JinxedMemories here!
I'M SORRY, I'M SORRY, I'M SORRY, I'M SORRY, I'M SORRY! I really did plan on uploading this earlier but I hadn't finished and I didn't know how to do Ventus' story. I've left this story for more than 4 months - I feel ashamed of myself... Next time I leave this story for longer than 4 months Hell would have frozen over.
Mehhhh I can provide an answer as to why I've not updated, but if you read my fic 'Goodbye...' then you'll know because it's for the same reasons as the note on that fic. I don't wanna waste your time here by telling you my stupid personal issues and all.
VaniVen and Akuroku fluff! Roxas character delevopement via Lenaura and TerraVen if you read want to thing of it that way (sorta... slightly...) FINALLY - Their love lives are making progress!
FACTOID OF THE CHAPTERRR (^w^) I have my own piano! What? That's a boring fact? I can play the piano. What? Still not enough? I have a guitar and I can play that too? Not good enough? Jeesh, welp, I'm think about starting up a youtube account where I'll be covering songs and doing 'dramatic' readings of my fanfictions and other peoples (if I get permission).

"So, Ventus, what do you have now?" Lenaura asked the blonde who she'd managed to calm down from his pissed off state of mind. It was finally the end of first period and Lenaura, being the smartest girl on Earth, had forgotten her timetable!
"I have… Um…English!" Roxas answered scanning over the neatly written out timetable that, no doubt, Ventus had spent ages on, considering the fact it was coloured in, written in glittery gel pens and decorated with all sorts of little patterns (y'know like swirls and just those things you'd doodle all over your school booksw).
"Okay dokey lokey! If you have English I have it too! We all have pretty much the same timetable and me being super awesome am in all the same groups as you. You know the groups are sorted by ability right? Does that mean you're a bit on the dumb side, or are I a bit on the smart side?" She grinned as she asked the question; Roxas knew she was being serious though. It looked as if she was 'blushing' out of embarrassment from asking such a question too.
"I'm sure you're smart. You just don't apply yourself as much as you could."
"You sound like my sister…" Lenaura, acting childish, stuck her tongue out. She was happy because 'Ventus' was acting happy. Roxas smiled.
"You mean Aurora?" Roxas asked making sure he got the name right.
"Uh-huh. She's a bit, what's the word... different. Not in a bad way just not many people understand her properly." Lenaura explained as they walked. "She's overprotective sometimes but, despite that, her 'I'm so cool and nothing you say will get to me' attitude is just hiding how vulnerable she really is. Aurora is easily hurt by words and actions and it's not because she doesn't want her image to be ruined but it more of the fact she doesn't want others to worry about her. I guess that's what happens to people who grew up like us…" Lenaura became very quiet all of a sudden and at this time Roxas took time to process the words and realise how much they related to him.
"Come on~! We'll be late at this pace!" The girl grabbed Roxas' hand and they ran down the empty corridor to get to their next lesson. Her hand was unusually warm…
When they arrived it turned out that the teacher wasn't even there yet and they felt so relieved.
"I'm glad we got here in time…" Roxas said taking deep breaths in between each word. Who knew she could run so fast? "Thanks Lenaura…" He looked over at the blonde girl who'd literally dragged him to the classroom to find her on the floor. His eyes widened in panic. She was breathing heavily, her face flushed and she looked as if she was in pain.
"Lenaura?! Lenaura, are you okay?!" He touched a hand to her forehead. Her body was warmer than the sun during a particularly hot summer day. She had a fever. No doubts. Just then the teacher walked in.
"Everyone sit down!" He shouted not noticing the girl who lay there on the floor.
"Sir, can I take Lenaura to the nurse's office?" Roxas asked and he was given a hallpass. He left the room with Lenaura propped up on his back and he walked.
Only thing was…
He didn't know where to go…
"Lenaura… It'll be okay. I'll help you." He tried to comfort her as she inhaled sharply all of a sudden.
"Straight down the corridor, left and down the stairs…" She said breathlessly. Roxas nodded and followed the instructions.
"You've changed a lot Ventus…" She continued to speak.
"Don't stress yourself. Come on we're here." Roxas replied as he opened to door to a woman. Was that… Aerith?! Roxas remembered her. She was the one who set up Leon and Cloud, partially at least. She was really pushy and so was that other girl, Rina, Rinoa, Rinn or whatever her name was. Getting back to reality though,
"Lenaura's got a really bad fever. Could she be able to go home?" Roxas asked and Aerith nodded.
"I'll see if anyone can take her home," she smiled "but in the meantime could you stay with her?"
"Okay." Was the reply from the blonde boy who had just taken a deep breath in. Aerith got up and left the room.
"It'll be okay. Nothing bad is gonna happen. Your mum or dad will get you home and then you'll be taken care of and everything will be fine." Roxas spoke softly. Just like… When Xion got sick… He'd always looked after Xion; she was special to him. Not like Ventus was his twin or Sora was a really good brother but Xion was the only girl and she was always making sure everyone was smiling and happy and just generally nice. Sure she was quiet around him and her other brothers but she grew close to them. She was special to all of them. Just then Lenaura mumbled something and gave a small smile.
"What?" Roxas asked.
"No one…" She spoke. "No one will come get me. Aurora's the only one who cares." She let out a weak laugh and sighed.
"That's not true! I'm sure your parents-"Roxas stopped and saw Lenaura forcing a sad but bright smile. So that's what she meant… Aerith walked back in.
"It turns out that no one can come pick her up. She lives at an orphanage and the carers there are busy with the younger children. She'll stay here until the end of the day and her sister will come pick her up. You can go back to class now but you're welcome to visit her during lunch break." Roxas turned to walk back class when the nurse stopped him. "Ventus, how is Cloud doing? Are he and Leon still, you know." Roxas nodded and she thanked him before letting him go for real this time. Wow… Who knew such a bright smile hid something so dark? She wasn't so different from him, really, if you think about it. Ah it wasn't really his business anyway. Why would he have known about Aurora's past?
Uh…
How did he get back to class again?
"Lemme think… It was… Up the stairs and right, right?" Roxas monologued to himself reversing the direction he was given on the way down. "Then straight down the corridor!" Huh. He'd actually managed to get back to class. He knocked on the door and entered. The whole class turned and looked at Roxas expectantly.
"Aurora's in the infirmary until the end of school?" Roxas asked wondering if he'd given the correct answer to their stares. The class looked away. Yes! He'd given the correct answer. Roxas – 1, Other Team – 0! He took his seat and paid attention to the 'super duper amazingly awesome and fascinating' sounding lesson on POETRY! Haha. No. Roxas hated poetry, so he just let the words go in one ear and out the other.
Thankfully enough, the lesson was finished in not too much time. Yeah it was an still an hour and five minutes but it seemed less okay?
He exited the classroom as soon as the bell rang and sighed. Just listening to rhyming words and stuff made him feel sick. He never liked poetry but it was more tolerable when he thought of it as spoken songs. He had no problem with songs! What did he have next…? He looked at his timetable.
YAY!
Music! He probably wouldn't break down of whatever again so it seemed like fun! Then realization hit. He didn't know the way. Unless… He asked Axel… HA NOPE. No way. Knowing him and his tightly knit group of bullies he'd know about the incident and all, and then he'd ask questions and god damn… He was in his class anyway so what the hell. What did he have to lose? So he made up his mind quickly. Where was the red head anyway?
He spotted him and reached out a hand to grab his… but on second thought he could just follow him. Though, by then, he was already holding Axel's hand.
"Huh? Ventus? Wait… Roxas?" Axel questioned looking at the blonde who was frozen on the spot as he realized what had just happened.
"Hey! Axel! Fancy seeing you here…" Roxas awkwardly laughed looking away from the taller of them. Gosh darn it…
"You want something?" Axel asked in a rather monotone voice. Hmm. He didn't seem like someone who knew about the big argument from yesterday.
"You know how I don't know my way around? Could you take me to music?" The red head grinned and pulled the boy along to their next lesson. Roxas made a mental map of the way to the classroom in his head as Axel lead the way. It wasn't until they reached their destination that Roxas started to blush. He was still holding Axel's hand tightly. It was a nice feeling but now he was conscious of what the feeling was from he was a bit fidgety. What? He didn't think anything of it. He'd held other people's hands before!
"So Roxas, how are you gonna thank me?" Axel wondered and he mischievously smiled at the blushing boy.
"Uh… Um, well… I, uh…" Roxas searched his brain for an answer to the question.
"How about you give me a kiss?" Oh no… he didn't… Did he…? He didn't… He actually asked for a kiss…
'What do I do? What do I do?! I don't know?! Does he mean lips? Cheek? Hand? Oh god… Think, Roxas! Think! Do I even like him that way? I don't know? Does he like me that way?!' Roxas' eyes widened. Then he did the most stupid thing. He went for the lips. The blonde tip toed and wrapped his hands around Axel's neck and inhaled. He gently placed his lips against Axel's and kissed him. He went slowly at first and he could swear he felt a spark of some sort… Or something. You know it could have been anything. Next he let his tongue out to lick the other's bottom lip experimentally, only to be met by Axel's tongue. Frickle frackle… They were French kissing in the corridor! Thank god no one was around…
Roxas pulled away and bit his lip.
"T-that was m-my first k-k-kiss…" Roxas stuttered shyly looking down. Axel felt like a complete asshole. He was joking but he wouldn't deny it was a pretty good kiss… But damn he stole his first kiss. He wasn't sure whether to feel bad or joyous. Both probably.
"Don't worry. You were pretty skilled." Axel smiled and he then went into the class room, Roxas following not too far behind but far enough to keep suspicions low. The duo was met by the teacher's glare then cold words to go sit down and get to work.
~Meanwhile~
"Really?! You cried on a roller coaster? Oh my gosh!" Ventus laughed at Vanitas' embarrassing moment he'd decided to share. They were waiting for their turns to rehearse their lines. The script was… long to say the least. I mean if you include the songs, complicated stage directions and the pronunciation of all those long word that confused Ventus - well you could say he was attached to another object by an inclined plane, wrapped helically around an axis.
Yep he was pretty much screwed.
"You have to tell me something you've never told anyone before then." Vanitas said smugly.
"Ehh?!"
"It's called: Equivalent exchange. It's only fair." Ventus puffed his cheeks out in angry defeat.
"Fine… Okay then… How about…? Ah ha! Got one! Okay this happened a few years ago and I was scarred for life by the end of it. Basically what happened was me and Roxas were getting ready for our birthday party and my brother, Cloud, thought it'd be a great idea to take us to his friends place. It was a weapon shop. Not the best place for 8 year olds to be roaming about in right? Anyway that's not really the point. You see the friend who owned the shop was also Cloud's best friend-boyfriend. Basically he'd invited all our friends over and we had so much fun but at the end it was just me and Roxas and Sora and Cloud and his friend. Wait have I told you his name? No I don't think I have… Anyway he's called Leon and oh my gosh you have no idea how weird it was. Since Cloud just disappeared we went to find him and long story short the two of them were frickle fracking and our innocence was thrown out the window and run over by a truck, on loop, hundreds of times and we each of our innocence took turns being run over." Ventus shuddered and memory and Vanitas stared wide eyed, before he burst out laughing.
"You… You walked in on your brother having sex! That's too much!" Vanitas continued to laugh. Ventus smiled. 'He has such a pretty laugh…' The blonde thought to himself in a daze.
"Earth to Ventus! What you staring at? Get ready." Vanitas clicked his fingers in front of Ventus' face trying to catch his attention.
"I've never heard you laugh before." Ventus replied. "It's really pretty." He commented.
"Vanitas! Roxas! Get up here!" Kairi called out to the two of them. Vanitas ignored what Ventus said and grabbed him hand pulling him along to the stage.
"Okay. You stand over here Roxas." Kairi said pointing to the far left. "And you over there." She spoke to Vanitas as she pointed to the middle of the stage. "Me and Terra over here and we're set for the final scene. We've decided to get it over and done with first so we know what we're working up to!" She stood next to Vanitas and Terra stood behind him. "ACTION!"
"I'm sorry. Snowdrop didn't awake to the kiss…" Vanitas said reciting the lines he was meant to say. Kairi took hold of Terra's hand and he hugged her close.
"You did your best and that's all we can ask of you Prince Eric." Terra sighed looking down at the floor.
"I'd better get going. My parents will want to know what happened." That was Ventus' cue.
"L-leaving so soon? Without saying goodbye none the less?" Ventus spoke softly as he walked towards them. "Mother… Father… It's nice to see you after all these years…" He smiled as both the King and Queen hugged him close. Kairi crying and Terra placing a gentle kiss on his forehead. When they'd finished their heart warming bit Ventus turned to Vanitas. He took a step toward him and looked him in the eyes for a second.
"Princess. We finally meet."
"I think you're mistaken. After all. We've met before… I walked with you once upon a dream…" Just as Ventus was to go to give Vanitas a kiss to finish the play…
THUMP.
He slipped and tripped.
"Ow ow ow ow ow!" Ventus whined. He sat on his knees and pouted. "Help me up!" To hell with everything else the short blonde looked adorable as a kitten. He was even on the verge of tears. Terra and Vanitas took one hand each and lifted Ventus to his feet.
"You okay Roxas?" Terra asked with his voice laced with worry.
"I'm fine." Ventus replied looking around. "But who the hell put a water bottle there?!" Kairi edged away. Totally wasn't her water bottle…
"WELL! Let's try that scene again!" Kairi suggested turning the attention away from the accident at hand. It worked successfully and the boys agreed to rehearse it again. This time it went along and Ventus did not trip over because the bottle of water was moved by someone (COUGH Kairi COUGH) to make sure it didn't happen. It went well (after the fifth time) and Ventus was glad it was over. They scene was weird to do. And he kissed Vanitas five times. He saw Terra seething with anger after each time though… But luckily enough for Terra he got to kiss Ventus on the forehead at least six times in those five rehearsals, so he was happy about that. Next was the scene with the evil wizard and Ventus knew that it wasn't going to end well. Sora was gonna have way too much fun with his role…
