We Will Avenge Them

All I saw for miles was destruction. There were multiple craters around us, made by horrible attacks. The ground was tore up, and rolled like it were a blanket.

That wasn't even the worst because all around, in the craters too, were bodies. There were too many to count, and the thought of how many was too disturbing. The bodies around were of apes and dragons. Most apes and dragons had a symbol I'd seen inside the prison.

These are the good guys? I thought.

We awed at the horror and destruction around us. We didn't know they had attacked already, but they were nowhere near in sight now.

"They attack us and decimate us every time. Each attack has at least 5000 soldiers. The most we've ever gathered at once was 2500 of our own. Worst is that they say this is a terribly small number compared to their full army. They have said they will unleash them in 5 days," Hiali said.

"Five Days? I thought we had a week," Cyrus said.

"Maybe we were out cold much longer than we thought?" Spyro said.

I stared out again into the destruction. I knew they wanted everything gone, everything done for. They wanted pure death and destruction

And all the lives lost already. The thought of him coming over to our world and doing the same…

"We'll stop them," I said, "kill them all and avenge those lost."

Hiali nodded," Come, I will take you to the temple."

She flew into the sky.

We followed her, hoping to uncover more of our enemies' plans and stop them.

After an hour flight we reached a large mountain. It easily rose past the clouds.

Hiali flew straight up the tall mountain. We hesitated for a minute, but still followed.

We flew past the clouds and up and up. I couldn't see the top of the mountain yet, and I wondered just how high this mountain was.

Finally Hiali came to a halt. It was too fast however, and Ali bumped into her.

After recovering Hiali explained.

"There is an entrance only Guardians of the world can use," she said,"I can get us in."

She blew electricity into slot, and then placed her paw onto an imprint. She then blew electricity on her paw, and it sparked on her.

She winced a little, though we knew she wasn't in much pain.

The mountain shook and I thought something was wrong.

Then something truly amazing began to happen.

The mountain, the huge 7 mile high mountain, began to split. Rumbling began to happen all around us as we stared in awe as the mountain split up.

I couldn't believe any of this was possible.

"How… what?" I said.

I looked over to Spyro and he was as amazed and confused as I was.

The whole huge mountain finally finished splitting apart. In the center of it was a large structure made of marble and mud bricks.

It was the temple, well hidden inside a dangerous super-mountain. I couldn't believe its security. Or how they were able to build this the way it is.

Hiali smiled, "I still cannot believe it myself sometimes…"

She flew down over the temple. We stared at the incredible sight a little longer.

Finally we followed her into the temple.

It looked large on the outside, and was fairly large on the inside. It was very old however, and there were cracks in the walls, the paint now pale and barely recognizable.

Yet the temple still stood within the mountain. In fact, the mountain began to close on us as soon as we were all in.

We walked deep in the temple. It was lined with old drawings of dragons I didn't know about. They blew electricity and fire. Oddly there was no ice or earth breath.

After a few more minutes, the hallway expanded into a large dome room, much like the one at the temple in Warfang.

Hiali stopped in front of us. Ali made sure not to bump into her again.

"Okay, here I can show you the battles that have taken place. Focus on the vision pool and you will see," Hiali said.

The four of us walked up to the pool and looked into it. It took a minute but we began to see a small army against another that completely outnumbered them.

It was a total annihilation. Explosions erupted, blowing up the smaller force, while Anaheim began to dominate.

The smaller army had weak weapons, and the dragons used elements but they didn't last very long. The one-sided battle ended with of course the larger army winning with little casualties. They celebrated and then humiliated whatever corpse they saw, as if it were a game they always won.

By the end of the vision, I'd nearly unleashed an ice furry right in the temple. My body was subzeroing the temple's temperature. It was around 40 degreesand dropping.

"Dad! Calm down before you freeze us to death!" Ali said to me.

Slowly I relaxed and the temperature rose back up. Everyone stopped shivering.

"I see your element is ice. Well that may be of use when we fight against the Anaheim army," Hiali said.

"You plan to fight too?" Spyro said.

Hiali nodded, "I do. I don't want to see the citizens suffer more…"

We all looked at her this time, expecting her to tell us of the civilians' own troubles.

"The attacks were so bad, and the death toll reached the thousands. Now the city has been evacuated and the civilians are far underground. Luckily, they can't easily force large apes down in those narrow tunnels. Besides it'd be easier for us to kill the Anaheim apes like that, so they won't risk it," Hiali said.

"I understand. Now is there a training room? And a place to sleep?"- I said.

"No resting areas but a training room, yes," Hiali said, pointing to a door.

I walked over to it, "I want to try some techniques before next week."

Spyro, Cyrus, and Ali walked to the door as well.

"Let's train a couple more times before we save the world…s," Cyrus said.

We entered the training room and we didn't know what we would discover when we came out later that day.
