Chapter 8: New Beginnings
Millie giggled as she spun around in her dress. Felix watched and laughed a little. "Aren't you the most beautiful thing I've ever seen?"
The young girl smiled fondly at her soon to be step father. It was funny how only a few weeks ago Felix was known as her teacher. Now, on Christmas day, he's becoming her step father. What could be better then that? "Thank you! You look nice too!" She complimented. Felix wasn't wearing anything to dressy. Just the same outfit that he had worn the night before which was his black button up shirt, black pants and blue tie. He picked Millie up and kissed her cheek. "Why thank you, hon!"
Peeking her head inside the doorway, Vanellope smiled. "Hey, Uncle Felix. I think Thomas is ready. So is Daddy. You know how Stinkbrain gets. Anyway, hurry up you two!"
Felix rolled his eyes. "Alright, sweetie. Just tell them to hold on a second. Okay?" Nodding, Vanellope rushed back downstairs back to her father and Thomas. Once the two were alone again, Felix put Millie down and grabbed her hand. Taking deep breaths, the two smiled at one another and went downstairs. "Merry Christmas, Felix." Millie whispered. Felix looked down at the young girl who was looking right back up at him. "Merry Christmas, Mil."
Downstairs, Thomas, who was dressed in almost the same thing that Felix was except his tie was black, looked at Ralph and sighed. "Ralph. You do know that I'm not gonna hurt Felix. Don't you?" His question was basically asking Ralph for his forgiveness. "I know you won't hurt him, Thomas. He literally wouldn't shut up about you when you two started talking again. I think that he knows that just as well as I do, though."
Giving Ralph a grateful smile, Thomas nodded. "Thanks Ralph."
Ralph patted his back. "Anytime, Tom. And where's Felix and Millie?" He asked while looking around. His eyes finally landed on the staircase. Millie and Felix were descending the stairs hand in hand. Ralph grinned a little when he saw Thomas's face. His face looked a bit pink but had the most loving smile graced upon it. When his and Felix's eyes locked, there was absolutely no doubt about whether or not they actually were going to go through with this. And that was when they both instantly recalled what they shared the night before. They made love and it was amazing.
As Felix inched closer to Thomas, he released Millie's hand slowly and took a quick glance at his older brother. Felix took a deep breath and took both of Thomas's hands in his. "Hi..." He whispered lovingly. Thomas sighed dreamily. "Hi, Felix..." Was what he whispered back.
Felix giggled a little and nodded for Ralph to start. "You guys ready?" He asked. They heard Vanellope groan. "Just get on with it already, Stinkbrain! I'm sure that they're more then ready!" She winked at Thomas who chuckled softly. "Thanks, you walking cavity." The comment earned him a snort mixed with a huff by the nine year old. Ralph sighed. Only moments later, Vanellope gave them the rings and retook her spot next to Millie. Ralph asked them to say their I DO'S which they both did without any hesitation and then came the biggest part of the small wedding.
"Well go on, Felix. Kiss him." Ralph said while he and the girls laughed.
Looking into Thomas's eyes, Felix grinned and pulled him into the most romantic kiss yet. The two both quickly melted into the kiss with no hesitation and minimal trouble at all. Vanellope nudged Millie's side lightly. "Guess we're cousins now, huh?" Grin widening, Millie gave her new step cousin a large hug making Vanellope wheeze but return the gesture nonetheless.
Breaking apart for air, Thomas, who was breathing rather heavily, pushed his forehead against Felix's and gave his new husband a small grin. "Thanks for everything, Felix..." He whispered. Felix chuckled. "Right back at you, Tommy." Leaning up a little more to Thomas's ear, Felix let out a small, breathy, laugh. "If you're gonna be worried about the marriage license, don't. I already had Ralph make a few phone calls this morning."
"Did you...?" Thomas mumbled into Felix's hair. "Mhmm...knew you'd say yes..."
They stood there for a few more minutes, holding onto each other for dear life. Felix finally inched away and looked up. "I love you." Those three simply stated words would never become tiring to hear. Thomas grinned. "I love you, too." Turning around to see the other three standing there, Thomas motioned Millie over with the wave of his hand and instantly the young girl was held up in his arms. Felix hugged the two of them and kissed Millie's cheek. "I love you more though." Felix teased.
Thomas rolled his eyes and gave Felix a lovingly playful smile.
Wriggling free from Thomas' grip, Millie reached out for Felix and was gratefully accepted into his arms. "Love you, daddy..." She mumbled into Felix's shirt. Thomas smiled widely at Felix's face. He had a fretful, yet accepting look before grinning softly. "Love you, Mil..."
*One year later*
Thomas yawned as he sat next to Felix on the couch. "Mornin', cutie..." He mumbled as he kissed his husbands cheek. Felix smiled and pulled Thomas in for a short kiss on the lips. "Mornin', hon..."
They sat like that until Millie emerged from her room; Vanellope following not too far behind. Felix chuckled. "Thought you two would be up a little earlier than this...it's almost seven." His teasing voice earned him Millie's tongue being stuck out. "Come here, you little monster." He said softly. Millie giggled and ran to him; climbing onto his lap making herself as comfortable as possible. Thomas smiled at the two.
The past year went by pretty well. Wonderful, in fact. Felix had become sort of a rock for Millie. Since the young girl didn't have a mother to raise her, she was young enough to be raised by Felix and still turn out great at the end. The three of them, along with Ralph and Vanellope had become a small family. And they wouldn't change it for the world.
And, after the first month of a very successful marriage, Felix and Thomas decided that they wanted another child.
Both being men, it would be practically impossible for them to make a kid themselves. So they decided on asking one of their female friends to carry their baby. It was a pretty easy process. And Deanna was the first one to offer. So, nine months later, baby Conner was born.
He was a cute little thing. Looked a lot like Felix and Thomas. Had a mix of both fathers eyes and hair. The boy was born a brunette with blond highlights.
Conner looked as adorable as any baby would. Now he's about two months old. Still a little thing. He rested in Thomas's arms while Millie sat eagerly in Felix's arms. Her eyes scanning over each and every last present beneath the tree. Lights shining beautifully on the pine tree as the ornaments glistened brightly. Boxes and bags scattered across the tree skirt with minimal space to move around. That's how Christmas morning should be all the time in their minds. Especially Millie's.
Ralph walked into the living room and picked a ten year old Vanellope up. She squirmed but eventually gave into her father's embrace by huffing and folding her arms. "I'm not nine, Stinkbrain!" She said in an irritated tone. Ralph smiled. "I know, kiddo. But you're by daughter so I have ever right to." Sighing, Vanellope gave her father an almost smug look.
Glancing up at Felix, Millie squinted her eyes. "Can we open our presents now, daddy?" Throughout the past year, Millie had grown accustomed to calling Thomas dad and Felix daddy. It was just easier for the little girl. Felix poked her side. "Come on, Sweetie. Be patient. It's still kinda early." The sight of the young girl was priceless. She folded her arms when she turned in Felix's lap to face him frown plastered across her face. "I've been patient all year. I don't wanna be patient anymore."
Thomas leaned backwards so his back hit the back of the couch. He chuckled a little to himself and glanced down at his son. "Daddy's being mean again, isn't he?"
Felix glared at Thomas. "I'm not. It's only seven. It's too early."
"Oh come on, Fix-It. Their young. Let 'em open some presents already."
Millie gave Felix a triumphant and smug smirk while crossing her arms. Felix sighed yet smiled at the young girl. For someone so small, she sure turned out to be a handful. Then there was the always lingering thought of what it would be like to raise Conner. Felix and Thomas were dreading that day...
But for now? They were all as happy as could be together on Christmas morning. Enjoying every moment together like it was their last...
