~Earlier~

"So what did you want to talk about then Riku?" Axel was confused as to why the isolated area to meet and talk about this. It did make him worried for the conversations that would happen but he wouldn't let that show on the surface. Charisma and self-confidence would overcome that.

"So do you honestly not know what happened or are you just playing dumb?" He was sharp and straight to the point. If he was to be honest he didn't want to make the biggest deal of this by dragging it out and, inevitably, making it out to be worse than it was. Not to say that it wasn't a terrible thing that happened but, by blaming Roxas or even possibly accusing him of being the problem could potentially lead him into more trouble that it was worth, especially when talking to Axel. Axel himself looked dumbfounded at his question and he was legitimately surprised by this. Considering how close the three bullies were he thought that the guy would know something at all, even if it was the tiniest of things. He continued to talk, not even waiting for a response from the obvious fact that he was going to get a silly question.

"Xion and Roxas had a particularly large argument in which some bad things were said by the both of them. Xion left the house and stayed with Larxene last night…" The reaction Riku got was nothing like he thought it'd be.

"So what was said that was so bad?" Axel was unusually calm about all of this. No large reaction, no big gesticulation, no change in voice tone. Nothing. Maybe Riku was worrying more than he ought to.

"Look, they just said stuff, okay? It wasn't anything you'd know about but it was serious stuff and it hurt both of them more than what I think was intended." Riku decided to not to let him know too much, after all too much information getting out was just unnecessary; Axel could live without knowing.

"Uhm…? Okay then, so what? Am I supposed to just not bring Xion up or something?" The reply wasn't as dumb as Riku had expected…

"That. Would be a perfect idea. Just don't set him off, he seems happy with you and I wanna keep it that way." He paused for a moment, almost questioning what he meant by that, before opening his mouth again to continue speaking, "I don't want to see Roxas upset or angry, especially not at school, since he is supposed to be Ventus at the moment." There. That sounded a lot better to him. Left no margin for a misunderstanding, not that there would be one anyway, it just felt wrong to leave it where he'd paused for some reason.

Axel nodded in understanding and gave Riku a pat on the back as he walked away, giving him a promise that he'd do his best to make sure Roxas would stay happy. It was a huge relief for Riku, knowing there was someone else to carry the burden of knowing about the whole switching places plan and to help him deal with it.

With their talk over and done with they parted ways and went off to do their separate things.

~After Last Chapter~

Roxas followed after Aqua as she lead them to their next lesson and he couldn't help but formulate some kind of plan to get Aqua and Terra together just in case. He didn't want to matchmake but if things did get out of hand on Ventus' side between him, Vanitas, and Terra, then it would be nice to know that there was something to be done to sort Terra out in a way. He'd have to plant the idea in Terra's mind first though so that it'd grow and be there when he needed it, if it ever came to it. Time to text Ventus.

TO: Roxas

hey, get me terras number if you can, i wanna talk to him about something

FROM: Ven

And send. Now to just wait for a reply…

Roxas continued with his day and, honestly, it wasn't anything too challenging and so the school day sped by without any more interruptions from anyone. No reply from Ventus on Terra's phone number but that didn't matter right away. Although even Axel seemed to be keeping his distance which did worry Roxas for a while until he remembered that the two of them being too close would seem odd so he left it be. Even Riku seemed to not be too much of a prick to annoy the hell out of him again for what happened with Xion.

It seemed like it was shaping up to be a decent day, and then he got home…

~Meanwhile~

Ventus and Vanitas exited the library after putting the books away on the shelves and Vanitas (unfortunately) took his glasses off. They made their way to their next lesson and on the way there Ventus received a text from Roxas.

TO: Roxas

hey, get me terras number if you can, i wanna talk to him about something

FROM: Ven

He was suddenly confused as to what Roxas would want with Terra's number but he didn't really question it and so he decided to try and get Terra's number. He was glad that he had the ingenious idea of swapping their names in their phones just in case people would see. Out of nowhere though, Vanitas grabbed his phone right out of his hand.

"Terra's number? Why would you need that if you could have mine?" Vanitas smiled and began typing his number into a new contact. Ventus got his phone chucked back at him, which he only just managed to catch without dropping to the ground. The other boy walked away to the next lesson and so Ventus quickened his pace to keep up with him.

"Hey you can't just go around taking someone's phones and giving out your number!"

"I can if I love them, and you're the only person who fits that description, so it's not just 'someone'." Ventus blushed. He'd forgotten that Vanitas had a crush on Roxas and then, in turn, on him as well.

The remained of Ventus' day was spent around Vanitas more so than before, but still with a healthy amount of Sora (although any amount of Sora could be deemed as too much to be healthy by some). He found his mind going to Vanitas and how he wore glasses more than he had wanted to during school hours. It definitely was a sight he didn't want to remove from his mind for a long time, but it was one he felt like it'd be much more detrimental to him as a whole since it doesn't do anyone any good to obsess over things too much. It wasn't until the end of the day, when Vanitas had run off home quickly for some reason and Sora was off talking to a teacher about something he didn't understand, that Ventus had the chance to go and talk to Terra and potentially get his phone number. Hopefully he wouldn't screw up…

He eventually found Terra sitting alone in a classroom, staring at a bunch of papers on the desk in front of him. Ventus had reservations towards talking to him because of how busy he looked but with the chances and time that he'd get to talk to Terra alone like this were few so he couldn't give up this opportunity so easily. He entered the classroom with as much confidence as he could muster.

Terra didn't react to his entrance as he seemed too focused on whatever it was he was doing. Ventus wandered over to him and peered over his shoulder to take a glance at what had Terra so interested. They were all drawings of different sceneries and paintbrush strokes of different colours and shades… Were these for the school play?

"What're you up to?" Ventus asked curiously, startling Terra and making him jump in surprise, some of the papers being pushed off the desk, flying in different directions from the sudden movement.

"Oh no, I'm so sorry, Terra!" Ventus panicked and began picking up the papers in a hurry, handing them back to Terra as quickly as he could.

"It's alright, Roxas, don't worry about it. I'm just deciding on what backdrops we should make for the school play. Naminé drew them up and gave me some colour swatches so I could make a choice on what to do." Terra laughed at how adorable Ventus was acting in a panic and sighed with a smile on his face.

"Oh wow! You got chosen to do that? What've you decided on so far? Do you need any help?" Ventus inquired, trying to be helpful and start up a casual conversation so that the lead up to him asking for his phone number wouldn't be as awkward or sudden as it could be. Terra looked up at him and grinned.

"Help would be great. I've chosen these backdrops since they look aesthetically pleasing but also aren't too tricky to be made, also they leave parts up to artistic interpretation so there's less stress to get everything perfect as most people like things to be, you see? All I need to do is decide on colours but I can't choose which ones I like better since some of them are similar…" Terra rambled on about his choices and the different colours that he was thinking of. Ventus couldn't take his eyes off of Terra with the amount of passion and effort he was putting into all of this. It made Ventus see him in a whole other light. Terra was a good guy who struggled with things just like anyone else but tried his best to do what was right and put a lot of thought into what he'd been assigned to do. It was sweet seeing him put so much energy into something that many people wouldn't think would have too much thought put into.

"What about choosing these dark greens, blues, and purples for this one, and then you can try and weave those colours into different props or other backdrops to symbolise the evil or bad properties of them." Ventus suggested pointing out some different shades and placing them to one side, pondering over what there was in front of him for another second before speaking again.

"Here you could use these light pastel colours to show the innocence and hope, again putting them in different places to signify the hope there is, where as in the castle you could have the royal blue, the gold, and the scarlet red for the royalty and since they're also like the primary colours it shows the beginning of the story and where everything originated?" Terra looked up and him and blinked, face blank. Ventus couldn't read his expression.

"Or not! I mean it's your choice ultimately and I'm just talking nonsense probably aha, feel free to ignore my ideas!" Ventus laughed awkwardly avoiding eye contact and bringing his hands close to his chest, as if he'd embarrassed himself and it was too much to bear. He felt Terra take his hands in his and stand up.

"No, Roxas, those are all amazing ideas and they all work so well with the play! I love them; I didn't know you were so amazing at symbolism and the meanings behind things!" Terra looked extremely happy with the suggestions Ventus had put forward. He pulled him into a hug and thanked him for the help. Ventus blushed. Terra was warm and he felt safe in his arms for some reason. It was nice to feel as appreciated as he did, and so he hugged back.

Suddenly, he remembered the request Roxas had asked of him, pulling away and scrambling to get his phone out.

"Hey, would you mind exchanging numbers with me?" Ventus asked with a smile holding his phone out to Terra, who looked extremely surprised.

"Me? You want my number?" He was confused after all - Roxas didn't ever seem like he would ever want his number… Maybe he had a chance after all? Ventus nodded and Terra grinned, taking the phone and putting his number into his contacts, feeling like he'd come closer to Roxas. Ventus thanked him and helped Terra put the final choices together and into his bag.

As he turned to leave, he was stopped by a hand on his shoulder.

"Hey, Roxas, do you think I could come round to your place today? I'd really like to spend some more time with you today to be honestly…" Terra looked nervous as he asked.

Oh no… Oh no no no… What would he do?! Ventus wasn't going to say no! That'd be too cruel… But then again, if he let him come round what would Roxas say?! What would they do if they got busted… Oh no, this was the worst possible situation to get himself into. God damn! Why did he have to be so nice?!

"N-No problem! Let's go to my place, yeah!" Ventus stuttered out, a forced smile on his face.

~Later On~

Roxas arrived home and sighed as he opened the door, after such a good day with Aqua he didn't want to go home to a shouting festival of people blaming him for everything that happened… Stepping inside the house he saw a tall brown haired male with his back to the door, and a wildly gesticulating Ventus who looked positively distressed.

Oh. Hell. No.

Roxas caught Ventus' eyes, which seemed to widen in fright and began trying to tell him to go upstairs and out of the way. Roxas glared at him and mouth to him to explain what was going on to him as he quickly took off his shoes and hurried up the stairs to his bedroom.

Ventus looked up at Terra with a smile.

"Over this way, here's the living room, make yourself comfortable, I'm going to go get changed! Try not to talk to anyone, they're all a little bit weird…" With that Ventus rushed up the stairs leaving Terra alone in the living room. He made his way to Roxas' room and as he entered the door was slammed behind him.

"What is he doing here?! Why is Terra in our house?!" Roxas hissed at his brother. Ventus laughed awkwardly and avoided eye contact.

"It's only for a little bit, I couldn't exactly refuse him, you know me Roxas…" He tried to explain himself and after a moment he spoke again, "While he's here you can ask him the stuff you were going to text him! You've gotta be a… little more… nice? So he doesn't get weirded out by the sudden change in personality?" The idea made the texting idea obsolete, which would be easier for them to communicate, and make Terra not bring it up during school time while Ventus had no clue what they'd been talking about. Roxas thought about it and sighed.

"I guess so… Sorry if I sounded angry, Ven, I didn't mean to."

"It's alright, I can understand it was really sudden for you!"

"Aha, thanks bro."

The two of them got changed and Roxas quickly ran through the vague idea of what was going to go down and his plan to try and get Terra and Aqua together so they could get him off their case.

"Good luck! Remember, be nice!" Ventus whispered out to Roxas as they headed down the stairs, Ventus hiding round the corner to listen to the conversation..

Roxas went directly to the living room, ignoring whatever it was Cloud was talking about to Sora. He saw Terra sitting down, messing about on his phone, in one of the chairs next to the sofa.

"Hey…! Did I keep you waiting long?" Roxas tried his best to smile, but he felt like it probably looked terrifying to Terra, as he sat down on the sofa as far from the other boy as he could get. Terra looked up from his phone and grinned.

"Nah, it's okay! Cute clothes though." Terra smirked at him, checking him out as he eyed him up and down. Roxas swore he could hear Ventus snicker at him, making him roll his eyes and frown slightly. Beige jeans, a black and white plaid shirt, and a red denim jacket… It was a mishmash of whatever Roxas picked from his drawers and cupboard first, nothing "cute" or anything… Ugh. Roxas certainly hadn't missed Terra's flirting…

"A-Ahaha… You think? So, uh… Mind if I ask a question?" Roxas really couldn't stand this guy… At least it wasn't Vanitas though, Roxas would definitely just leave him for to Ventus to deal with.

"Not at all, Roxas! I don't mind what it is we talk about, as long as I get to spend time with you." Terra leaned forward from his position, looking eager to talk to Roxas.

"So… Uh… Aqua's pretty cute, huh?" The question was so awkward and so wrong… Terra blinked and looked at Roxas with confusion.

"Aqua? You mean Aqua Holland?" Roxas nodded. "I, uh, yeah she's pretty cute I guess, her smile's really pretty that's for sure." Terra smiled to himself. Maybe this could work… Roxas tried to question more.

"Wow, you think so, huh? You and Aqua would make a cute couple honestly!" He smiled, and Terra blushed lightly.

"No way! We're just good friends, I don't think of her that way! Anyway I really love you, Roxas you know this already! I'm not going to give up on you, you know." Terra spoke quickly in embarrassment at the statement Roxas had made. Okay, maybe this wouldn't work… He needed to get Terra off his case so that there was one less person to bother him and Ventus.

"Well… Well, it's always good to keep your options open, right? I think you two would work out way better than me and you."

"..."

"I mean, you two know each other so much better and you two are such good friends, and I'm difficult and I-"

"No, I understand what it is…"

"Terra…?"

"It's because you like Vanitas, right? Ever since the school play roles were announced you just want to be with him, I bet you auditioned just so you could be with him longer and kiss and all that stuff!" Terra got angry quickly and stood up, grabbing his bag.

"Wa-Wait no that's not it I just…!" Roxas started panicking, what on earth had he just managed to do…? He beckoned Ventus over, mouthing at him to pacify his anger. Ventus stood up and hurried over to them in the living room and "introduced" himself to Terra.

"Hello! You must be my brother's friend? I'm Ventus, but you can call me Ven, Roxas' older twin brother. Are you alright? I heard raised voices so I though to come check up on you." Ventus smiled and took Terra's hand as he spoke. Terra look down at the boy and blinked in confusion.

"Ventus? Roxas? Two of…?" He paused for a moment and then his eyes lit up with realisation. "You're twins! I totally forgot, oh my god I'm sorry! Hello Ven… Wait Ventus! It's me! Terra!" Ventus was shocked and confused. What was he talking about?

"Terra?"

"We used to hang out with Aqua together! At the play park? The old guy Eraqus looked after us?" As Terra said this, Ventus' eyes widened and he started smiling wide.

"Oh my god, Terra, it's you!" He laughed and grasped Terra's hands even tighter.

"I always assumed you were Roxas! I though you'd just changed your name or something like that, I just… Wow this is amazing!" Terra hugged him tight and Ventus hugged back, both of them laughing and feeling amazing from their reunion.

"Anyone want to fill me in…?" Roxas asked, completely bewildered at the scene playing out in front of him.

"When you used to go to extra music classes with Xion, Cloud would take me to a play park run by this man called Eraqus!"

"Ven and I met, as well as Aqua! We used to play together a lot and pretend fight and go on adventure together. Roxas, I always assumed that you were just Ventus, but you changed your name, or that you'd given me and Aqua a nickname when we played together and forgotten about me but I guess you were twins all along. How didn't I realise this earlier?!" Terra grinned at Ventus, high fiving him and sitting back down. Terra had always loved Roxas thinking he was Ventus, but really it was Ventus he'd always been in love with. From what he'd seen so far, Ventus really was the happy-go-lucky, carefree, sweet boy he remembered from his childhood. That was the adorable boy he'd fallen in love with, that's the one he remembered.

Roxas just left the room and let the two of the old friends get to know each other again. He knew Ventus was forgetful but to forget two people, both Aqua and Terra, so easily… He really had taken his memory problems to a whole other level…

Terra eventually went home and the twins had their dinner and went to bed, ready for the next day…
