Chapter 4:
Stella's POV:
I never thought my brain could hurt this bad, never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be this confused. In less than twelve hours my peaceful life of only shopping and fighting bad guys has been turned around and I am on some unknown planet with my friends and some unknown people who refuse to give me a proper and direct explanation.
Anna, who is completely oblivious to my problems, gets up and walks out of the café without a glance over her shoulders. She has calmed down a great deal, but I was getting into an even worse mood than I was in. why could she not finish her explanations now? How can she deem it unimportant for us to know? I am the princess of Solaria and I do not need to take this sort of treatment. She makes it seem like I am not important.
I looked around to see everyone else cautiously get up and follow her out, so I did the same having no other option. Anna is a few steps ahead of us talking about something she deems important completely unrelated to the explanations we require.
" … And so you will need new clothes as well a-" I interrupted her.
"CLOTHES! That means shopping! Yes finally!" I screamed all I heard in that statement was clothes and I didn't even care what it was for, as long as it was shopping.
"Well Stella, if you listened to what I was saying you would know why. And it's not going to be your usual kinda shopping since I am paying for the clothes so I ge-" And she gets interrupted again.
"Lady Anna" Another strange and beautiful voice calls out from across the street of the café. He goes down on his knee and bows till Anna gestures him to stand with her hand.
I looked to see another beautiful creature standing there. The man was stunning. He was beautiful, not hot or handsome, but just plain beautiful. The people who live here are far too beautiful to be considered as normal. He has long fair hair and he is extremely fair himself with light eyes that were almost white. He is tall and thin but has a very well-toned body and has a strange pressure coming of him. He is powerful and I can feel it on my skin, but the pressure is not like the one the weird group had given off. It was more comforting and relaxing. Why couldn't someone so strong train us? But there was one thing that I did not like about him. HIS SENSE OF STYLE! He too is wearing a cloak, a plain white clock. Seriously is their fashion trend a cloak or something?
"What is it? You didn't have to come till here. I was on my way to the Palace." Anna asks confusion evident in her voice.
Finally! She gets what we might be feeling.
"I need to talk to you in private." He replies and looks at Alex, glancing over us like we don't matter, and obviously his eyes land on Flora who is standing next to him.
"Flora! It's been so long!" he tells her while he walks up to her and gives her a hug. "I am truly sorry but I must hurry up and go, I shall meet you soon."
"No problem, we can talk later." She tells him with a smile.
I rolled my eyes at the exchange. Okay, is there anyone she doesn't know on this planet?
Anna and the strange white man walk a little away from us and he starts talking to her quickly. Whatever he was telling her must not be good news because her face becomes expressionless in less than a second. She looks at us and tells him something, he nods and they walk over to us.
"It was nice to meet you again Flora, Xan." He gently bows his head to both of them and turns and bows deeply to Anna. "I shall tell Lady Aria your thoughts."
"Yes, be careful, bye." Anna tells him, not at all formal. Alex and Flora gently bow their heads as well.
He side steps her and runs so fast I can only see a white blur. Anna turns towards us and rubs the back of her neck.
"So…, new plans. The princess is busy so it seems like we can't visit her today, so we will have to postpone the shopping as well. I can answer any questions you have and explain everything else because we seem to have some free time now."
Noooo! How can she cancel on shopping! But maybe, at least, I shall finally get some answers. We all walk for a while passing a few amazing shops. The people on the streets seemed to be in shock, they moved out of our way and bowed till we passed by. I guess visitors were treated like royalty here. Everyone is in their own conversations whispering to each other trying to figure things out while Helia was talking to Brandon about something. I feel bad for him, I would be so angry at Flora if I were him, but I'm angry with her anyways. How could she have hid something so big from us and now not explain anything!
We reached the garden pretty soon which was also beautiful, like every other place and person in this world. It is filled with such bright colours and it is so sunny and warm and relaxing. It calmed me down a bit. We walk up to a cluster of benches and sit down, some of us around it and some of us on it. Anna was the only one who stood in front of us, even Alex was seated comfortably on the grass.
"Before you ask your questions let me explain the ways of this world and how it is different from yours." Anna started though it was not really the answers I wanted.
"Firstly, you should know that your universe is young compared to ours. Your world was made by a fire dragon or so your legends say. That dragon originated from our world and created the dimension so it could rest in peace. It is also the reason why magic is possible in your world. It is due to the lingering spirit of the dead dragon.
"So we feel somewhat responsible for your well-being. We didn't want to be known unless required. That is why we only watched how things were going on in your world but never tried to take part. We are known as many things, but paladin's is what you can call us by. The only time we interfere with another realm is when our enemies are involved. The ones we fight, the evil, the ones who have started to chase you are also called by many names, but you can call them the killer, or slayers.
"In our universe there are seven different worlds each with their own talents. Our fighting style is slightly different from yours and we are monarchs. Each planet had its own king or queen and together they form a council and discuss all matters, including other worlds like yours. Now any questions?" She asks looking around as though that explains everything.
"Why didn't we meet the princess? And why are the Slayers after us?" Layla asks first.
"I thought the slayer thing is obvious. You guys are apparently the strongest in your world so if they want to take over your world they need to destroy you first. The princess is busy so you can't meet her today. Any other questions."
"How are we training?" Bloom asks.
"Stella will train with us till the princess is free. You will have both physical and mental training for each aspect we think is required."
"Why am I the only one training separately with the princess?" I ask next.
"Everyone will have their own personal trainer at some point, maybe. The princess is the strongest in this planet so she will be the one who will be able to train you the fastest. To increase your level from a meagre three to a five will take any level seven fighter at least a months' time, but a princess or a prince will be able to do it in a week or two."
"What do you mean level three to level five?" Sky questions.
"Oh umm… we have levels to segregate people in our world. Level one being students and the weakest while level seven are the strongest and highest level fighters. There is another level, level zero which is only for the Kings, Queens and the princes and princesses and their right hand men or women."
"So the royal family have a level of their own?" Nabu asks.
"No they don't, we don't bother with most of the royal families here. They have their name and power but they are generally level six's and seven's. Level zeroes are the strongest fighter in their entire planet, that's why the get the seat of the king or queen. Any one has the right to challenge them and take the throne. Only the air and water kingdom have only had royals hold the position of level zero."
"But you just said that royal families did not hold the position, only the strongest did." Layla contradicts.
"That's how strong those royals are."
"How do you know we are level three fighters?" My schnookums asks.
"It is easy for a sensory type to predict your level of power, but you mistake me. The women are of level three, you men are all of level two so you will be going through some hasher training."
"We are level two because we don't have magic?" Riven sounds insulted.
"You don't need magic to be strong, you people are weak with and without magic which is why you were sent here to be trained." She lets out a small sigh like she is disappointed by us.
"So then th-"I start.
"Ah you people ask too many questions. Let it be we have time later to continue such pointless discussions." Anna interrupts me looking outright bored with explaining.
Flora giggles, like her behaviour is so entertaining while Alex just sighs, he too seems to be getting tired listening to the explanation. And that is when I reach my limit, now I can't contain myself anymore.
"THAT'S ALL?! THAT'S ALL YOU ARE EXPLAINING?! IMAGINE GETTING DRAGGED AWAY FROM YOUR WORLD WHEN YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON! ALL I WANT IS AN EXPLANATION AND EVERYONE REFUSES TO GIVE IT. WHY? YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND WHATS IT'S LIKE, WHEN YOU HAVE ALWAYS BEEN STRONG ENOUGH TO DEFEAT YOU ENEMY AND SUDDENLY ALL THAT POWER IS USELESS. WE HAVE BLINDLY TRUSTED YOU AND YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW TO TREAT PEOPLE. YOU THINK YOU OWN THE WORLD! EVEN I AM NOT SO SELF CENTRED! THINK ABOUT HOW WE FEEL FOR ONCE. I HAVE HAD IT. WITH YOU AND YOUR FASHION SENSE, CLOAKS ARE NOT COOL SO WEAR SOMETHING ELSE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD." I yell at them and stand up and stomp away fuming leaving everyone behind me.
I was telling the truth when I said I had enough, I could hear all of them calling out for me but I don't care. I walk away from the park alone to find a place where I can calm down and recover from my outburst. My feet just carried me to the first dress store I could find and I walk in.
I can barely believe what I just did. I hadn't even turned around to see any of their reactions and I can only imagine how badly it must have hit Anna. Well I wasn't trying to be mean but I had to speak my mind. Now I needed my shopping therapy to calm me down before I go back and see the mess I made.
