Authors Notes: Okay fair warning this one,
especially in the beginning is a bit vulgar in terms of words. This chapter is why I gave it a 'M' rating to begin with. There's a bit of swearing and I don't know exactly how to say it other than there are some very very mean words said and I really hope I don't upset anyone too much. If I do tell me what offended you and I'll try to change it to something a bit less aggressive. ~ Love Shatara
Disclaimer: I don't own any of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Characters. I do however own Crimson and the rival wolf
pack.
Sam's Point of View:
I could feel it. Crim was in pain. I knew time was almost up. It was almost time for him to give birth. I shared a
glance with Paul. He was pissed. I knew Seth was unharmed because I would feel it otherwise. I don't even know why
they took them in the first place. I 'was' going to find out though. We kept running towards the other pack. Edward
and Alice stayed where they were far enough away where they'd be unnoticed, but close enough to where they could get
here fast if their help was needed. Finally I could see them, they were a larger pack, with 7 members, but they were
all smaller and less experienced. The alpha was my opposite if you went colour wise. His fur was stark white in
colour. The second largest no undoubtedly his beta was a dark grey in colour. The rest were all a shade of either
brown while there was one who was almost blondish in colour.
'What are you doing in our territory?' The large white one asked.
'We've come to take back the two you took from us.' I said trying to remain polite.
'We didn't take anything from you.' the white one said remaining defiant.
'I know you have them. We followed their scent to here.' I said in no mood for lies. 'Either you give them back or
we'll take them back.'
'We have you outnumbered so you don't get to call the shots here. There's no way I'm giving back the source of that
smell. I can't wait for him to give birth so I can fuck him till he's pregnant again, and repeat the process again
and again and again.' the white wolf said with an evil grin.
My inner wolf's rage sprang forth I felt the growl rise in my throat getting louder and louder. My vision went red.
'Ooh looks like I hit a nerve. What's wrong? Don't like hearing about how I'd fuck him over and over and over?' He
said still smiling. 'Or what about the other. He sure looks like a good fuck. I'm pretty sure one of my boys here
would love to have a round with him.'
I heard Paul growling now too. This guy was looking for an excuse to fight. If it's a fight I have to go through to
make sure Crimson's okay I'll do it.
'You're head is mine.' I said before springing at him.
I noticed Paul go after the beta while Embry and Jacob went after the others. I knew we couldn't win this fight
alone.
'Edward help them out. Leave the white one alone though he's mine.' I thought noticing the look of confusion on my
foes face.
They were both there in an instant startling a few of the wolves. The other alpha and I were currently circling each
other.
'This is your last chance give them both back and we'll leave.' I said.
'Fuck you. We'll kill you all and then I'm going to kill the what's 'still' alive in that boy's body.' He said
snarling.
That was it. That was the last straw. I lunged at him, tackling him to the ground.I was going for his neck but I kept
biting his shoulder. He was moving around to much. I couldn't hear or see anything other than him. I was dead set on
killing him. He tossed each other around for a little while before he finally was able to bite me. He bit my leg and
wouldn't let go. I kept going for the neck, but now my paws were scratching at his face and body. His face quickly
turned into a bloody mess. He finally released and I saw a chance. I immediately took it. I had him by the throat and
I had him in a death grip. I bit tighter and tighter I felt him trying to get me away he clawed and kicked at my
chest, only resulting in scratches and maybe a broken bone or two. His struggling got weaker and weaker until finally
I felt him go limp. I jerked my head, snapping his neck, just to make sure. I released him as soon as I was sure he
was dead. I finally looked around and everyone was staring at me, already having killed theirs. I took a deep breath
and calmed down a bit.
'Are you okay Sam?' Jacob asked.
I took another deep breath, shivering while doing so, and exhaled.
'Yeah Jake I'm fine.' I said still trying to calm down.
I looked over at the dead alpha and noticed a lot more blood than I had previously saw. I finally
saw what I looked like in their eyes through their thoughts. I was covered in blood. Especially my
face, and paws.
'I'll be fine, most of it's not mine.' I said slightly irritated.
We all turned towards where the originally came from and followed Crim's scent as it was strongest right now. I guess
I never noticed it before he said anything, but damn Crim smelled fantastic. We kept going however and I put that
thought away for now. It didn't take long at all for us to find where they were staying. It was a cave and I could
smell Crimson inside. I entered first followed by Paul. The cave was pretty deep. There were eight total room. One
was the main room which we were standing in now. There were eight passages, that I could see right now, that
connected to another room all around us. I sniffed around a bit and instantly found where Crimson was. I ran into the
room and saw him asleep with Seth sitting there watching over him.
'Seth!' I heard Paul say before rushing over to him.
We were all still in our wolf form and my clothes were pretty much shredded anyway so I wasn't going to be shifting
back anytime soon. I looked over and Seth was hugging Paul despite of all the blood. I walked over to Crim who
immediately woke up and I saw the sheer terror in his eyes. I thought it was because I covered in blood.
"Sam." he said before wrapping his arms around my neck. "I'm so glad you're here."
'I wouldn't stay away for long. You know that. I love you too much.' I said nudging him.
So it isn't because I'm covered in blood that he was scared. It was probably because of how he was treated while he
was here.
'Are you okay? Did they hurt you?' I said worried.
Crimson hesitated a moment.
'What's wrong? What did they do?' I said getting angry.
"When I first woke up here Sam... I tried to fight them back so they wouldn't hurt Seth. I think his name was Kyle,
the alpha I guess, punched me... in my stomach. Sam... something just doesn't feel right. Somethings wrong." he said
tears running down his face.
I began growling again, but this time there wasn't anyone I could take my anger out on. I collapsed out of sheer
frustration. Why? Why us? I wrapped my body protectively around Crimson with my head in his lap.
'I'm so sorry Crimson.' I said crying. 'I'm so sorry.'
I don't remember the last time I cried. All I know right now is pain, and the fact I failed to protect
my imprint and now our children may all be dead, and it's all my fault.
"Is the alpha dead?" he asked.
'They're all dead. All of them.' I said tears still flowing from my eyes.
I felt Crimson run his hands through the fur on my head. If I wasn't so upset right now I would be
enjoying this.
"Can we leave now Sam... I don't want to stay here any longer."
'Of course. Edward. Will you help me get Crim on my back.'
I had to get over it for now, nothing I could do would change what has already happened.
"Sure." Edward said.
Edward moved over to us and Alice followed.
They both helped Crimson slowly stand and they gently put him on my back.
'Are you steady?' I asked Crim.
"Yeah. Just... be gentle... I'm sore." Crim said blushing slightly.
We set about at a slow pace, but every now and again I'd feel Crim wince and stop all together,
just for him to tell me to keep going and that he'd be fine. It took us a an entire day to get back to
where the Denali coven stays at at the pace we were going. When we finally did get there I smelt
more vampires than I had ever smelled in my life. These must be the people Carlisle, Esme, and
Jasper were rounding up. Which would mean Carlisle is back and he can check and see if the
babies are okay. I perked up a bit at that. Suddenly I heard Crimson gasp and through our imprint
I felt his pain for a moment. Something inside of him just kicked. So at least one of them is okay.
Mostly all of the vampires were outside wandering around. Carlisle, Esme, Jasper, Rosalie,
Emmett, Tanya, Kate, and Irina were all waiting for us. I heard Esme gasp, she was also holding
clothes as if she expected us to come back like this, and a sound of disgust, but I'm unsure from
whom it came from.
'Edward will you ask Carlisle to check on Crimson, I'm afraid something bad happened to the
children.'
"Carlisle. We need you to check out Crimson something bad happened." Edward said solemnly.
"Of course Emmett will you and Edward help me get Crimson inside." Carlisle said with a
worried look on his face.
After the got Crimson inside Esme brought over the clothes and we all went back into the woods
a little bit to change into our clothes.
'Strange... she knew my sizes.' I thought to myself.
I used the snow to clean some of the blood off my face. After I deemed myself ready I walked
back out and headed to check in with Crimson. I got some strange looks from a few of the
vampires but most of them seemed to not care. I found Crim upstairs laying on a bed with
Doctor Carlisle. The first thing I saw was the bruise on his stomach the next thing I noticed was
hands on my arms holding me back and the terrified look on Crim's face.
"Calm down Sam! Calm down!" I heard Paul say. "You need to calm down."
I took a few deep breaths and I calmed down. I calmly walked over to Crim who grabbed my hand as soon as it was
within reach.
I heard Carlisle sigh.
"I hate to be the one to tell you, but one of the heartbeats have stopped. One of the children died
from the impact of the punch, but from what I can feel is there are only two fetuses in your
stomach right now." he said, slowly explaining everything to us.
"So what does that mean? My body just absorbed..." Crim said before stopping himself.
"That's what I believe. There's also the process of birthing the children hat we need to discuss. From what it
looks like there really isn't a way the child can get out other than a C-section. There's a
possibility, depending on how fast you heal, if we can even do a C-section without it healing before we can get the
children out."
Crim's hands went up to his temples as if he was trying to rub away a headache.
"Will it be painful?" Crim asked.
"To be honest, I have no idea. You may feel some form of pain because you're part human, and you may not feel any
pain because you're part vampire. I'm just not sure." Carlisle responded.
Crim looked at me.
"Do you know how soon they'll be coming?"
"I'd say if your ready now, we can try."
Crimson sighed and bit his lower lip in deep thought. I grabbed his hand and held it in mine.
"Everything is going to be okay Crim. I'm not going to let anything happen here. I promise." I said staring him in
the eyes.
I had lost him once and it was the worst pain I'd been in my entire life. I was not about to let that happen again.
Crimson smiled at me.
"Okay, let's do it."
Before I could blink I was being pushed out of the room, by Alice, Rosalie and Bella.
"You need to wait out here. This won't be neat and we don't need you freaking out and going all wolfie, in such close
proximity to the person carrying your children." Bella said before shutting the door in my face.
Sighing I began to pace back and forth all the way to the end of the hall and all the way to the stairs. I was so
worried. So many thoughts were running through my head. I hadn't felt this useless, since the day before I first
changed. I had been waiting for two minutes and had decided to sit on one of the chairs close by when I heard
someone walking up the stairs. It was Paul.
"Nervous man?" he said sitting next to me.
"You have no idea. I don't like feeling this useless. I want to be in there with him, but I know it would be bad. If
I see him in pain I might accidentally react and... I just don't know Paul."
"It's an understandable fear, but we both know how strong Crim is. He'll pull through and everything will be fine."
"Unfortunately... we lost one of the babies. Although Dr. Carlisle said the third baby has utterly disappeared. He
chalks it up to the fact that since Crim is part vampire, his body sensed the threat of contamination and... got rid
of the threat in whatever way it happened."
"Ughh I swear I wish I could bring back that bitch and kill him myself." Paul said angrily.
I got back up and began pacing again. I did this sitting down and getting back up to pace about four more times,
before I heard the door open. By this time the entire pack had gathered.
Dr. Carlisle was the one who greeted us. He smiled directly at me.
"The operation was a success. You can come in now, but don't crowd. Preferably two at a time."
We all came in anyway, but everyone else made sure to stay a bit back. I noticed the bed Crim was in had been
adjusted to where he was sitting now. He had a blanket covering his belly which was no longer jutting out. I actually
watched as his skin underneath the blanket began to readjust to being not pregnant. He was holding two bundles in his
arms. One was wrapped in pink and the other was wrapped in blue.
He looked up at me before smiling as a tear ran down his face.
"It's Shayde and Memory. Come hold your kids Sam."
I smiled as well as I approached him slowly.
Bella approached as well. Although she got to him before I did. I was too scared to move much faster. She told me to
move my arms to a similar position as Crimson's. I did as she instructed. She placed the pink bundle in my arms
first, then the blue. I looked into their eyes. Memory has my light brown eyes, and Shayde has Crimson's white/blue
eyes.
The pack moved closer to look at our newest additions.
"They look so much like you two." Paul said.
"They're so adorable!" Seth said shaking Paul slightly gaining a small grunt from him.
I asked for them to leave, to give us a little time to get everything set straight.
I gave the babies back to Crim who took them while smiling. He told me to hang on to Shayde. He reached next to him
on this table and grabbed a bottle of milk that was already warm, which I hadn't noticed till now, and gave me one. I
sat down in the chair next to his bed and we fed them together. Today had been a perfect day. Nothing could go wrong
now.
