MY EVERLASTING BREATH
CHAPTER 3: Life
~THREE MONTHS AFTER THAT NIGHT~
Everything was well. Everyone took into shock that the two lovers were raised from the dead. Everyone except Sokka, Suki, Toph, Mai, Bato, and Hakoda.
Later on, Aang proposed to Katara and they got married. Soon, Aang and Katara lived together in the Southern Air Temple.
One morning, Katara awoke next to Aang who looked peaceful. The sun hadn't risen yet, so she didn't expect him to be up already. She got out of bed and walked towards the giant doors in the room which led towards the terrace. She climbed the railings and rested her back towards the wall which supported the terrace. She sighed. Three months, three months since the night they met once more. People had started calling them, 'The Lovers of Power' for some reason. She closed her eyes, thinking of what Mai had told them two months ago.
"Zuko is dead. He committed suicide because of guilt," Mai had said.
Katara was in the middle of her mixed-up thoughts when she heard Aang voice, "Katara?" She looked at him. She smiled. He returned her smile and sat next to her. She then rested her head on his lap as he stroked her brown, wavy, hair. He kissed her forehead and said in his cheery voice, "Good Morning." Katara sat up, and kissed him on the cheek. She replied, "Good Morning, Aang." He smiled at her. "I have a present for you," he said, "I did some digging around, and found this." He raised a necklace.
It was the necklace he had made for her with Sokka's fishing line, much to Sokka's disappointment. Surprisingly, the flower he had used hadn't withered yet. She took it from his hands and tied it around her neck. After that, she pushed him backwards-careful not to make him fall off the balcony-and kissed him passionately. Aang snaked his hands into her hair, his hands becoming entangled in her brown locks. They slowly broke apart, as Katara whispered to him, "I love you Aang." "I love you too," Aang said kissing her forhead. She rested her forehead on his bare chest as he stroked her hair.
And they lay there, in peace, knowing their love for each other would never cease.
EVER.
