Hello & welcome to yet another episode of "NGE: Enter the Orichalcos!" In our previous episode, Shinji, Rei & Asuka found themselves in a corner when facing the wrath of Dark Marik, who had not only stolen the Winged Dragon of Ra, but Obelisk the Tormentor as well. With the odds against them, they must make one final stand against Dark Marik or all hope is lost. Meanwhile, Big also tries to make a comeback in his duel against Yubel, but with the coming of "Yubel-The Ultimate Nightmare" and with only 100 life points left, things are not looking good...
Before we get to our next episode, I'd like to announce I'm calling off the "All Heroes: Battle of Space & Time!" Why? I've got something much better in mind.
With that in mind, here's the episode!
Episode 23: The 3 Children Unite; Fly Straight, Stardust Dragon!
Continuing from last episode, Big looked at the tremondous size of Yubel-The Ultimate Nightmare (12-star/ 0 - 500 ATK) as they were still surrounded by the Seal of Orichalcos. Yubel crossed her arms and said "It doesn't matter what you do from here, Big! If you try and use a card to defend yourself, I will destroy it. If you try to defend yourself with any monster, I can destroy it. Face it, Big! Your only option is to forfeit this duel and give your soul to the Orichalcos!" By this, Big began to fall to his knees (Big: 100 LP), as he looked at his hand (E-Hero Neos, Mirage Tube* & A Hero Emerges) and begins to contemplate what to do next. "What if Yubel is right? What if I can't win?" Before Big could continue his train of thoughts, the spirits of Winged Kuriboh & Neos appeared before him. Neos soon said "Big, please do not give up. Do you remember when we faced the Dark King?" Big nodded, as Neos then said "Those same feelings are now challenged by Yubel. While I do not understand what happened years before between you & Yubel, I will not allow Yubel to do this to you. For this duel, I ask of you to let me fight with you." The Winged Kuriboh nodded, as it stood alongside Big as well. "You want to fight too, don't you old friend?" Big asked, to which the Winged Kuriboh nodded, as Big smiled and said "Ok, old friend. Let's give Yubel a run for her money!" Both of their spirits disappear, as Big soon got to his feet and told Yubel "As long as I have life points Yubel...THIS DUEL IS STILL ON!" Yubel chuckled and told him "By all means, but mark my words when I say this will be your final turn. When my turn starts, this duel will come to it's end." Big snorts and said "We'll see about that. I'll place 2 cards face down to end my turn." 2 cards appear in front of Big, as all he can do now is wait and see.
Meanwhile, at the 3-on-1 duel...
"It's my turn!" Rei announced as she drew her card (Attack Transfer) and came up with an idea! However, before she could say anything, she started noticing Shinji began to pant. "Pilot Ikari, are you well?" Rei asked, as Shinji replied "Yes, Rei! I'll be okay!" Rei did not believe him, but for now had to trust him as she soon asked "Pilot Sohryu, I have a plan to defeat Ra and win this duel! However, I need your help!" Asuka looked at Rei and asked "Really? You know how to bring down that monster? If you don't recall, we still have to destroy Energy Chain before we do anything or Shinji will lose his soul!" Shinji soon told them "Don't worry about me! Rei, if you have a plan to defeat Ra, then let's do it! Anything's better than what he's done to Ra & Obelisk!" Rei soon turned to Dark Marik's field and recalled how many items were equipped to Ra, Obelisk included, as Rei said "Pilot Ikari, I promise I will do whatever I can! However, right now I need you to trust me when I say we can defeat this monster and save your god cards!" Shinji blinked, unsure if he could believe Rei's words but trusted her regardless. He eventually said "Ok Rei, I trust you!" Rei smiled and said "I will switch Red Eyes to DEF mode and place one card face down to end my turn!" Red Eyes roared before defending itself with it's claws (2400 ATK - 2000 DEF), as a 4th card appears in front of her.
Asuka soon announced "Now it's my turn!" as she drew her card (Graceful Charity) and said "I activate Graceful Charity! I can draw 3 cards, and then send 2 to the graveyard!" Asuka drew her 3 cards (Blue Eyes White Dragon x2 and Dragon's Mirror), as she sent her other 2 Blue Eyes White Dragons to the graveyard. Then she announced "And next, I play Dragon's Mirror! By removing the 3 Blue Eyes in my graveyard from the game, I can special summon their respective Fusion Monster. So, come forth Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon!" Asuka removed the 3 dragon cards from her graveyard, as Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon finally arrived onto Asuka's field (12-star/ 4500 ATK). Dark Marik chuckled as he said "Well, your new monster is impressive but it's all for naught! My Winged Dragon of Ra is still stronger by 500 points, so what can you do with that 3 headed weakling?" Asuka replies "It's not me you have to worry about! Bak...err, Shinji...me & Rei are leaving everything we have right now to you! This is our only chance to wipe him out, so come on and bring down this son of a bitch. Got it?" Shinji nodded, as Asuka said "That's it for me! Shinji, it's up to you!"
Shinji nodded and said "Ok, Marik it's down to you and me!" However, as he was about to draw his card, Shinji's eyesight became blury, as Dark Marik said "Yes, it is! I can't wait to see just what sort of trick you're going to try and pull. Just remember: If you attack Ra, I might take battle damage that would probably bring me down a bit, but you'll lose the duel!" Shinji's blurry eyesight didn't stop him from saying "That might be, but Asuka & Rei are trusting me with this duel and I won't let them down! This is our final turn, and I won't..." Shinji suddenly stopped speaking and fell onto the ground, as Asuka shouted "SHINJI!" As she & Rei looked, Dark Marik did nothing more than laugh, as Asuka soon turned towards him and asked "What's so funny, you son of a bitch?" Dark Marik could only howl with laughter as he replied "Both of you! Did you really think I would come into this duel without some form of a backup plan? If that were so, then clearly you know absolutely nothing about the Egyptian God Cards!" Rei soon asked "What do you mean?" as Dark Marik replied "The Egyptian Gods themselves, Obelisk the Tormentor, Slifer the Sky Dragon, and the Winged Dragon of Ra, can only be properly controlled by those of ancient descent. The only ones with that ability, other than me, are Seto Kaiba and Yugi Mutou. Sadly for you, as duel monsters does not exist in this dimension, none of you are of ancient descent, thus none of you have any real possibility of ever truly controlling the Gods. Of all of us, there is only one person who has the right to control them…AND THAT WILL BE ME!" Dark Marik soon throws his head up into the air and starts to laugh once again, as Asuka growls and Rei looks on. However, a weak voice soon says "You don't have that right!" Asuka & Rei look at Shinji, who slowly starts to stir, as Dark Marik stops laughing long enough to say "Oh? You're still around? Give up, boy! You can't possibly understand how powerful an Egyptian God Card truly is! Do yourself a favor and just surrender the duel and the God Cards to me!" Shinji soon started to get to his feet, as Dark Marik soon added "I promise to use the God Cards in the way they were meant to be used: Death, Destruction, Doom! You can't deny it! They will serve as not only my own personal army, but they will aid the Great Leviathan in destroying our two worlds and in their ruins, I will rule my world with an iron fist! You three on the other hands…oh, who am I kidding? Your stories will end here!" Shinji soon got to his feet, rather slowly, as Dark Marik says "So, go! Forfeit! Run away, child! Give up like the cowards you three truly are!" Dark Marik soon began to laugh once again, but Shinji quietly said "I will not run away…not from a bully like you!"
Dark Marik stopped laughing once more, as Shinji then said "I had to deal with people like you my entire life. My father abandoned me, my mother's soul is trapped inside Unit-01, my life is practically screwed up, and you think I'm going to run from someone like you?" Dark Marik only looked on, a sinister look on his face, as Shinji said "Right now, Big is also fighting with everything he's got and I know he won't run away! So now, neither will I!" Dark Marik chuckled and said "Well then child, by all means show me what you are capable of!"
Meanwhile, Yubel announced "It's my turn! Prepare for the end!" as she drew her card (Flint) and said "And now, Big, prepare to meet the end. This is where you will finally pay for all your sins and failures! I attack directly with the Ultimate Nightmare!" At that point, the Ultimate Nightmare's heads began to aim at Big, their mouths beginning to flare up. Big's eyes, however, narrowed and said "Then, let me give you some advice from father himself: No matter what the scenerio, never give up! I activate the trap card A Hero Emerges!" Big trap card reveals itself, as he states "Thanks to this card, when you called for an attack you can pick any card in my hand and if it's a monster card I can summon it. Sadly for you, I have only one monster in my hand and it just so happens to be one very specific monster...This!" Big soon plays the E-Hero Neos card, as Neos himself appears in front of Big (7-star/ 2500 ATK)! "Yubel, meet Neos!" Yubel chuckled as Neos stood in front of Big with his arms crossed, as she said "So you summon a new monster and you think you can beat me? HA! Remember that when my monster attacks on of yours, not only is your monster destroyed but you take damage equal to the difference in ATK points." The Ultimate Nightmare fired upon Neos as Big announced "Oh, but I'm not done. Next, I activate the magic card Mirage Tube!" Big's remaining face down card soon revealed itself and created a gust of wind that blocked the attack, as Big stated " Thanks to this card, not only does it block your attack but you take damage equal to Neos' ATK points!" At that point, the attack itself was reflected back at Yubel as she lost 2500 life points.
(Yubel: 1500 LP)
Yubel growled, as Big smirked and said "Well, suprised yet?" Yubel, however, replied "Not in the slightest, but there's always more then one way to destroy a monster. I play the magic card, Flint!" Yubel's new card quickly created a strange metallic bug-like creature with spears for arms, as Yubel stated "Due to this card's effect, I can equip it to your Neos to decrease it's ATK points!" The creature soon clamped itself on Neos, who groaned in pain as his attack power decreased (Neos' ATK: 2500- 2200), but as Big seemed confused Yubel continued by stating "Oh, and there's more. As long as Flint is equipped to your monster it cannot attack nor defend, and in two turns your monster will instantly be destroyed." Big's confusion quickly turned to concern as he realized his next move might be his last since Yubel would risk attacking once more. The question was if he could draw the card he needed for victory. But, as he prepared to draw his final card, his hand hesistated.
"You can't do it, can you?" Yubel asked, a smirk appearing on her face before adding "You know that there isn't a single card in your entire deck that can defeat me. In the end, you know it's all over! You have lost!" Big looked at his deck and then to his trembling hands. His didn't know what he could do or if he could even win at this point. As far as he knew, there wasn't a single card in his deck and he didn't have any cards in his hand. At this point, Yubel finally stated "Go ahead, Big! Give up! Surrender the duel! Just like you failed to protect father before, so too have you failed once again. You are a failure as a son, as a duelist, and now you can't even protect either the people of this base or the people in our world. Face it, you have failed. " However, as Yubel started to laugh, she soon noticed Big's hands weren't trembling with fear as he rolled them into fists and now he was trembling with rage. Big soon looked up towards Yubel and said "Let me tell you something, Yubel! Since that day, I've grown up. I went from being a son to being a father. I went from being a hero duelist to actually being a hero. I've been given the chance to change so many people's lives and you know what? I might have failed to protect Dad, but I will not fail now and you are no one to judge, Yubel!"
At these words, Yubel growled in anger as she shouted "How dare you, Big! You are the one who has failed and yet you think you won't fair? Look at the field." Big glanced at what Yubel meant, as she explained "I have a monster in play that can not only destroy your monsters even if their ATK is higher, but your monster's ATK power gets taken out of your life points. Plus, with the power of the Seal of Orichalcos, when you lose the duel you lose your soul. Now look at your field." Big looked at Neos still trapped in Flint, as Yubel stated "Not only is Neos still trapped, but in 2 turns if I don't destroy him, the effects of Flint will. Remember, he's trapped and he can't either attack or defend himself. Plus, considering you have nothing set on your field nor do you have anything in your hand...all in all, you are screwed." Big sighed, understanding the situation, before stating "You're right, Yubel. Right now things look pretty bad, but still..." He stops before looking at his deck and stating "No matter what happens, I will never abandon the friends or family that I've made. No matter what happens, in the end I will protect the ones I love until the end." Big finally draws his card (Pot of Greed) and announces "I activate Pot of Greed, and with it I'll draw 2 cards."
Big draws two new cards and suddenly notices something something unusual about one of them (Rainbow Veil and Turbo Synchron). Big seems confused that one of his cards is a new monster card even he has never seen before. "What the...? Turbo Synchron? I've never seen this card before. In fact, I've never even known this card ever existed. So, what am I supposed to do with it? " Big blinked for a moment, thinking before remembering something from before:
(Flashback to Episode 20:
"And now, Big, let me be the first to introduce you to a style of dueling more advance then fusion itself!" The Dark King announced, as Big prepared himself! "I tune my 10-star Dark Destroyer with my 2-star Dark-Tuner Dark Priest!" The Dark King shouted, as the Dark Priest turned into 2 rings of pure darkness as they started circling around the Dark Destroyer! Big then noticed the Dark Destroyer turning transparent as it became 10 stars swirling around the 2 dark rings.
"When the curtains of darkness comes down, the eyes of the underworld will open! Swoop down, darkness! Dark Synchro! Show yourself, One-Hundred Eyes Dragon!"-Dark King
The 2 creatures fused together, as they soon created a dark dragon with dark wings attached to it's back and it's entire body covered with eyes (8-star/ 3000 ATK). Big could only look in awe as the creature roared and landed right behind the Dark King! "Holy crap!" Big told himself, as the Dark King snickered!
"So, that's Synchro?" Big asks, as the Dark King replies "What, this? No, this is Dark Synchro! It works in the opposite way as Synchro..."
End of Flashback)
"So let's see if I understand this correctly: If Dark Synchro summoning is the opposite of a regular Synchro, then it works like subtraction. So, if I want to do a regular Synchro, I need something that adds up to the level of a Synchro monster, but the only one I have is Stardust Dragon and it's an 8-star. So the only way is to use monsters that equal to 8 stars. Welll..." Big looked at the Turbo Synchron in his hand, and then at Neos who briefly looked at Big and told him "Big, if there is a way to obtain victory then do what you must! I understand the stakes in the duel, so please make your move." Big nodded and sighed, as he thought to himself "Ok, Neos. I'm sorry I have to do this, but if there is no other way then this is our last hope." Neos turned to Big and nodded, as Big finally said "From my hand I summon Turbo Synchron." Big finally played his new monster as it appeared. Yubel seemed purplexed by Big's new monster: A small, green, metallic robot with engine exaust fumes on his shoulders and headlights on his chest (1-star/ 100 ATK). "What is this? Is this some sort of joke?" Yubel asked as Big replied "Trust me, Yubel! You think I'm the same freak that gave up over a decade ago? We'll you're wrong. I grew up, and with it I've learned a few tricks that even you didn't seem coming." Yubel chuckled and said "Oh really? Big, I know of every card in your deck and took every chance to overtake you in this duel. True you learned a few tricks, but regardless of that you have nothing to counter with. Face it, Big. You have lost." In turn, Big narrowed his eyes and said "Yubel, there's something you don't know understand. No matter how bad things get..." And as Big said these words, Yubel noticed an unusual red and golden flare from Big's body as Big finally said "I WILL NEVER QUIT!" Finally, without either one noticing a strange mark appeared on Big's right wrist.
"And now, it's time to show you a few new tricks. I tune Turbo Synchron with E-Hero Neos!" The 2 monsters nodded, as Turbo Synchron suddenly disappeared and turned into a single green circle. Neos, in turn, jumps into the green circle and becomes a transparent being with seven starts showing at his center. By doing so, the Flint card that had entrapped him instantly exploded. "What is going on?" Yubel seemed purplexed, as Big took out the Stardust Dragon card from his vest pocket and told himself "This one's for you, Dad." And finally, the summoning began...
"Clustering wishes will become a new shining star! Become the path its light shines upon! Synchro Summon! Take flight, Stardust Dragon!"-Big
Soon enough, Neos and Turbo Synchron were gone, as a giant white and light blue dragon appeared and stretched out it's wings as it appeared right behind Big (8-star/ 2500 ATK). "Synchro what?" Yubel asked, as Big replied "Yubel, I told you before I learned some new tricks since I was younger, and this was only possible thanks to dad." Yubel only growled, as Stardust Dragon roared at Yubel and the Ultimate Nightmare.
Back at Shinji's duel...
As Shinji prepares to draw, they all felt the entire base shake as Asuka asked "What the hell is that?" From there they heard the scream of Stardust Dragon as Shinji suddenly noticed Slifer and Ra screaming in response to Stardust.
Back to Big...
"So what if you have a new monster, it still isn't powerful enough to stop the Ultimate Nightmare. " Yubel told Big, as the Ultimate Nightmare roared at Stardust Dragon. Big, however, said "Actually, Yubel, this is the end for you. I play the magic card, Rainbow Veil!" Big's new magic card suddenly appeared as he stated "And thanks to this card, by equipping it to a monster I control, that monster can attack and negate any effects it's opponents have. In other words..." Yubel suddenly seems horrified and says "I can't save myself." Big finally nods and says "Yubel, this is for me and dad." Stardust Dragon growls as the magic card creates a rainbow glow around the dragon. "Stardust Dragon, Shooting Sonic!" Big announced, as Stardust Dragon fired at the Ultimate Nightmare and destroyed it. Yubel screamed in pain before finally dissolving into nothing.
Yubel: 1500 - 0 LP (End of Duel)
Yubel and the Ultimate Nightmare soon disappeared as well as the unusual glow from Big. Stardust Dragon roared in victory before disappearing, as Big looked at the Stardust Dragon card on his duel disk and said "Dad...thank you!" Big soon saw the Yubel card on the floor as he walked up to it and saw a dark fiery aura from it as that aura slowly disappeared. "So, that explains why Yubel was more powerful than before." Big then picked up the card and told himself "Then again, that also explains why Yubel didn't agree to this duel on her own terms." Deciding to put the card away in his vest pocket, Big soon looked at the rather large creature inside Terminal Dogma, Lillith, before telling himself "Before I business in this world is done I really need to do something about that!" Big soon took off and flew upwards, breaking through the ceiling in the process.
Back to the 3 vs. 1 duel...
Meanwhile, Dark Marik snickered as Asuka asked "What's so funny? Is you losing so bad it's funny? Dark Marik continued to laugh until saying "Oh, that's not what's so funny! It's this!" Shinji, Asuka, and Rei suddenly were glowing gold and were thrown off the railing as Misato and Ritsuko suddenly managed to appear and grab them. "Misato!" Shinji exclaimed as Misato smiled. As the adults tried to pull them up, however, the Slifer card was suddenly pulled away from Shinji's duel disk and into Dark Marik's hands as he laughed and announced "This is it! With these cards I have everything I have! So say farewell to this world for I have..." Dark Marik suddenly heard the breaking of concrete as Big appears and asks "Where are you going?" Dark Marik growled and asked "What? You're still alive?" Big nods, as Dark Marik soon says "Either way it doesn't matter. I have the Egyptian God Cards so now I can achieve the ultimate plan! AHAHAHAHAHA!" Dark Marik laughed as he was just as quickly surrounded in darkness and then disappeared.
"What in the world happened?" Big asked, as by then the kids were pulled back on the railing. "He took the God Cards!" Shinji replied as they all knew the worst was yet to come.

Well, it took a long time to finally get a chance to work on this but I finally finished this episode. In all honestly, I apologise for how long it took to release this one but it took longer than I expected to get through writer's block.
Anyhoo, here's the plot for the next episode:
With the villians now in posession of the Egyptian God Cards, they begin their final phase to summoning the Great Leviathan. To stop them, Big and Shinji gather their allies together to invade their fortress before it's too late...

During either player's turn, when a card effect is activated that would destroy a card(s) on the field, you may tribute this card to negate the activation and destroy that card. At the end of the turn this effect is used (and is not negated), you can special summon this card from your graveyard.
