Alright, here's chapter two..
Also! I wanted to thank my reviewers from the past who have pointed out some of the errors I made from my previous writings. It helps me improve the story, and I love to hear things that I haven't included yet. I want to make the story as best as it can be!
"Si... she...ke..!"
'What..? Is someone speaking..? Everything hurts... Mom.. Dad..'
"...Bleed...ge...to...infirm..y!"
'It's so hard to tell what they're saying.. am I hearing angels..? What's going on... I wanna go home..'
A pounding like force came down upon my chest. Repetitive thumping motion. Before everything changed.
Water gushered from my mouth like a fountain, and I began to hack and cough, but I was kept pinned down onto the bed. My head was throbbing with a menacing pain, and my body ached in every imaginable spot. My clothes were stuck to my wet frame, and I wanted nothing more than to get home and be in my mother's loving arms. My brain didn't even register that I was alive; I was in a state of sheer panic. I felt my blouse be cut off of me, and I began to thrash around more, which irritated my wounds more, as if the sea water hadn't done that enough already. The skin around my wounds was a white color, due to the salt of the ocean seeping into my wounds. My blouse was gone, and I was exposed to a bunch of shadows of men who I had no idea who they were. Was I being sexually assaulted?
I didn't want to find out, and I thrashed my legs and arms around, screaming bloody murder.
"G-GET OFF! N-N-NO!" I frantically screamed, hoping to break away from those who were trying to pin me down on the bed. I felt a needle prick into my skin, and soon my muscles became too relaxed, and drowsiness hit me like a ton of bricks after whatever substance they injected into me began to kick in. Tears streamed down my flushed cheeks, body shaking from both fear and being extremely cold.
"N-No.. p-please..." I muttered weakly, before I passed out once more.
I don't know how much time had passed. But when I woke up I felt pain.
Pain. Fear. Cold. Exhaustion.
Things I thought I'd never have to feel in one go; I never would've dreamed I had to fight for my life from unknown figures. I didn't feel anything unusual waist down, so I was beginning to think they hadn't sexually assaulted me.. But I couldn't be relieved just yet. I needed to know what was happening to me, why I was taken into this room...
Speaking of the room, I decided that maybe it was a good idea to get a general understanding of my surroundings. The faintest whiff of a familiar scent I knew from home was present; it smelt like a doctor's office... I looked down to my body, seeing my blouse and bra were replaced by a sort of bandaged bra, along with other bandages around my wounds. I grimaced some at the pain it brought whenever I moved slightly, but I would have to bite the bullet and take it. My mom always taught me that if I was in an unfamiliar place, establish your dominance when you can, and be wary not to be cocky with it. Right now I was in an unknown doctor's office of some sort. It felt as if the whole room was gently swaying some.. but I didn't know if the swaying was real, or if I was beginning to hallucinate and become delusional.
"Sir, she's awake!" a younger man's voice startled me from my thoughts, and I quickly looked over to where it had come from. There was a young man standing beside the door, with an all too familiar outfit that I knew from my favorite anime. Was this some sort of sick joke planned by my friends..? Did they actually manage to save me from drowning..?! A feeling of hope began to blossom in my chest, and I attempted to sit up, but I failed horribly due to the growing pain it brought to move so much.
The door swung open to the room, and a larger and more gruff man came in, wearing the same attire the younger male wore, except his looked more of a captains attire... His heavy footsteps stopped beside my bed, and he looked down at me with a stern, fortified gaze.
"Miss, do you remember anything about yourself? Your name? Origins?" he asked, voice full of authority, having a deep tone to it that could easily scare someone.. It did slightly for me, but I managed to push down that fear and make direct eye contact with him as well. I closed my eyes some, before opening them after squeezing them shut in a pathetic attempt to stop some of the pain that my headache insisted on pounding into my skull.
"L-Lisanna..." I managed to mutter out. I didn't give him my last name, not wanting to give my full identity away to a complete stranger.. maybe even a cosplayer, considering the outfit he was wearing was exactly the one most captains in One Piece wore. "My n-name is Lisanna.." I cursed mentally as I stuttered. It wasn't from fear, but the fact that my whole body was shivering horribly from the coldness of the room, due to the fact I almost drowned. The thought of the ocean brought a new sense of fear to me, but I knew it wouldn't last; my undying love for adventure would overpower that fear, but it would definitely take some time to do so.
"Miss Lisanna, where are you from? A local island? Did you fall off of your boat or ship?" he asked me, placing a hand on the bed some. He didn't seem like he was trying to pose himself as a threat, since he certainly didn't see me as one. An injured and practically drowned girl with a potential small case of amnesia surely didn't seem like a threat.
"I-I.. I lived in a small port town... n-near the Pacific.." I replied.
The men suddenly got looks of concern and confusion, which I noticed and immediately became a bit alarmed.
"Miss.. what ocean do you speak of? There's nothing of the sort that we've ever heard of.." the captain spoke, sounding genuinely confused by my statement.
"I-I..! I was h-hit by a c-car, and then I f-fell into the Pacific!" I began to raise my voice. "T-This isn't some sort of joke! This isn't time to act in character and mess around! Which one of my friends put you up to this? Was i-it Daniel? Marissa? Liam?" my tone took a turn towards anger. I was positive that my friends had set this up. They took me to a room and had doctors dress as characters from One Piece just to make me feel better. Well it certainly wasn't working; I was in no mood for jokes right now, especially since I just survived a close death experience.
Still, they displayed looks of confusion, which made my anger turn into panic. They were absolutely and genuinely confused about what I was speaking about.
I heard the younger one mutter to himself "What's a car..?" and I really began to panic. Something was extremely off here, and I wasn't digging it at all. Before the captain could ask me anything else, I decided to ask him a question.
"Where are we right now?"
The captain blinked some, but cooperated with me and gave me his response, something I thought I would never, ever hear.
"We're currently on a Marine ship, sailing in the seas of the Grand Line."
I visibly paled, before I slipped into unconsciousness.
Done! Let me know what you guys think.
