Authors Note: I don't own 'the Hobbit' nor any characters of it just my two own characters Nalia and Velveteen.

Oh… right… for everyone who wants to know, i also starting a new hobbit story also Thorin/OC… so if you want you can read it:D

Bilbo Baggins the master burglar

They all fell down on each other. And for his sake he landed on the top off the others.

But in fact Bilbo didn't cared at all! He asked himself: WHY! Why does it always have to be me?

He had to leave Rivendell, had no real food because great king under the mountain didn't want to pause so long, He almost fell from a mountain, was dripping wet, had to sleep in a cold cave and now he felt down in a even bigger cave! He ran out of steam! Poor Bilbo missed his hobbit hole more than ever!

Suddenly someone grappled him and he just wanted to turn and wanted to remind this bastard of good manors when he saw it was some creature. Goblin when he was right.

They were all taken on a wooden path hanging over the black depth.

The others went around him and seeing his chance he just sat down and hid behind the top of the rock the bridge was built on.

No one noticed.

Nalia of the Fiery Mountain

Nalia felt sick. She was so damn scared she just clung to Thorin, totally forgetting the fact she could have killed him earlier the day.

They were pushed around like meat. Probably they would be food soon. At that she got even more scared and tears ran down her cheeks.

And then they saw him. Or it. Probably it was a goblin. On its head there was something like a crown.

As they came to stop in front of the goblins throne Nalia stepped even closer to Thorin and whispered in his ear: "Thorin… I'm scared."

"What happened to the 'snappy, tough Nalia'?" He said pushing her behind him watching every movement of the giant creature in front of them.

"She is cold, almost died, was happy she was alive and is now about to die again…"

"She is the one with my coat my mind doesn't play tricks on me."

"Please… I didn't ask you to mock me… not now!" The tears ran faster and faster.

"Nalia… everything will be all right, okay?"

XXX

Damn bushes! Damn trees! Damn nature! Velveteen felt like a piece of dirt! The rain that had fallen a few hours ago made her fur wet and heavy. She hated it! She hated bushes, trees, yes, she hated whole nature! With Nalia it was fun to travel with. She's got some stuff to build a small tent where even she could stay in when it rained. In her bag Nalia got some warm blankets and she never got out of horse treats.

Oh how Vel hated to travel alone! Stupid, stupid dwarfs (Not Nalia of course)!

She turned around a great stonewall when the map in her had came up again to show her the way through the small valley.

The path was not beautiful and definitely no party road but Vel had any problems walking through it. She learned that the way was only for animals and was guarded by some creepy creatures so no human, dwarf, elf, goblin or orc could pass it. Well, that was what she heard from the squirrel she met this morning. But she doubted any of its words were true. Who can trust on a squirrel, right?

The problem was: There was no sign of something like a cave she could rest in and she was definitely not sleeping under the sky! It could rain again! So Vel was searching and searching but it seemed she wouldn't have luck this time.

Gandalf the grey

He went back to Elrond, Saruman and Galadriel to hear if they decided anything on the matter of the dwarfs getting closer to the Lonely Mountain, but they haven't. Saruman was racing up and down the pavilion and Elrond tried to calm him down. Galadriel was no where to be seen.

"We have to do something! We need to stop them! There is absolutely no need to make a quest, traveling to Erebor and trying to win it back from a dragon! They can't think they have any chance do they?"

"Saruman! We can't do anything right now. The dwarfs left and a storm is coming. The time will come…"

"I'm sorry my Lord Elrond to interrupt you. But on this matter I just have to say it! You always say the time will come, but what is when they are standing at your gates?"
"Who is 'they' Gandalf? You think Goblins and Orcs will run out of the Mountains and fight us? "

"I don't know my Lord. But… "

"BUT what has the journey to the Lonely Mountain to do with me and my people?" Elrond asked, his face ever so calm but his eyes burning.

"It will destroy the peace in middle-earth!" Saruman stopped and turned to Gandalf: "You know that Gandalf the grey!"

"What I know, Saruman, is that there is no peace! On our journey to this place, we got hunted by orcs and almost eaten by trolls and you are telling me, a kingdom, which is received, by a ruthless dragon in a land, full of death and pain on a simple travel road, means peace?" His voice almost was too loud and echoed a bit. The elf and the white wizard didn't say anything.

"I'm going now! And neither one of you can hold me back." Gandalf turned and went down the steps of the pavilion again searching for Galadriel.

Finally he found her on a balcony looking down in the valley and to the approximating storm.

"You'll have to hurry, if you want to catch up with them." She said. Her voice floating like a small stream on a warm midsummer day.

"I wanted to talk to you first."

"About what? Haven't everything being said?"

"I don't know. Maybe I'm just enjoying the company of a beautiful woman."

She smiled in that wonderful way when her eyes laugh with her lips. She turned to him looked at him with her hearty smile and he couldn't do anything else to smile back. It felt like hours and they were just standing there looking each other in the eyes.

But then the smile on Galadriel's face disappeared. She lifted her left hand and stroked his face.

"But our time is over, Gandalf." Her eyes that were laughing before were now filled with pain and a memory of a long time ago, when he had the chance to love her.

"Only if you want it to be over." He answered and took her hand in his.

"Sometimes you can't choose."

"And sometimes you just think you can't."

And then it was over. Galadriel took her hand out off his and stepped back.

"You have to go. You need to help them. Help Thorin Oakenshiled to fulfil his quest."

The smile on her face came back but it was just her face that smiled and not her heart like before.

"Come back alive." With the last words she came closer and gave him a soft kiss on the cheek. Gandalf closed his eyes and he heard her words in his mind again and again, felt her lips on his cheek and her presence but when he opened his eyes again she was gone.

And now he had to go, too.

Thorin Oakenshield

The Goblin king sang a song about cracking bones and his little bastards were searching them.

"TAKE YOUR HANDS OF HER, YOU BASTARD!" Thorin yelled at a goblin who was searching Nalia.

"Well, well, well, look who it is! Thorin, son of Thrain, son of Thror! King under the mountain! Oh! But I'm forgetting, you don't have a mountain. So your not a king, which… makes you nobody… really… protecting a little dwarf lady, isn't that sweet? I know someone who would pay a pretty price for your head!"

"NO!" Nalia screamed, realising what she's done and instantly covering her mouth with her hands.

"Oh… So your little dwarf lady has a voice! Does she have a name, I wonder?" The Goblin King laughed, "Come here my dear. Don't be afraid, you'll die anyway."

Nalia was pushed forward to Thorins side.

"So… do you have a name?" The King asked again.

"My name is Nalia of the Fiery Mountain and I promise you! If I'm going to die today I'll take you with me!"

"Nalia of the Fiery Mountain you say? Well, I'd like to see you kill me. Anyway… back to you, Thorin. Like I said. Someone will pay for your head and I'm going to be the one who sells you." He chuckled again.

"Who would that be?" Thorin tried his best to stay calm and to look like he could kill anybody anytime.

"Huh! Doesn't know his own enemies! Funny! Well, to help your mind. He is a great pale Orc with just one arm left." The Goblin waved his arm as if he wanted to demonstrate the one arm, "In fact I think you know him pretty well since you were the person who cut his arm off." The Goblin grinned.

"Azog the Defiler!"
