Man, editing this story takes a lot of time.. Hueh, that's what I get for waiting so long to do so.
When I came to after passing out discovering my whereabouts, I touched the cool rag that had been placed on my forehead. I was feeling a bit under the weather, and my face must've been flushed, so the Marines were kind enough to put a cold rag on my forehead in an attempt to lower my temperature. At the moment I felt relatively fine, but I figured I should take it easy. The last thing I wanted was to spike up my potential fever once more. Now that I discovered I had been thrown into the world of my favorite anime, I knew that I should be on high alert for the smallest things.
'I wonder where the Straw Hats are.. maybe I won't even get to see them.. what if I'm just stuck in this world forever, living as a civilian in some sort of small town..? No, I'd rather be with a pirate crew, adventuring the seas! Or maybe a Marine..? I don't know...
Grumbling to myself, I slowly turned my gaze to the far right side of the room. The captain that I spoke to was currently giving orders to the younger Marines, but I couldn't decipher what the orders were. It seemed as if they were talking about something a bit on the important side.. I closed my eyes in an attempt to eavesdrop in on the conversation, drawing my attention to their words.
"..if that's truly the Straw Hat pirates, then we need to pursue them at once. Raise the sails and change our set course onto them; we can't lose them. Alert the other captains over the transponder snail, and have them set their course for the pirates as well. We know that they're shifty, and luck seems to be on their side with each encounter they have with our colleagues. Tell others to set course for around them; we'll trap them and close in before capturing those measly pirates. They won't escape the hammer of justice today."
"Yes Sir!" both of the lower ranked Marines saluted, before quickly setting off on alerting the other Marine ships in the area.
I opened my eyes, and the captain noticed that I finally regained consciousness. He walked over to the side of my cot, and locked gazes with me.
"How are you feeling Miss Lisanna?" his gruff voice rung in my ears.
"Fine, I guess.. just a bit feverish, but I guess that's to be expected if I have a fever or cold.." I replied, moving the blanket that was draped over me closer to my face, desiring the warmth it was bringing my body.
"You do have a fever, but with the amount of rest you've been getting I would safely assume that it's gone down some." he replied. We sat in silence for a few moments, before I decided to speak up.
"So.. do you have any questions for me..?" I asked, looking up at the grizzly man. "I'm sure that it wasn't your intentions to be picking up a castaway girl drifting in the ocean."
"Actually, at the moment I do not. The doctor said you could be potentially suffering a small case of amnesia, so there would be no point in asking questions you wouldn't be able to give an answer to. However, I take it you might have the slightest bit of questions for me?" he replied, his stern gaze remaining locked with my own.
"I see.." I paused for a moment. Maybe it would be best to ask a few questions before I found a way off of this ship. If I was going to be in the world of One Piece, I don't want to waste time on a ship where many of the things I want to do are restricted. "Well, who are you, first of all? i can obviously tell that you're a Marine, so I would appreciate if that wasn't the answer given to me.."
"I am Commander Hirujo. This is the second vessel of the Marine ship fleet Briggun patrolling these waters." he responded, helping himself to a stool that was by the desk in the room. I contemplated my next question, before it dawned on me. Maybe if there was an island nearby I could get off this ship! Surely they wouldn't want to waste any space on the ship, and a girl who's sick with potential amnesia (Not really, I can remember pretty much everything from my past life; they just don't understand the things I spoke about in the real world.), they'd surely would drop me off at the next island!
"Okay, Commander... is there uh, any island nearby that we are gonna stop at..? I think I might know these waters, and I could probably find my real home if I stop at it."
"We were designated on a trip to an uncharted island to see if there were any valuable supplies, but we've located a notorious pirate ship that's climbing to fame. We've switched routes, and now are undergoing a plan in order to capture them." he responded. "As much as we desired to search the island for any sort of useful supplies, we cannot let a chance like this slip by us."
"Pirates..? Were you able to identify who they were..?"
"Indeed. Their symbol is not able to be mistaken; a Jolly Roger with a straw hat resting atop the head. It's the Straw Hat pirates, and they are becoming a serious concern for the Navy." he responded.
"How come they're becoming a concern..? What have they done?" I had to play the idiotic girl. I couldn't let him know that I already knew who they were, what they were aiming for next, and where they'd be landing. I could be a crucial piece to the Navy if I sided with them; I knew where the majority of notorious pirates gaining fame were heading next. I could easily tell them where they'd be going, and I could end their adventure right there by them getting raided by the Marines. But I was better than that, I loved the pirates in the show. There was no way I could end their ambitions and dreams just like that.
"Ah, well.. They've risen up from nowhere, that's for sure. The most notorious thing they've done as of right now is that they've taken down Crocodile, a notorious Devil Fruit User. He was reigning over the country of Alabasta, but those pirates landed there and aided the country. Now that they have proven they're becoming stronger and a worthy opponent, we want to eliminate them as quick as possible."
I bit my lip some, and listened to him speak. I leaned my head back into the pillow, and sighed some.
"The Straw Hat pirates..." I said to myself.
"It would appear we're drawing closer to them. I must leave and begin battle preparations. They are not to be underestimated." he spoke, and rose to his feet. Giving me a farewell, he exited the room and headed for the deck to prepare to engage battle with them. Part of me longed to be able to be on their ship right now, looking at the Marines coming towards them and prep for battle. With Luffy, Zoro, Sanji... and the rest of them.. man, I really wish I could join them. But part of me knew I would be a burden for the crew; they had dreams and ambitions of their own, and what did I have to offer? I had no fighting skill at all, I haven't even picked up a weapon! And what would I even have as my own ambition? They wouldn't let me on the crew so willingly, and I know they most likely wouldn't trust me right away even if I did, especially Zoro. Which does suck some, considering he's one of my absolute favorite characters..
But I shouldn't even dwindle on something like this. I have a home back in the real world, a mother who must be wondering what happened to her daughter. I was the last family she had, and now I was gone. I sighed some.. Would she even think I was still alive? I don't know how long I've been missing at home; I don't know if the days are the same length here as they are in the real world. Now that I think about it.. I probably was considered dead in the real world.. there was no place for me to return to.. But I can't stay here. I can't interfere with the plot line of this world, I just can't. I sighed in defeat, feeling tears burning at my eyes.
"How am I gonna get home..?"
Done! I'm glad I type fast, because I'm sure things would take much longer if I wasn't able to do so.
