The Breakup pt 1

Leo's POV

"Leo…?" A voice asks. I can barely hear it over the pounding of my head and the sound of my hands hitting the punching bag. I ignore it and continue with my workout. "Yo, Leo!" Raph comes over and grabs my shoulder.

"WHAT!?" I turn around quickly, almost punching him in the face in the process. Raph stares at me with wide eyes. "What could you possibly want!?"

He continues to stare. "What happened with you and [Y/N]? Mikey said ya guys were fightin' this mornin'."

"We broke up." I growl, punching the bag with so much force that it knocks it off the chains.

"Ya what?" Raph asks in surprise. "How? What happened?"

"I don't want to talk about it Raph." I say.

"Leo. Tell me what happened." Raph presses on. I'm very close to just turning around and decking him in the face, but I don't. I keep my cool.

"I told you Raph… I don't want to talk about it."

"If ya talk 'bout it maybe it'll make ya feel bettah." Raph says. I'm silent for a long time. I let out a long sigh.

"I… I don't know what happened Raph. And now I've lost one of the most important people in my life because of it. I just… lost my temper." I admit.

"Whoa. You? Losing your temper? That's my job." Raph chuckles.

"Raph, I'm serious. I don't know what happened, but the next thing I knew we were yelling at each other."

"Well… Why don't ya start from the beginning." Raph said. I paused for a moment, then sighed.

"Okay, here's what happened…"

"Any turtles in the house?" [Y/N] yells through the lair. I look up from my book and smile. "Specifically any in a blue mask? Wielding double katana?" I chuckle and turn to set my book on the coffee table. I turn back around and jump a bit. [Y/N] is standing right behind the couch, smiling at me. "Scared ya, didn't I?"

"Just a bit." I laugh. "You're definitely getting better at stealth."

"Good! Maybe one of these days I'll be able to just sneak up behind you and take you down. Kind of like… THIS!" She jumps over the couch and tackles me to the ground. She tries to pin me to the ground but I'm able to free my hands. Her eyes widen when she realizes my hands are free and now she is just laying on top of me. "Don't." She warns.

"I have to defend myself!" I object. I raise my hands to her side and she quickly jumps off of me, taking off towards the kitchen.

"Gotta catch me first Fearless!" She giggles as she runs off. I smirk. After giving her a decent head start, I jump up and take off. I saw her run to the dojo so I ran there first. I cautiously entered, slowly and silently.

"[Y/N]?" I ask. "Come out, come out, wherever you are." A creaking sound comes from behind me. I wait for a second, anticipating my girlfriend's next move. She suddenly jumps at me from above, tackling me to the ground. I go for her sides and she starts to laugh.

"L-Leo! St-Stop!" She laughs. I continue to tickle her sides.

"I'm just protecting myself! Master Splinter always says the only way to victory is to unbalance your enemy." I tell her.

"Okay! Okay! I give up! You win!" She laughs. "Now stop!"

"I win, huh? I'm not sure if I believe you!"

"You do win! I surrender! Uncle! Uncle!" She squeals. I laugh and let her up. She just grins at me. "You're mean."

"You know you liked it." I say and wink. Her cheeks flushed pink as she looked away in embarrassment. I always thought it was cute when she was embarrassed. Her cheeks would go pink and she would completely look away from me, most of the times down at the ground.

"You gave up, [Y/N]." A voice says. We both look to the entrance to see Master Splinter walking in.

"Uhm… What are you talking about sensei?" My girlfriend asks.

"When Leonardo was… attacking you, you gave up. You did not fight back." He says.

"I… I didn't see how I could fight back. He found my weak spot."

"Then you find his." Master Splinter smiles. I get a sick feeling in my stomach as he walks in towards us.

"Leo has weaknesses…?" [Y/N] asks, eyeing me skeptically.

"Everyone has weaknesses. You just have to find them." Master Splinter says. "Leonardo, attack [Y/N]." I look at him in confusion.

"Like… attack her or "attack" her…" I wonder.

"Attack me. This will be interesting. I've never fought with you before." A small smile plays on my girlfriend's lips.

"Okay…" I drop my katana and get ready to attack [Y/N]. Sensei signals us to go. [Y/N] and I circle around the mat a few times before I launch myself at her. Right before I hit her, she drops to the ground in a crouch, allowing me to soar over her. I roll and land back on my feet. My eyebrow ridge raises at her.

"Donny has a tendency to do that. I've learned to avoid it." She shrugs. I punch at her, but she redirects it with her hand and leans out of the way. But while she is focusing on redirecting my blow, I swiftly swing my leg and knock her to the ground. She yelps as she falls down. I pin her down to the ground.

"Now [Y/N]." Master Splinter says. I wait for her to do something. She looks like she's thinking very hard about what to do. Suddenly, she grins. Very seductively too. Next thing I know she's reaching up and kissing me . My head goes fuzzy, just like every time she kisses me, and I can't think straight. My eyes slowly start to shut. Before I can even realize it, she moves her legs and kicks me in the stomach, flipping me over her in the process. I lay on the ground in surprise and pain. She kicks really hard.

"Did I just beat Leonardo? The great, all powerful Leonardo?" She asks with a smirk on her face. Master Splinter chuckles. She holds her hand out and I take it, allowing her to pull me up.

"You didn't beat me. You caught me off guard." I say.

"Was that not the point of the lesson Leonardo?" Master Splinter asks. I retrieve my katana from where I set them up against the wall.

"Yes."

"Don't worry Leo, I won't tell the guys that I kicked your little green butt." [Y/N] smirks.

"You did what!?" A voice gasped. I looked to the door to see Mikey standing there.

"Nothing Mikey." I snap, feeling my face go hot. A small smile forms on Mikey's face.

"Did your girlfriend just take you out?" He asks.

"No!"

"Whoa, whoa, Leo, don't get all defensive, dude." Mikey holds his hands up.

"It's no big deal Mikey. Master Splinter was just teaching me a lesson." [Y/N] says. She walks over to him with a smile though. "But for the record… [Y/N], one. Leonardo, none."

I narrow my eyes and feel my face grow even hotter. "For the record, next time I won't go so easy on you."

"Ohh." Mikey says. [Y/N] looks hurt by my sudden hostility, but she soon is narrowing her eyes at me and crossing her arms.

"What's the deal Leo? So I beat you once? Who cares! We were just joking." She says.

"Michelangelo let us give them some privacy." Master Splinter says cautiously while eyeing us. He looks concerned. Mikey and Master Splinter exit the room and close the door, leaving me and my girlfriend in fuming silence.

"Well?" She demands.

"I'm their leader. I can't have them thinking that I'm weak and can be beat by a girl." I respond. Her expression softens up.

"Leo, no one thinks you're weak." She says. "Besides, you've been beat by Karai before. How is this any different?"

The next sentence came out of my mouth before I could even process it.

"Well, for starters, Karai is better than you." I mumble, still raged by the thought that I was beaten in front of my master and brother. I think about what I just said, and then soon regret it. [Y/N]'s face switches from anger to shock. I see her eyes start to water as she lets the sentence sink in. She takes a few steps away from me.

"W-What?" She whispers.

"No! That's not what I meant! I just meant that… I meant…" I struggle to find the words.

"You what!?" She yells, suddenly outraged. Even though she's angry, I can see the tears streaming down her face. "You wanted to find some way to tell me that Karai will always be better than me? I knew that you liked her at one point Leo, but I figured you were completely over her! You told me that she was no competition! Maybe you were just lying through your teeth." I narrow my eyes.

"Will you let me finish?" I ask.

"Finish what? I don't really want to hear about how much better Karai is than me." She says.

"Do you not trust me? Why would I like Karai!?"

"I don't know, maybe because she's sooo much better than me!" [Y/N] suggests. My mouth drops.

"You are so difficult, you know that? You never listen to anything I'm saying." I snap.

"Well maybe I'm done listening," She starts. As more tears flow down her face, she says the line that I hoped she would never say. Ever. "We're over Leo." I stand there, mouth hanging open. Her expression turns sad as she runs out of the dojo. I just stand there, my heart wrenching as I hear her sobs vanishing as she exits the lair.

"Sounds ta me like it was just a mistake." Raph says. "Maybe ya should just call 'er and talk ta 'er."

"I messed up so badly Raph. I don't know if I can make this right." I sigh. Raph comes closer and sets a hand on my shoulder.

"Just see 'er, man. Talk ta 'er. I'm sure she's just as angry 'bout this as ya are." Raph leaves me and heads to the kitchen. I knew he was right. I just had to set things straight again. I love her more than life itself and I would do anything to be with her again. I just hope she feels the same. I turn and walk out of the dojo, heading towards my room. As soon as I get in there I shut my door. My hand goes to my shell-cell on my belt. I dial the all too familiar number and prepare to fight to keep the love of my life. Much to my dismay, the call goes directly to voice mail. I find my head spinning and my heart stopping when I hear what is on the machine though.

"Leonardo. This is Karai. In case you are wondering, I have your insignificant little girlfriend in my possession. Meet me at the docks at midnight… or you will never see her again."

DUN DUN DUUUUUNNNNNNNN! XD Like I said, don't kill me! I'm going somewhere with this! And I think you guys will like it! :)

So, this little story of mine is coming to an end. But don't worry, there will be at least 5 more chapters! I'll be wrapping up all of my Reader/Turtle stories soon, because I think it's time to move on to bigger things! And I want to focus a bit on my story Remembering Who You Are. I like that story. :3
