As I came back to earth, I heard voices.
"So when do we get our turn?"
"Don't you want her to be awake?" Nicholas snapped.
Wait, Nicholas?! I jerked fully awake and was surprised to see about fifteen people standing around. Most were men but there was one woman.
"She's up," the woman said monotonously.
I glared at her but it had no affect.
"Good morning gorgeous," Nicholas said.
He stalked forward with a smirk on his face.
"You won't get out of here alive," I snapped.
"Oh, you think your wolf will help you? What if I told you he was on a wild goose chase as we speak? I had a couple of my men run through their lands, now they're all chasing them," he said.
My heart dropped as I realized this was very possibly true, but I couldn't let him know that.
"Good luck with that, they're not as dumb as you think," I retorted.
"We shall see," he replied, "Now, for the fun."
He knelt in front of me and gave me a grin. As he leaned in I reeled back in disgust.
"Don't worry love, I'm not trying to kiss you," he assured me.
Then he lunged for my throat. Burning pain ripped from my neck and I let out a screech.
He pulled back long enough to mumble, "Finally."
I whimpered and tried to hide my neck but his overpowered me.
"Stop!" I cried.
He froze momentarily before regaining his composure and smirking.
"I have a shield, she can block you power."
So that's why the girl was here; she could some how shield him, all of them probably.
"Great," I mumbled.
He grinned again and attacked my neck once more. I clawed at his face but to no avail. Eventually things began to go black and I passed out again.

"Get them!"
"Get Nai Jacob!"
I opened my eyes and saw a brutal fight going on, and Nicholas running for me. I weakly moved and managed to gather my strength enough to stand, albeit I was a little wobbly.
"Come here bitch!" he snarled.
I jumped to the side with all my power and landed in front of a wolf that I thought was Seth. He ran for me but was side swiped and I heard cracking of ribs. I winced and looked at the man.
"Rip your head off," I demanded.
He hesitated but with jerky movements he grabbed his head.
"No!" he hissed.
To my surprise, he actually tore his head off.
"Whoa," I murmured.
I had actually grown in strength it seemed. I heard a soft whimper and saw Seth standing with trouble. I sighed and gathered my strength, walking over to him.
"I'm sorry pup," I whispered.
I rubbed his head and he licked my palm. I leaned to kiss his forehead but was butted aside, him taking the brunt of an attack from Nicholas.
"No Seth!" I shouted as Nicholas grabbed his neck.
"Nicholas, stop!" I screamed, "Come to me, you want me!"
He let go of Seth and smirked.
"You're right Nai, these brats don't matter."
It looked like we were losing and I felt tears coming to my eyes. My family was being hurt because I was here. If I could just disappear, I could help them all. Out of nowhere, a group barreled into the room.
"Carlisle!"
He was the first I recognized.
"Come to help us?" Nicholas asked.
"You're ridiculous," Edward sneered, "You actually think we came to help you?"
Then all hell broke loose. The fight was now even and before my eyes, the evil vampires were having their heads ripped off. The Cullen's were hell to deal with obviously, plus the pack was holding their own, except for Seth who was trying but losing.
"Help Seth!" I yelled.
He was now on the ground with a vampire on his chest. That was all I could see before Nicholas grabbed me.
"Mine," he hissed.
Suddenly we were thrown to the ground and Jacob's wolf form stood over us. He quickly put his paw to Nicholas's throat and grabbed his head with his jaw.
"Stay still Nicholas!" I commanded.
Once again, he listened long enough for Jacob to rip his head off. I watched in satisfaction as Carlisle brought over a match, lighting him on fire. He helped me up and I was surprised at the sense of gratification I felt knowing I helped kill Nicholas.

"What about Seth?"
"I had to reset his ribs but he should be fine in a couple of days," Carlisle said.
"Good," I said, finally feeling relief.
Jacob squeezed my hand and I smiled at him. Carlisle left in silence and I looked up at Jacob.
"It looks like everything is going to be okay," I whispered.
"Yes it is," he replied.
"Hey guys," Embry said, sighing and sitting next to us.
"Well, that was kind of anti-climactic," Paul said, leaning against the wall.
"At least no one was seriously hurt," Quil input.
"Yeah, but you'd think there would be more than just him dying," Paul replied.
"It's not a movie Paul, the bad guy doesn't always come back," I said.
"Let's hope not," Jacob said.
"If he does, I get the pleasure of killing him this time," Paul said.
We all let out a laugh.
"Leah!" Seth called.
I turned and saw Leah on the stairs. She was so quiet I almost forgot she was there. It was strange how she was always around but so quiet she was never really involved in things. I felt kind of bad for her. She jumped up at Seth's second call and ran up the stairs.
"Do you think Leah would talk to me?" I asked Jacob.
"Good luck," Paul laughed, "She keeps to herself and Seth unless she's being angry about something."
I sighed and nodded.
"There goes my chance at another friend," I murmured.
"You have enough friends, I think you'll be okay," Paul replied.
"You can never have too many friends as long as they're good ones," I retorted.
He shrugged then his eyes flew open.
"Shit, I left Rachel without telling her why!" Paul shouted.
He jumped up and ran out of the house, leaving us in amusement.
"You think she'll be mad?" I asked Jacob.
"Not when he explains," Jacob replied.
I was relieved. I didn't want Paul and Rachel to have a fight because of me.
"So she knows about the werewolf thing?" I asked.
He nodded.
"Since she's his imprint it's almost mandatory she knows," he explained.
"Hey, Seth wants you," Leah said suddenly, making me jump.
I gave her a quick smile and hurried upstairs. I saw Sam sitting by Seth and Emily was offering him soup.
"Hey Nai! I'm so glad you're okay," he said.
"Pup, you need to worry about yourself," I said softly, moved that he was thinking of me.
"But it would have all been in vain if something happened to you," he said.
"Thank you for what you did Seth," I murmured.
He waved his arm then winced. I walked over and offered to feed him.

"It'll be okay, I'm not really hungry," Seth said, "I just wanted proof you were okay."

I leaned down and kissed his forehead.

"You're too sweet Seth, now get some rest," I muttered.

I sat where Sam had vacated and started playing with Seth's hair. It didn't take long before he was asleep and snoring.

"I thought I heard snoring," Jacob chuckled.

I smiled up at him as he came over and he sat next to me.

"I just remembered Christmas is in two weeks," I said.

"Yeah, it ought to be fun," he replied.

I grabbed his hand and leaned on his shoulder, feeling calmer than I had in months. It was finally over.
