It has been...a long time. I don't know if anyone still reads this story, but I dug up old notes for it from the dark depths of my old flash drive and I couldn't let it go. I couldn't bring myself to delete what I have of this story but it also irritates me that it hasn't gone ANYWHERE. So with that here's an update. Hope you enjoy it if you read it. Comment if you wish
Orchid worked well into the night cleaning up the base, but the more she cleaned the more mess seemed to appear. Moving leaves around resulted in dust billowing out from every nook and cranny, and the beams of certain sections of the base had to constantly be put back into place. Orchid was strong enough to hold them steady with her vine whips, but there was only so much a small Bulbasaur could do. It didn't help that the only light she had to see came from the moon filtering through a space in the wall that currently functioned as a window, but was truly just a hole in the wall. Orchid tripped over her supplies as she worked, leaving her arms and legs with multiple scars and bruises that she would have to tend to before they became infected. Her hair was a mess, and her clothes were covered in dirt from all the sweeping, dusting, and falling on the ground whenever she tripped or lost her balance trying to grab something that was just out of reach.
"Maybe I should have asked that Blue guy for help, annoying as he was. I mean, this is ridiculous! Who could expect to have a functioning living space when every two steps you take leaves you covered in dust and debri…." Orchid dusted herself off and sighed. She walked over to the wall and looked out the makeshift window. There was a slight breeze causing the leaves to sway, muffling the noise of bug Pokémon heard in the far distance.
"At least this place is surrounded by nature, I don't know what I would do if I was stuck here while surrounded by concrete. Makes me stir crazy just thinking about it" Orchid shook her head and sighed, walking away from the window. She made temporary bandages out of large leaves she found near the entrance, covered her wounds and hastily continued her work through the night.
