Hey everyone! Long time, no update :P Anyway I have a quick question for you: What are some of Kuroi's best moments? Either funny, brave, etc. So this update/chapter is going to be about Hibari's battle. But because his battle is soooo short, I think that I shall add some other stuff to it. Anyway, LET'S BEGIN!
Oh yeah and if Kuroi is a bit Mary-Sue-ish, I am so sorry! I never understood the term before I started writing. So I was just writing whatever. She is an orphan, but she doesn't care. I made her an orphan since I didn't want to write about her parents all that much, not to make her back story sad and pity her. It was just out if laziness. I'm trying to change it a little so that she's more realistic. Oh and her power isn't stronger than Tsuna's or anything like that. She just has sudden outbursts that she can't control. It's like Lambo when he lights his ring; it's just an outburst. Also, keep in mind that she's nine years old. She can't fight at that age. She's helpless. She'll stand up for herself, but she can't protect herself. She's like Fuuta but with more spunk.
I do not own any of Katekyo Hitman Reborn. All credit goes to Akira Amano except for the characters and things I have created.
[3rd Person Limited: Hibari Kyouya]
"Hibari!"
Hibari woke up instantly as the sound of his own name rang in his ears. He took a hold of his tonfa and held it against the culprit who woke him from his slumber.
"Hey!" Hibari blinked when he realized it was only Kuroi messing around. She was kneeling right next to him on his bed when he woke up.
"That's not very nice to do that, you know?" She frowned.
Hibari remained silent and pulled his weapon away from her throat.
"Neh~ Are you all right? You seem quieter than usual..."
"What are you talking about?" Hibari pulled the covers off and sat on the edge of the bed.
"Well... you just seem more silent than usual," Kuroi then started consulting with herself, "But, of course, you did just wake up... Oh well- Get up!"
"I don't appreciate your pestering. You will be bitten to death if you continue," He threatened.
"Don't you know I'm not afraid of you!?" Kuroi scoffed and joked.
Hibari smirked at her statement evilly, "Do you wish to test that theory?"
Obviously realizing he wasn't joking, Kuroi jumped off the bed and ran out the door not wishing to receive a beating. Hibari merely watched her run out of the room and then smirked inwardly. Getting up and making his bed, he then walked over to his closet and picked out his usual attire.
*CRASH*
"Hn?" Hibari was in the middle of putting his jacket on lazily over his shoulders when a loud noise rang in his ears. Checking to see where it came from and what it was, he walked out to the hallway and headed toward the front of the house. He eventually worked his way up to the kitchen and found Kuroi next to a shattered window; the same window that was shattered a while earlier.
Hibari narrowed his eyes on her and crossed his arms.
"Hibari! Hibari! You're not gonna believe this!" Kuroi went on.
"I know," Hibari replied without any sign of amusement.
"Th-There was this huuuuuge spider crawling around the kitchen! It scared me so much. So.. So in order to get rid of it, I grabbed the nearest object and flung it at it," Kuroi explained whilst flailing her arms about to reenact the incident, "But it turned out that the spider crawled onto the window. So... I threw the object at it and... It's dead now."
"Which one? The spider or the banana?" Hibari rose an eyebrow.
"The banana- I mean, the spider! Of course the spider! Wh-what else would it be?" Kuroi was obviously nervous from being caught in her little lie.
"Next time; think before you talk," Hibari chided and walked off to go get a dust pan for Kuroi to sweep up the broken glass. Kuroi decided to walk along side him.
"Neh~... Hibari? Your battle is tonight... Isn't it?" She asked with hesitance.
"Hn? What of it?" He glanced at her out of the corners of his eyes.
"Uh- nothing. It's nothing," Kuroi looked down at the floor with a concerned expression on her face. Hibari wasn't ever one to pry so he kept to himself and didn't bother to consult her about her reaction.
Hibari took out a dustpan and broom from a closet and gave them to Kuroi, "Go clean the mess you made."
"All right," Kuroi walked off, dragging the broom on the floor as she went.
Hibari watched her for a few seconds before leaving to attend to his own matters. Before leaving, he remembered something he needed to tell the child and turned back to her.
"Don't come to the school tonight," He ordered.
"Why do you say that?" Kuroi shot her head up at the sudden command.
"Because you get in the way," Hibari retorted.
"I don't get in the way!" Kuroi snapped back at him.
"I don't need you to be any more of a hindrance than you are now. Therefor, you are prohibited from entering school grounds this evening."
"But, I-"
"If you enter school grounds, I will bite you to death, showing no mercy," Hibari narrowed his eyes in aggravation.
"... Fine. I'll stay here," Kuroi looked away, annoyed with his demanding orders.
Without another word, he headed out the door and walked over to Namimori Middle. The whole while he felt a very small bit of him express... Guilt? Regret? He wasn't sure. All he knew was that he was mostly not sorry for what he said. Mostly.
Hibari went up to the Reception Room and began going over paperwork. He had nothing else to do, so he decided to just get it over with. Finishing the boring task at noon, he walked out of the Reception Room and patrolled the school grounds, as usual. Nothing was out of the ordinary and there wasn't anyone wrecking havoc around the school. Seeing as how everything was calm and in place, Hibari found it to be the perfect opportunity to take a nap on top of the school roof. With that, Hibari laid down on his back, propping his head up with his arms for cushioningand drifting off to sleep.
...
"...ba..ri..."
Hibari could hear his name being called out faintly, though to him, it merely sounded like it was just coming from a dream. Even if it was reality, he didn't want to deal with the person disrupting his sleep. On the other hand, the person was interrupting him...
"... Kyouya!"
Hibari woke up instantly at the sound of his first name being called. He absolutely despised anyone calling by his first name.
"Don't call my name using such informalities," He sat up rather angrily, yet he didn't show much of his emotions, referring to the person who used his first name.
"I'm sorry, but you weren't waking up. Which is weird since you're such a light sleeper..."
Hibari looked behind him and found Kuroi sitting on the floor.
"What are you doing here?" He questioned with annoyance.
"You said I couldn't come to the school at night, but it's not night time yet. Besides, when you were gone for several hours and left without telling me when you were going to be back," Kuroi looked away, "So... I got worried. I know that you're usually at the school, so I decided to check to see if you were here."
There was a bit of a long pause between the two.
"... Go home," Hibari ordered.
"But I-"
"Now."
"... No," Kuroi stood her ground and looked up at Hibari with her golden eyes.
"Do you love being a defiant herbivore?" He narrowed his eyes.
"..."
"Then, I'm sure you love being bitten to death," Hibari took out his tonfas and approached Kuroi.
"N-No..." Kuroi didn't budge at all.
"Then, go home."
"... I don't want to."
Hibari was running out of patience. Becoming exceedingly frustrated with her rebellious act, he rose his arm in striking manner. The young child still did not budge. He swung his tonfa down on her. However, all he swung at was air. His victim shifted and he felt something come in contact with him. Hibari's eyes widened a little bit and his expression altered from infuriation to confusion and incomprehension. He looked down and found Kuroi wrapping her frail arms around his waste. This surprised him, catching him entirely off guard. He didn't know how to respond since no one has ever intentionally hugged him before out of affection.
"... Get off," He ordered, his voice being unsettled. Though, he may have been taken off guard, he still did not like close contact.
"I'm sorry... I just... Nevermind," Kuroi turned and walked out the door, most likely heading back home.
Hibari was still a bit uneasy about the situation. For the most part he was confused and angry about the close, unneccesary contact. However, he was slightly content in a sense. About five percent of him didn't mind the contact with her.
In any case, it was already dark and nearing the time for Hibari to fight.
[3rd Person Limited: Kuroi]
Kuroi walked down the stairs recalling the hug she gave to the demon skylark. She worried over him. She worried about Xanxus's plan with the giant robot. Is Hiabri really going to be all right, she wondered. He's strong-very strong. But, is he strong enough to bypass that enormous, metal brute?
She shook her head. Of course he is! He's Hibari! He never loses! ... Except for that one time- but he won't lose to something that isn't even alive! It's a piece of machinery; it can't think.
It was getting extremely dark out with few lamposts to light her way. She turned onto her home street and walked slowly up the sidewalk. She was anxious to know of Hibari's being at this point.
*BOOOOOOOOMMMM*
Kuroi stopped dead in her tracks. Did that come from the school? She didn't want to know, but she turned slowly around anyway to find out if it was true or not? Kuroi's eyes widened at the sight of a large smoke cloud extremely close to the school. She took off in a full on sprint.
"Hibari...? What's going on...?" She babbled to herself.
When she finally managed to get to the school grounds, she found Gokudera, Yamamoto and Ryohei standing outside of a fence. Rapid fire gunshots filled the sound in the air.
"What is this..?" Kuroi mumbled confused.
She diverted her attention from the trio over to the ring. Her eyes widened in horror. Right before her eyes, she witnessed Hibari fighting Xanxus. Why Xanxus?! He's not supposed to fight Hibari! What's going on!?
The Gatling guns continued to fire upon them. Something moved out of the corner of her eye. She looked over to her right and saw the giant robot lying on the ground, missing an arm, smoke leaving its body. But... It looked like it was still alive somehow. Suddenly, a bright beam shot out from the smoke cloud and went straight to Hibari and Xanxus. The beam scathed the side of Hibari's leg, causing him to kneel to the ground on shock and pain.
Kuroi couldn't say anything; she was speechless.
Rockets and missiles rained from the sky and struck down where everyone else was. It wasn't just attacking Tsuna's side, it went after both! That robot was going on a rampage.
[3rd Person Limited: Hibari]
The monkey's laughter was quite annoying. Not only did he laugh at the destruction of the school, he used Hibari. Hibari was pissed off beyond belief, but he couldn't do much given the circumstances. The battlefield and a berserk robot weren't to his favor.
"Hibari!"
His eyes widened exponentially.
"Kuroi-chan!?" Yamamoto was shocked as well.
"Get out of there! It's dangerous!" Ryohei informed frantically.
Hibari's anger finally went over the top if it hadn't already. Her disobedience not only endangered herself, but went against exactly what he told her not to do! Hibari turned sharply towards her and walked after her. When he was about twenty yards away, Xanxus was already within reach. Hibari stopped in his tracks and watched the monkey with contemptuous eyes.
"Oi, trash" Xanxus bent over a little, completely towering over the frail child, and grabbed Kuroi's right hand, "Where did you get this kind of ring?"
In pain from his tight grip on her wrist, Kuroi spat out, "I told you: it's a family heirloom!"
"Don't bullshit me. No one just ends up with this kind of ring like that," Xanxus said irritated.
"I'm telling the truth-"
"Shut up hell up, trash," Xanxus threw Kuroi to the ground and pointed his gun at her.
"Neh. The only one that can push that little hindrance around... Is me," Hibari stepped up with his tonfas at the ready, "Are you ready for Round 2, Monkey?"
"Cheh! You aren't worth my time. Besides, I think Mosca will get you before you'd have a chance to reach me or this little girl of yours. Hahaha! Stupid trash! All of you!"
A flash lit up the sky and missiles started raining down near the three. Xanxus got out of the way easily and left Kuroi there to die. Wanting to go after him, but seeing Kuroi in danger, he sprinted to her and pulled her off the ground and away from the impact. Hibari shielded her from falling debris by using his own body as protection. When dirt stopped raining on them, Hibari released Kuroi from his protective grasp, but turned her around instantly to face him.
"I told you not to come here, herbivore. Were your ears plugged or do you just not like to follow my orders?" Hibari scolded her. He wanted to bite her to death, but it really wasn't the right time since there was a giant robot destroying school grounds.
"*sniff*.. I'm... Sorry. *sniff* I heard an explosion when I was going home and I wasn't sure what it was. So I came here when I saw the smoke. I was just..." Kuroi trailed off.
"... You think I'm that weak to lose to a piece of machinery that can't even control itself?"
"N-No, I just didn't..."
"I'm no herbivore. I won't lose to anything so pathetic as that thing. Especially since it's that monkey's doing. He will surely be bitten to death for destruction of school property," Hibari glared at Xanxus and then turned back to Kuroi, "Now, go home."
Kuroi looked sullen and started walking back. Hibari looked at Xanxus to see that he was grinning with such an evil intent. But he wasn't looking at Hibari, he seemed to be looking a little bit past him. Hibari looked in the direction Xanxus was looking in and instantly knew what that monkey was thinking. He walked after Kuroi and stopped her.
"On second thought, it would be more troublesome to leave you alone seeing as you have a tendency to destroy my home," He said closing his eyes.
Suddenly, the mosca changed targets and focused its fire onto three people that wore a Kokuyou uniform. The Gatling gun also changed direction and focused in on them. Right when both of them fired, something bright orange stopped the attacks. It looked like flames. As the flames died down, Hibari could easily see that it was Tsuna standing between the three and the robot.
[3rd Person Limited: Kuroi]
"Tsuna!" Kuroi exclaimed with excitement.
The Gola Mosca released several missiles upon Tsuna. Tsuna's hands lit up in flames again and propelled himself into the air, flying past all of the missiles.
"He-He can fly!" Yamamoto and Gokudera were both astonished.
"Oh, that's right. Everyone else was knocked out when Tsuna got this power fighting Mukuro," Kuroi refreshed her memory.
Tsuna managed to sever the other arm off of the mosca and destroyed it. It continued firing at Tsuna, completely locking target on him. Though, he was able to evade every attack. When it went up into the air directly in front of him, it tried to release the compressed particle beam onto Tsuna, but was countered and punched mercilessly out of the air and back to the ground.
"Xanxus, what is this all about-" Tsuna was cut off by the machine charging back at him again. With one hand, he slowed it down and used his other hand to completely slice down the middle of the mosca. Tsuna stood back and analyzed it when an elderly man appeared out of the machine and fell to the ground.
"Who's that?" Kuroi pointed at the man.
Reborn went over to the man and Tsuna, "It looks likhet he Ninth Boss was forced to be Mosca's power source..."
"You've gona and killed the Ninth Boss."
Kuroi looked at Xanxus with disgust.
"Who was it? Who struck down the old man with no mercy whatsoever?" He continued, "Who was it? Who split Mosca in half with the old man inside?"
Kuroi could see Tsuna losing it and admitting to himself that it was his fault. Angered at Xaxnus's tenacity to make that Tsuna was the one at fault, Kuroi marched after Xanxus only to be pulled back by Hibari.
"You stupid monster! You greedy scumbag! You're the one who had the Ninth in the stupid machine! I bet you knew that as well! How was Tsuna supposed to know that he was in there. If he really wanted to kill him, then why is he so devastated and confused, you moronic double-brow! You're the one who should in questioning! Why was the Ninth in there in the first place, huh!? Why didn't you tell anyone about it, huh!?" Kuroi was utterly infuriated. All Xaxnus did was just stare at her with annoyance.
When Kuroi was about to say more, Hibari pulled her back and said coldly, "Enough."
Abiding his command, Kuroi turned around and stood behind him, gripping his arm in fury.
There was movement of the Ninth and hebegan speaking to Tsuna, though Kuroi couldn't really hear since she was so far away. Kuroi could hear bits and pieces of the explanation of Xanxus's past and what caused his actions now. He reached up for Tsuna, pointing at his forehead and lit a small orange flame, and then fell limp and unconscious.
"How dare you kill the Ninth boss!" Xaxnus shouted.
Hibari looked at Kuroi out of the corners of his eyes and said firmly, "Don't do it."
Xanxus went on claiming Tsuna as the murderer and is treasonous against the Vongola.
"I will kill you as vengeance!" He sneered.
He was just after the position as Boss the whole time. He didn't care about anything except for the throne. Kuroi shut her eyes tightly and tried to hold in her anger. Her ring was lighting up again, but she couldn't see that it was. Hibari watched her as the flames grew.
"Knock it off," He ordered her.
Opening her eyes, noticed what she was doing and tried to calm down. Kuroi tried to not pay attention to what was going on. She needed to calm down before she created another outburst like before with Mukuro. She could hear Reborn giving a long explanation, but she didn't focus in on what he was saying snnce she knew she would only get more angry.
"Xanxus," Kuroi shot her attention over to Tsuna, "I will take that ring back. You will not follow in the Ninth Boss's footsteps!"
"Hah! Take that, Double-brow!" Kuroi shouted.
"I'll carve your name into Vongola's history books as the little runt who dared to defy Xanxus all by his little self," Xanxus smirked.
"He's not alone! Juudaime's will is our will as well," Gokudera stepped in.
"My will is my own," Hibari stated whilst raising his tonfas.
Xanxus, Belphegor and the ugly duckling prepared to fight Tsuna and his Guardians.
"Hold it right there, please," the Cervello came out, "We will be in charge of the battle for the Ninth Boss's revenge. We have a duty to oversee the whereabouts of the Vongola Rings. Any changing-of-hands of the rings will not be approved without our ratification. The winner of this battle will become the next Vongola Boss. So we declare this the Sky Ring Battle. In other words, this will be the last of the seven ring contests battles held over the past week. How does that sound Xanxus-sama?"
"Not a bad idea," He agreed.
"Then, tomorrow night, will everyone please assemble at Nami Middle, here?"
Xanxus gave Tsuna the other half of the ring. A bright, powerful light emanated from his hand. When the light faltered, Xanxus and the others were gone.
"Are we too late?"
Kuroi diverted her attention to Dino. He had a group of men with him.
"Help the Ninth Boss and the injured," He ordered his men and then spoke briefly with Reborn, "I received from the CEDEF team. I never thought it would come to this..."
"You okay, Hibari?" Yamamoto questioned him, "How unusual for you to be so restrained."
"If this situation can draw out that Herbivore's true strength," he replied, "I won't interfere just yet."
With that said, Hiabri turned and headed home with Kuroi following alongside him.
[3rd Person Omniscient]
Yamamoto, Gokudera and Ryohei watched as the demon of Namimori left the school grounds with Kuroi.
"You know, aside from being restrained, it seems that he's more... tolerant of the brat," Gokudera pointed out.
"What makes you say that?" Ryohei questioned.
"Well for one thing, she was able to cling to him without him biting her to death," Gokudera explained.
"Not only that, but it seems he's a little more protective of her. Instead of going after Xanxus when he continued taunting him, he saved Kuroi-chan from getting struck by all of those attacks from the Gola Mosca," Yamamoto inouted his own words.
"That's right," Ryohei confirmed, "Hibari's becoming a pretty good guy."
"Cheh! He's still just an annoying bastard with no respect for Juudaime," Gokudera crossed his arms in disgust.
"Hahaha! Oh, c'mon he's not that bad. She he could be a loner and a bit violent but he's not a bad guy," Yamamoto tried to reassure him.
"Tch, you baseball idiot! Of course you'd think that!"
"Oi, oi, Gokudera-" Ryohei tried to reason.
"Shut up, Turf-top!"
[Somewhat of an END]
This chapter was little shorter from the last and I tried to take out as much filler as possible. I didn't really know how to end the chapter so I just did whatever with Gokudera, Yamamoto and Ryohei. But yaayyyy, the next chapter will be the Sky Battle! I think I might have the Sky Battle split into two parts, but then I might not. It all just depends when a good stopping point would be and how long it is. Then after the Sky battle is the future arc! Let me know if I should continue into the future arc. :)
Tell me what you think in a review and what your favorite part and (or) quote was. Until next time, I will see you in the next update.
POOF!
