Chapter 9: New Information
Riven's POV:
Seven days. That's how long it has been since we have been on this so called wind planet. That's how long it has been since I have technically spoken to Musa. That's how long it has been since a new round of mental and physical training has been wearing away at us. So basically, it was horrible. It seems the light world is mostly healers so our training was mostly about gentle compared to this. We learned a way to use a supportive method of fighting and light battles. Here we trained in everything related to long distance fighting and wind battling. My bruises had bruises on it, Anna and Alex never gave us a moment to breathe and grilled us to keep fighting hard, we did not have as many lessons in learning about the wind version crap of light, but it was more than enough. They were ruthless and relentless even though Anna went off somewhere most of the times. This was living hell.
The inferno to this hell was the fact that I never got to spend time with my Musa, she used to return back home a little while after us, she would just skip dinner, be as quiet as a mouse and would go straight to bed. She woke up earlier than we did and left with Uhira, who she has spent the entire day with. My blood boils when I seem them return in the evening. She would be torn and battered up while he would not have a single scratch on him. He would join us for dinner and tell us Musa is doing well, and she already ate before so all she needs is her rest.
I did my best not to snap, took out all my frustration during my training, but my patience is generally non-existent. After the monotonous routine for the past seven days, I just had had enough.
On the eight day during dinner I snapped.
We were all, apart from my Musa and Uhira, sitting around the table eating our dinner. Our dinner was brilliant, but the food here always was. Probably the only good thing here was the gracious amounts of delicious, soul refreshing food.
"I was wondering, Anna, if you knew who those slayers where who attacked us." Layla spoke out being the only voice amongst the clamour of plates and forks. The first serious question asked this week.
We used to be too tired to speak by the time dinner came, so we just used to eat quietly or chit chat about pointless topics. But during today's training was a bit different, Anna had gone missing since morning so Alex cut us some slack after seeing our shredded states.
"Yes we know who they are, and I suppose it's time you knew about them as well." Anna replies eating her piece of chicken.
She puts her fork down and looks at us expectantly. We all stop eating and look up at her.
"But before that I want to tell you something." She tells us, surprising us all.
"You are all very different from the normal students we have trained. In the sense that, Stella you are a light fairy, but you are not a healer and that is rare. You use brute force to fight." She tells us looking at Stella.
"Musa is a specialized wind fairy, specialized in the vibrations and waves that are present in the wind and she plays with the sense of sound of people. That is very rare forlower level warriors." A very familiar and annoying voice tells us. Obviously it could only be him.
We turn towards the door to find Musa and Uhira standing by it. It was a reflex action when I stood upand stared her down, normally she would just walk by and crash on her bed, but today she walked up to me and sat down next to me. She looked happy, immensely happy, giving one of her most gracious smiles at me. I take my seat not letting my eyes of her in case she just disappears. I was annoyed as hell that she never spoke to me once during the week, even when she saw me, she would just leave with Uhira, but we can talk about that later. For now she is here and that's all that matters.
Uhira greeted all of us with a nod of his head and sat down next to Anna.
"It's as he says. Musa is a specialized fairy. In that sense each of you are unique to our specific worlds which will be your strength." Anna continues looking happily at Musa who grins back at her.
Wait these two are being friendly to each other? When did that happen? It's like the same thing with Stella. Stella used to hate her guts, but after her training, they got along so well it was surprising to think that she couldn't stand her before. But I still don't trust her, and I know none of the others do either, at least I think they don't.
"How you specialize in these abilities will be explained to you by your personal tutors. Going into the details now will confuse you and take up way too much time." Anna continued."I'll explain about those people, who attacked you, most of them were from different planets. A darker, evil, dangerous and deadly version of our planets, they collect people from different universes as henchmen. They use them for information, I would not be surprised if they are in league with some of the people who you have fought with."
"We shall tell you their names and were they are from and what their elemental power is, the easiest way to distinguish them is with hair colour, so we shall use that." Uhira speaks for his sister while she takes a break and eats her food.
"Let's starts with the women" Alex tells us. "The one with pink hair is named Zafrina and she is from the fire planet, specialises in short distance one on one fights.
"Her sister, Sabrina, is the one with red hair and pink streaks, she too is from the fire planet and is deadly with her fire sword.
"Then comes the black haired witch called Carla, she is from the fire planet and is a skilled mage who fights using your own shadows.
"Jamie is the white haired healer, she is from the light planet and excels in support magic.
"The one with the light green hair is called Bella, she uses earth magic and is skilled in close combat.
"Finally it's the blonde, she too uses earth magic, and her name is Evelyn." Alex whispers something else but even I'm not able to hear it.
"Now, for the so called 'men'." Anna says using quotation marks. "From the metal planet we have the grey haired weirdo who specialises in close to mid-range combat, his name is Ferrous.
"Next comes Derek from the water planet, green haired with streaks, specialises in mid-range combat.
"Then follows the next weirdo with long, white hair, the female healers older brother, James. He is extremely skilled in magic
"There is the Mohawk creep named Leo, fast as a cheetah and quiet as a water snake. Extremely dangerous, he is the right hand man of the leader of the group. He is from the dark planet.
"The captain of this little group is the bald guy, Saji. He is a little bit of an enigma to us as we really don't know much about him, this is the first time we have seen him lead a team out for a mission. He is also the strongest in the group without question.
"None of them are as problematic as the final one, Jake. He is a spy, underhanded, cunning, conniving, idi-"
"We get it, he is an ass, calm down. He uses earth magic and don't believe a word he says." Alex cuts into her description.
An odd look passed over Anna, Alex, and Uhira's face, but it lasted only for a second so I couldn't quite place it.
"Now let us celebrate the partial good news! Musa has finished her training which means we can move on to the next world!" Anna exclaims though it was clear she was hiding something.
I looked at Flora who also noticed that Anna was hiding something. She looked curiously with a hint of fear visible in her eyes. What could frighten her? She was the only one who could give me lectures and handle me without getting into a fight. She was generally the most the calm and collected one. What is she scared of?
I feel Musa's hand on mine and I look at her and smile, she smiles back at me. Then I remember that I am angry with her and my smile fades. I'm sure she picked up on it. Everyone was rejoicing that Musa has gained her new transformation and that we can move on to the next planet, when she stood up.
"I am beat, so I'm gonna go to bed now. Talk to you guys tomorrow morning." She tells us all. She kisses me on the top of my head and leaves, I can see the way she walked that she was carrying the weight of the world.
I'm torn between wanting to talk to her and not wanting to talk to her, I was still pissed and jealous, but I have missed her and I want to clear things out as fast as I can.
"All of you should sleep as well, we are leaving tomorrow." Anna tells us avoiding Flora's persistent gaze.
Everyone gets up slowly, pushing their chairs and trudging to the room. I follow them, entering the room while I give Musa's sleeping figure a brief glance before collapsing on my own bed. I could hear everyone else whispering and the soft creaks of bed springs around, the only ones missing where Anna, Alex, and Uhira. It didn't take long for everyone to fall asleep, but I kept staring at Musa's sleeping form wondering what I'm going to do with her, how I'm going to talk to her.
After a while the soft snoring of those around me took over, and I was almost asleep myself till I heard someone's soft footsteps leave the room. I get up to see a ghost of Flora leave the room. I get up to follow her but I can see someone has already beaten me to it. Helia quietly followed her but stopped at the door. Well this was going to be interesting. Helia eaves dropping, my my aren't I rubbing off on him.
I can only wonder what Helia must be going through, I was annoyed that Musa never spent time with me, I get it she's busy but she barely glanced at me, it got my blood boiling. Helia on the other hand is very understanding.
I slowly crept up behind the door where he was standing and I could see he is clearly not in a good mood, nothing like how he has been behaving in front of us. Wow Flora must really be driving him insane.
Unlike my honest friend I had no qualms in eavesdropping on my friends business so I stood with Helia listening for a while before he noticed me and nodded in my direction. I nodded back and listened intently.
"... warned me before hand." I could hear Flora speak, barely a whisper.
"I didn't know he was coming to your planet Flora, otherwise I would have stopped him." Anna replied, her voice sounded slightly agitated.
Who where they talking about?
"Dear, you know I would do anything I can to keep you safe, I just didn't think he would be part of the group. And I didn't know you were part of the Winx Club."
"Then why did they pick him specifically to come after us. You of all people taught me never to believe in coincidences. He being there, there has to be a reason right?" Flora asks her voice close to hysteria.
There was silence for a few minutes.
"Tell me. There has to be a reason, please tell me what it is. Please." Flora sobs out.
What in heaven's name was going on? I see Helia stiffen beside me. I didn't have to see his face to know how worried he is.
"Flora please don't cry, I didn't think Jake would personally go after you." Uhira tries to console her.
"I should have killed him when I had the chance, now he is after my little one." Alex replies. He was outright furious.
"No don't kill him!" Flora replies still crying.
"Flora, honey, we have to! Otherwise he will come after you to kill you. He knows your strength and weakness. But more importantly, they know you cannot fight him." Anna replies.
"But... I... Why... It... No... I..." Flora tries to reply, but her sentences are incoherent.
"He betrayed us. He betrayed you! He tortured you! And almost killed you once before! I will exact my revenge on him." Alex hisses out.
"He must have a reason for doing this." Flora replies through her sobs.
"He was close to the three of you. Especially Uhira and you, which is why you don't see how bad it is." Alex retorts back.
"He is right, the three of you were inseparable, so I don't think either of you can fight him." Anna says.
"What about Helia?" Uhira asks quietly.
"What about him?" Flora asks a bit stunned, her sobs stopped instantly.
"Otouto not now, but she will need to know. He will kill Helia in front of you to torture you before he kills you. His wife will enjoy all the kinds of torture that can be inflicted on you." Anna replies.
"H-h-he is m-m-married?!" Flora stutters.
"Yes honey, he is." Anna replies.
"But I thou-" Flora was going to say something when she gets cut off.
"Musa has woken up and so has 2 of the Specialists, if we continue to talk they will hear us." Uhira states.
How does he know? I turn around to see Musa looking past me with worried eyes. I walk up to her and wrap my arms around her. Helia walks past us and goes to bed.
"What happened to Flora here?" Musa whispers to me.
"I don't know." I reply burying my head in her hair.
"Riven I-" Musa was going to tell me something before I interrupt her by pressing my lips hard against hers.
The door opens and I look up to see Anna standing there.
"Both of you go to bed. Tomorrow you can talk, make out, whatever." She states before she walks in and lies down.
Both of us head over to our beds and I am aware the Uhira, Alex and Flora have entered the room.
"We will talk later Flora." Uhira tells her.
"Hmmm." She mutters back.
"Shh all of you sleep now. Tomorrow we must head over to the fire world and it is going to be hectic, especially with the festival going on." Alex tells them.
"Ah the festival, so much work." Anna sighs
No one spoke again after that. I too quietly fell asleep trying not to think about anything. Seems like there is more to these worlds than what they are telling us. Anything that can scare Flora so much needs to be destroyed. And I don't know how things are going to end up with Musa tomorrow. I am pissed that she didn't speak to me and I try to understand that she was too tired and she couldn't, but I can't bring myself past the fact that she spent the entire week with Uhira.
