Meanwhile, on the barren wasteland of the Everdawn Basin, the remaining Moonbloods were recuperating from the tedious battle with General Gaius' army. To their dismay, many a Moonblood brethren were slain by the hands of the corrupted soldiers. Many of the soldiers were carrying the bodies of slain Moonbloods and burned them in a proper funeral pyre. Some were saying blessings as the bodies charred away into embers. Moonblood medics healed wounded soldiers with special salves and ointments. The recovery process had begun. In the main Moonblood camp, two scouts were told to search the outer Moonblood territory in case of stragglers of Gaius' men.

"I can't believe it! We did it! We actually did it!" the first scout exclaimed.

"We couldn't have done it without the Sen-Mithrarin. His bravery and noble actions will we handed down through our generations." the second scout replied, kicking a piece of scrap from a destroyed turret.

"Ugh...those turrets were a pain." The first scout started, but the two heard a soft groaning coming from behind the wreckage of the turret. The two quieted down and slowly walked around to the other side of the turret. There they saw a heavily wounded soldier of Gaius lying against the turret wreck. The two scouts immediately pointed their spears towards the soldier, cautious that it could be a trick.

"Well lookie what he have here." The first scout smirked. The soldier slowly looked up. His face was caked with blood that seemed to pour from every orifice on his face. He slowly held out a shaky hand and attempted to say something.

"H...H...He...never...dies..." The soldier then used his remaining energy to grow a big bloody smile over his face, then he gave up his last remaining breath and slumped his arm and head. He was now dead. The Moonblood scouts rested their spears and looked at each other.

"What do you think he meant by that?" the first scout asked.

"I don't know, but I didn't like the sound of it...and the way he smiled..." the second scout paused "...We're almost at the edge of the territory. Let's go." The scouts continued their search for stragglers like the soldier, but that soldier's last message and that sneaky smile continued looping in their minds, trying to crack what he meant.

Finally, the scouts reached the edge of the territory. There was a giant cliff that dropped down to a lava pit. "H-hey...isn't this..." The first scout started.

"Yes. This is where the Sen-Mithrarin ended Gaius' reign once and for all." both of the scouts looked over the edge of the cliff. Lava was slowly oozing like a demonic river and the heat was strong, even from the scouts' height.

"Let's go, this heat is starting to dry my scales." The first scout said. Both of the scouts turned around and began walking back, but something stopped them. They heard a whooshing sound behind them. They turned around to see a strange red wisp swirling around, accelerating in the process. The scouts covered their faces as the wind was getting violent from the swirling.

"What's happening?!" the first scout shouted. Before they could speak, a burst of energy plowed them back, knocking them on their backs. The scouts grunted as they got up, and in the place of the swirling red mist was a large figure, kneeling with his head down. He seemed to be wearing a robe. Then the figure stood up and lofted his head to look at the scouts. The scouts wanted to scream, but they were in too much shock; standing before them was General Gaius. He looked just as he did before he died except part of his face was severely charred. The scouts stuttered and scrambled to their feet. Gaius began to slowly walk towards them.

"Moonbloods!" Gaius bellowed. "Send a message to your brethren: Gaius has returned!" Gaius then created a wave of energy towards the Moonbloods which blew them back a far distance. The Moonbloods didn't hesitate to get back on their feet and sprint as fast as they could back to the camp.
