves and berries. "Now you do it like me, okay?" I said, like she was a small child. She copied my movements and I stayed with her for a few minutes before proceeding with my own. I tried to do mine a bit quicker, as I had wasted time with Sarah.

We were both halfway done when we heard Reggie murmur something. I looked where he was looking and Carver was making his way over to us. "Crap," I widened my eyes and told Sarah to be faster.

Carver came in, a smile on his face. "Just checkin' in, seeing how the new girls are doing." He said, and we all stood in fear. He checked the half full small baskets, and scowled. "Reggie. You've been here for an hour, what the fuck have they been doing?" Reggie looked scared shitless. I got close to Sarah and held her shoulders. I could tell how stiff she was.

"Look, Bill, they're new and me with my arm, it's just me and, it's not easy- me, and my one arm-," Reggie was interrupted by Bill. The one-armed man was clearly nervous.

"Shut up, shut up! Shut the fuck up!" Bill scowled, now very angry. "You better have a good explanation, and I mean NOW." .. "Bill, p-please, I just-" .. "Sounds like you're about to give me an excuse when I asked for an explanation," Carver said, giving him his best glare.

"Bill, we'll get it done, just give us more time, please-" Reggie begged, "I gave you an easy task to do and you fail. Time's up, Reggie. You failed." Carver said. I stepped in.

"L-Look, sir, Reggie didn't do anything wrong, I was the one who should've been more helpful-" I tried to say, to defend him, anything that would leave Reggie alone. "Nah, this ain't your fault." Carver told me, and I gulped. Sarah held my hand tightly.

"We talked about this, Reggie. Didn't we? But you, you just don't get it, do you?" Reggie looked scared and confused. "G-Get what? I-I-" He was interrupted once again.

"Girls, why don't you wait outside? Reggie and I need to talk." I nodded and led Sarah outside, before I could close the door, Reggie said "Thanks for the help, girls." I couldn't tell if he meant that or not.

I sighed, and saw Sarah walk closer to the building's edge. "Sarah, honey, are you okay?" I asked, getting worried. She has been through alot, and this whole ordeal wasn't helping the poor girl.

"Sarah, are you feeling alright-" I almost touched her shoulder, when the doors to the internal garden suddenly opened, having Reggie been pushed by Carver. I widened my eyes and grabbed Sarah by the arm, holding to me closely.

"NO, NO, NO, NO! BILL, PLEASE, PLEASE, OH MY GOD BILL, PLEASE!" Carver was cornering him in the edge, he was towering him and trying to push him off. "Carver, no!-" I tried to help.. I tried to stop it, but it was too late.

Carver had pushed Reggie off the rooftop. I looked down the edge, and there he was, head crushed against the pavement. His blood everywhere. Reggie..

"Weakness.. Incompetence.. It puts us all at risk, and it won't be tolerated. You think about that the next time you're asked to do something." Carver told Sarah and I, but we were in shock. I turned to see Sarah, and the poor girl was holding her hands together and eyes wide, almost bulging out.

"You didn't have to kill him for such a small mistake-," I tried to say, but Carver started glaring at me. "I'd watch that precious little mouth of yours if I were you. Get downstairs, Bonnie's got something for you to do." I stood in place, looking at Sarah. "Go!" he yelled, and I nodded, quickly leaving. Before leaving, I took a glance and he grabbed Sarah's shoulder and started talking to her.

I got downstairs, and found Bonnie on her knees picking up some tools and putting them in a Howes bucket. "Hey, so, they want ya to run some supplies to the guys working on the exterior. Real simple," I nodded and took the bucket, looking to the side.

"That jacket looks really nice on ya. Tavia is delusional," She proceeded to say, I bit my lip and furrowed my eyebrows. I couldn't help it..

Bonnie looked worried, "Clementine? What's wrong?" I looked at her in the eyes and sighed, "I… I saw Reggie die." I slowly said. Bonnie's eyes widened. "What? What are you talking about?"

"Carver, he pushed him off the roof!" I whisper-yelled. "Maybe.. Maybe it was just an accident." She tried to justify, but I shook my head. "Bonnie, stop making excuses for him. I saw, and so did Sarah." Bonnie looked at me, and then around us. She got close to me, "Listen, Clementine. Bring these stuff to the boys and come straight here. Be careful, okay? Now ain't the time to be calling attention to yourself." I nodded.

She opened a door and I followed in. "Troy!" I scoffed at the name, "Clem's just gonna take them boys some nails!" she yelled and I could see him nod, "Alright." "Go on," she said before going back inside.

I looked behind me, and Reggie's body still laid on the pavement. I would've covered my mouth if they weren't holding the bucket. "Hey! That ain't your concern, just take them nails to the boys! Just follow them cables." I followed the cables and ended up in a big store like room.

Kenny and that mysterious man I saw last name were there. They were arguing no less. "I ain't nobody's laborer. Fuck this, let 'em do this!" I heard Kenny yell, holding the other man with his fists. They bickered some more, so I decided to break it up.

"Guys.. guys, stop! Reggie's dead! Carver killed him!" I told them, hoping it'd help them get confuse and stop.

"What..?" Kenny asked, "What? Are you sure-" the other man was interrupted by the sound of the wood on the windows breaking, along with the glass, thanks to the walkers. "Shit!" "Fuck!" "Get them!"

I didn't have any weapon, and I had to look around, and fast. I could hear Kenny and the other man kill some walkers behind me. I spotted a hammer, and I hit it in the skull of a walker near me.

Troy, who had heard the screams, entered the room. "What the fuck did you two do?!" He yelled at Kenny and the man, who finished killing the last walker. "Mike, fix this shit up. Old man, help him. I don't wanna hear shit from you both!" I put the hammer down. "And you," he pointed at me. "Go back to Bonnie's, NOW." I nodded and left the room.

I sighed. I walked down the same route I came from, when a pair of hands came out of nowhere and covered my mouth. "Shh, shh! It's-" I bit the stranger's hand. "Ow! Clem, it-it's me!" I stepped away from him, and saw Luke.

"Damn, I think you drew blood." He said, holding his hand. I immediately hugged him, tears swelling up in my eyes. "You big idiot, you had us all worried!" He weakly hugged me back, "I'm sorry muffin.. It's nice to see you doing well." I kissed his face multiple times, not letting him go.

"As much as I'd be happy to spend the day here with you, we don't have much time." Luke told me, and I stopped hugging him. "What's wrong?" I now noticed how pale he looked.

"Look, listen, I followed y'all here as best I could, hadn't had a night's rest y'all got nabbed..and, well, this's the first chance I got to talk to somebody." I touched his cold cheek. "They're everywhere, okay? They got guards. Watchin' everything." I could sense the worry in his voice.

"There's a herd south of us, and it's gonna hit this place. I know it is," he said, standing up. "Yeah, I heard Carver talking about that." I told him softly. "Is it bad?"

He nodded, "Yeah, I don't know when it'll hit, but we gotta be ready," he said, his vision drifting towards something else in the room. I frowned, "Lukey.. Are you feeling okay?" I asked, grabbing his hand. He shook his head, as if to break out of his trance.

"No, no, I-I mean, yeah, yeah. I'm okay. Just...just need some sleep, but I'll be okay, I am okay. Don't worry about me," "Lukey, no, I'll-" He grabbed my arm, weakly. "Clementine, stop worrying about, shit, shh, shh," he said, looking at the door. There was a couple of steps before it went away.

"Look, we need a plan, alright?" I nodded, not happy the way he avoided the topic at hand. "I need you to meet me here tomorrow, around the same time, alright?" I looked confused, so he continued.

"I need you to get me one of those radios, those uh, walkie-talkies. Do you think you can do that? I just need to be able to tell y'all about the guards, just, they're all over the place, but I'll figure out their patrols, so I'll be able to keep a look out for y'all while I'm here." I took everything he told me in.

"Okay, Luke. I'll get you one. Where are they?" He smiled and then frowned, "I think they keep them in the stockroom, I ain't completely sure, but keep a look out for the charging station, I think they keep them there at night." I nodded, "Okay, Luke. I'll do everything I can to get one, I promise." He smiled at me and kissed my cheek.

"Good, muffin, good. I just really need one of them radios, just-" "Clementine! Get out where I can see ya!" Troy's voice rang out from outside. Shit.

"Go, Muffin, be careful." Luke said, giving me a quick peck on the lips before hiding behind a counter. I took a deep breath and went outside.

As soon as I came out, Troy came behind me, strutting with his rifle. "The hell were you doing in there?" He demandingly asked. "I.. was looking at the comic books. There's a room full of them. Reminds me of my childhood," I answered, the lie slipping through my teeth.

"Yeah? No fuckin' shit. Don't distract yaself, or you'll be meetin' the back of my hand, girlie. Understood?" I gulped, "Yes, sir."

"Now, Bill radioed. He wants to have a word with ya, so meet him in his office, so go. Now." Troy said, and before he could take a step up, I ran away to Bill.

I stopped running after I was inside, and I saw Carver's office. I could see Rebecca inside, talking to him. A man approached me, he had long blonde hair, a beard, and glasses. "Dude, you better get up and see Bill. He doesn't like to wait." I stopped walking and made my back face him. "I know, that's what I'm doing." I snapped, "Okay, do it then." He said before walking away.

I was getting annoyed at these so called guards. I walked up the stairs to Carver's office, and Rebecca was walking down, in tears. "R-Rebecca?" I asked, worried, but she ignored me and walked away.

"She's a strong woman, surrounded by weak men. I ain't lettin' my kid get raised around like that. Get in here." His voice made the hairs on the back of my neck rise up. I followed him in his office.

I gasped when I saw Alvin, all bloody on a chair. I felt Carver's hand on my shoulder.
