QueenNaberrie: I didn't think of that but its possible. Too true, the police force would have been surprised that she'd have that much better manners than her brother. Its an odd friendship but seems to work for them so far. Thanks.
BlueGreen216: I don't know either. Well I think some of the events didn't happen far apart but others may have taken longer to happen like Lyra meeting Lestrade and Anderson but I'm not sure. I don't think she would be on the cases the same way her brother was. I think she could be a detective like Sherlock if she wanted to or if she was thrust into a situation where she had to be but her current job is more her calling so she'll probably just do evaluations of killer's mental state. I didn't think of that, I haven't really taken them many places so far. Thanks.

A black car pulled up besides John and Anthea got out. "Well I haven't done this in a while," John said. He hadn't expected Mycroft to do this again not since Sherlock was gone. Sherlock was gone. John's stomach tightened into knots at the thought.
She didn't say anything besides asking John to follow her. They rode in silence, Anthea not bothering to take her eyes off her phone.
Just like the last time, John thought. He wondered what Mycroft could possibly want with him. He hadn't done anything to endanger national security. His life had gone back to some sense of normal since Sherlock's death. Now he was going to meet the British Government in some building somewhere for unknown reasons.
"You know you could call me for once," John said once he was there. "It can't be that hard for you to obtain my number."
"I prefer a more personal touch," Mycroft said. "Now about why you're here." John waited impatiently for Mycroft to answer and as Mycroft sifted slightly and leaned on his umbrella John couldn't help think the older Holmes brother looked awkward? uncomfortable? nervous? It wasn't something he had seen from Mycroft before and it was making John uneasy. "You've met my sister haven't you?"
"Yeah. Is there another Holmes sibling I should know about?" He hadn't meant it as a serious question. Well maybe part of him had. Really what else had Sherlock been hiding from him? He had thought he knew him but he hardly knew anything about him at all.
"No." John thought Mycroft might have hesitated but for the sake of his own sanity he didn't comment on it. "You two have bonded, haven't you?"
"We're just friends. There's no reason for a hurt her and die speech." Maybe he should have expected this. He had a sister himself so he could understand where Mycroft was coming from. The Holmes siblings were so divided though and John didn't understand why. What had Lyra ever done to Mycroft and Sherlock or vice versa?
"I think you can understand my concern," Mycroft said. "Don't let anything happen to her."
"Not what I expected."
"You took care of Sherlock. I think keeping Lyra out of trouble will be easier to manage. I hope so at least." He hadn't exactly kept Sherlock out of trouble. Lyra wasn't drawn to danger the way her brother had been but after how he had let Sherlock down he couldn't understand why Mycroft would trust him with her.
"I didn't take of Sherlock all that well."
"You did better than you think John. You were good for him and you're good for her too. Now you better be getting back."
"That's it? There's no one after her, is there?"
"She's safe John. I just want to make sure that she stays that way." With that Mycroft walked off. At least the car was still outside. John hoped he could get a few hours sleep but he wasn't counting on it. He wondered what Lyra would say when he told her about this. She wasn't going to take it well.
