90210: The Final Season

Chapter 5: The Things We Do For Love

Navid walked nervously through the police station, it was the day of Liam's trial and he knew what he had to do. He hadn't wanted to believe Ade's story, Kat was his friend, but his denial was driving a wedge between him and Adrianna and he needed to fix that.

"Navid!" Kat said surprised, "I didn't expect to see you today." She hadn't seen him since Adrianna overheard that conversation. Navid's mind went blank, everything he had planned to say left him and he just stood in the doorway staring at her. After a moments awkward silence Kat decided to start their inevitable conversation. "I don't know how much Adrianna has told you-"

"She told me you lied to us, that you were helping to put Liam away," Navid interrupted. "Tell me she made a mistake," he begged.

"She didn't make a mistake," Kat said slowly. "But it wasn't that simple, Campbell gave me no choice. I did it for you."

"What does that even mean?" Navid shouted as he began to pace the room, "How could you do something like this? I thought we were friends!"

"Navid I am on your side-" Kat tried to explain herself but Navid didn't want to hear it.

"Don't try and make excuses Kat!" He said turning to face her, "I don't want you at the trial this afternoon."

Kat nodded as he turned to leave. "I'm really sorry Navid," Kat called after him. Her words made him pause but he didn't turn round, he couldn't.

Naomi sat in the waiting room of the doctors office, she was waiting to find out if she really was pregnant. She wished they would hurry up, if she was late for Liam's trial Annie would kill her. She had thought about asking Annie to come with her but she couldn't, not on the morning of the trial, it wouldn't be fair. She knew she couldn't tell Silver, after she lost her own baby finding out that Naomi, who didn't even want a child was pregnant would devastate her. Naomi felt terrified, if she was pregnant there was no way it could be Max's. How would he react when he found out she was carrying someone else's baby? How would Jordan react? Well, the news might just kill his mother she smiled to herself.

"Naomi Clark," A tall dark haired woman called. Naomi followed her into the room, she couldn't bare not knowing anymore. "We've got you test results back," the woman said as she sat down opposite Naomi.

"And am I?" Naomi asked.

"Yes," The woman said matter of factly, "Naomi you are pregnant." Naomi stared blankly at her unable to process her words do the doctor continued. "I'll book you in for another appointment in two weeks. This should give you time to tell the father."

Naomi just nodded, she stopped listening to the nurse she just felt numb. It wasn't till she could outside that it hit her, she was going to have a baby. Naomi Clark was going to have a child, and through her panic she felt a spark of excitement.

"Honestly Teddy I don't need you to wait here for me," Silver told her best friend when they walked into the hospital together. "I really appreciate you taking me and everything but I know it must be boring waiting around that long."

"That's what I'm here for," Teddy smiled. "And I'll be here as long as you need me."

"I really am grateful Teddy, but you don't have to stay in LA for me anymore. I've come to terms with the cancer and I have a lot of people supporting me." Silver struggled to find the right words, "It's just that if you want to go back to DC, I'm fine with that."

"Sounds like your trying to get rid of me." Teddy chuckled, he had suspected this talk would come, "Is this about Shane?"

"Yes," Silver admitted. "Look I know you two are fighting and I know it's because your here, and I'm the reason your here and I don't want to be the cause of any trouble between you two."

"If Shane loves me then he will understand that I need to be here with you and he will wait for me." Teddy said firmly but truthfully he wasn't so sure.

Silver knew he was only saying that for her benefit but she didn't know what else she could do. Frustrated she ran her fingers through her hair and felt it snag, she froze as she watched a clump of her hair fall to the floor. "No no," she muttered panicking.

"Silver are you ok?" Teddy asked but she just ran, this couldn't be happening. Not yet. As she hurried down the corridor she bumped into someone and found herself looking into Josh's dark brown eyes, she mumbled an apology before rushing into the girls bathroom. She stared at her reflection in the mirror and felt the patch where her hair had come from. This can't be happening she thought to herself as tears stung her eyes. She heard someone knock on the door and then push it open. It was Teddy and Josh.

"You can't be in here you know," she said watching them in the mirror.

"It's alright, I'm gay." Teddy joked, Silver didn't laugh.

"It grows back you know," Josh said smiling sympathetically at her.

"I'm sorry I'm being stupid," Silver said fighting back her tears. "I just wasn't ready for this."

"Your not being stupid, believe me I've been there. And you never know, like me you might be one of the lucky one who can pull it off." She laughed and he moved closer to her so they were both looking in the mirror. "You can't even tell there is any hair missing."

She looked at him and suddenly felt the urge to kiss him, but before she could act on it Teddy spoke, "We better get to you appointment Silver, if you're sure you're ok." She nodded at him.

Annie walked nervously into the court room with her closest friend surrounding her. Naomi found them all seats and Silver took Annie's hand as she lead her across the room and they both sat down. Dixon slipped into the seat next to her and took her other hand, they hadn't spoken in two weeks but she couldn't stay mad at him forever and right now she needed her brother. Adrianna, Navid, Teddy and Ivy all filed in behind them, Navid squeezed her shoulder. "He's going to be fine," Adrianna whispered. Annie turned to smile at them both but she couldn't speak, she hadn't even realised she was shaking.

Liam was lead by his officer into the court room, he didn't think he had ever been this nervous. He deliberately didn't look at his friends, because he knew she would be there, and he didn't know if he could hold it together if he saw her.

Watching Liam in handcuffs was torture for Annie, she willed him to look at her but he didn't. As the trial went on she barely heard a word, she couldn't concentrate on what was being said. She watched the jury's expressions but they were so hard to read, in the end she gave up and instead focused on Liam.

Each time the prosecutor spun some story against him Liam struggled to control his temper. When Campbell testified he had to curl his fingers into a fist to stop himself doing something he would definitely regret. When the jury at last left to decide his fate he was sure he was going to be convicted. Finally they returned and the decision had been made. He allowed himself to look into the crowd and his eyes found Annie's and he couldn't break her gaze. Only the shock when the judge announced "Not Guilty," caused him to look away.

Annie felt the relief flood over her and everything seemed to slow down. Her friend leapt up from there seats pulling her up with them, she felt someone hug her but she was unable to focus on anything but the man walking towards her.

Liam wasn't sure what to do or if he was allowed to just leave. As he headed towards his girlfriend he kept feeling like someone was going to snatch her away before he could reach her. He felt his friends clap him on the back but he couldn't stop until he had her in his arms.

Annie collapsed into him tired with joy, she had waited so long for him to hold her. She never wanted him to let go.

"Where are Annie and Liam?" Naomi demanded, "they were supposed to be here an hour ago."

"Naomi relax," Max laughed. "They are probably making up for all the time they've had apart."

"Well couldn't they have got that over with last night? I spent all week planning this party." She complained gesturing around the Offshore, "they could have canoodled all day if they wanted! Just show up to your own party on time."

"Woah! Can we not talk about my sister 'canoodling'!" Dixon exclaimed taking a seat next to Navid and Adrianna. He waved to Ivy and Teddy as they walked in but he stopped when he saw Silver following them with some guy who had his hand on the small of her back.

"Hi guys, this is Josh," Silver announced to their group. Whilst the other make an effort to chat to this new guy Dixon decided it was time to crack open the beer.

"So where are the happy couple?" Ivy asked, she had thought she was late.

"Not here." Naomi huffed taking a gulp of beer that Dixon had handed to her, but she remembered before swallowing and spat it back out into her cup hoping no one saw.

"Naomi what are you doing?" Max raised his eyebrows at her.

"Forgot I hate beer." She quickly covered her mistake.

Adrianna laughed but changed the subject, "I can't believe Liam is finally out of jail!"

"I know, especially after what Kat did." Navid replied and then leaned over and whispered just to her, "Sorry I didn't do anything about that sooner."

Adrianna smiled and kissed him to let him know he was forgiven.

"Really guys!" Teddy joked, but seeing them so happy made him miss Shane.

"Sorry," Adrianna apologised feeling a little embarrassed.

"I'm not!" Navid chuckled and Naomi checked her watch for the thousandth time.

"Come on get ready!" Annie said to Liam who was lying on their bed watching her get dressed, "We're already over an hour late, Naomi is going to kill us!"

"I think she can wait another half an hour," he said dragging himself off the bed to kiss her neck.

"No," Annie fought against her urges and pushed him away. "Now go put some clothes on." He pulled a face at her but did as he was told.

As they finally left the house Annie switched on her phone for the fist time since they got back from Liam's trial, she had a few missed calls from Naomi and three texts from an unknown number. She recognized it as the one that had kept calling before. She opened the first message and gasped, it was a photo of Liam as he left court.

"Are you alright?" Liam asked confused.

"I'm fine," she lied and quickly got into the car. She opened the other two messages and to find an image of Adrianna leaving the Offshore and Ivy surfing. Scared, Annie switched off her phone and slipped it into her bag, it had to be Patrick. He was probably just trying to scare her she told herself, but it was working.

"Finally!" Naomi exclaimed when they walked into the Offshore, which both Annie and Liam had to admit looked amazing.

"Sorry we're late," Annie apologized hugging her friend.

"It's fine," Max quickly answered for Naomi who shot him a glare. Teddy poured them all a glass of champagne and Dixon made a toast but Annie couldn't stop thinking about those messages. They all raised their glasses and took a sip, Naomi included. Again she spat it back into her glass, frustrated at herself for making the same mistake twice.

"Don't tell me you don't like champagne either!" Josh laughed, Dixon glared at him, he hated that Silver had brought some guy to the party and that he had his arm around her waist.

Naomi struggled to think up another excuse and glanced at Annie who immediately clocked the situation, "Naomi's on this ridiculous no alcohol detox diet thing." She lied forgetting all about the creepy texts and rescuing her pregnant best friend.

Adrianna and Navid sat together talking in the corner of the Offshore for the majority of the night. "I think I'm going to head home soon babe I'm really tired," Ade yawned.

"Do you want be to drive you?" Navid offered stroking her hair.

"No it's ok, I think a walk would do me good." It really wasn't very far and she knew Navid wasn't ready to leave yet.

"Are you sure?" Navid asked glancing at her injured leg.

"Yes I'm sure!" She smiled kissing him. She said goodbye to her friends and left. She felt quite proud as she walked across the road, she barely even needed he crutches anymore. Distracted she didn't even notice the two hooded men hurrying after her until she felt someone grab her arm. She dropped her crutch surprised and turned to face whoever it was but he kicked her injured leg and it gave way beneath her. She tried to get up but someone held her down and the first man kicked her again, she felt a searing pain in her side. She cried out in pain but they didn't stop. She squeezed her eyes shut and tried to scream but no sound would come out.

Suddenly she heard shouting and the blows stopped. "Ade! Oh my god Ade are you ok?"

Her vision cleared and she started to make sense of the situation. "Ivy?"

"Oh my god Ade!" Ivy repeated, "I'll call and ambulance."

Adrianna nodded, "Please don't tell Navid." Was all she could mutter.

"Hey," Silver approached Dixon cautiously, she didn't know what to expect from him anymore.

"Hi Silver." He said, his arms folded across his chest defensively.

"So it looks like Annie forgave you," she tried.

"Yeah I guess you were right." He said glancing at his sister dancing with his best friend and he couldn't help but smile.

"Well it doesn't look like Liam used all his time in jail to practise his dance moves," Silver smiled.

Dixon laughed but felt annoyed with himself for doing so, "So where's your boyfriend gone? Jason was it?"

"Josh." She corrected him, "And he's not my boyfriend, he's just a friend I met at the hospital, he has an early appointment tomorrow so he's gone home."

"Hmm, I just thought you had better taste than that." He knew he was being petty but he couldn't help himself, "I mean he seems like a bit of a douche."

"Well he's actually a really nice guy and if you had make the effort to talk to him, or me, this evening then you would know that." She snapped back.

"You didn't exactly try and talk to me, not until Jack left and you had no one else." He struggled to keep his voice low.

"No, I came over here to try and get my friend back because I really need him right now! But apparently he isn't here." She ignored the fact that he got Josh's name wrong again and stormed off leaving Dixon feeling incredibly guilty.

The morning after Ivy headed down to the beach, she had taken Ade to the hospital and then to her mothers. Adrianna has insisted that Ivy go home to get some rest as she had been up most of the night with her. Ivy knew she would never get the image of her friend lying on the ground out of her head long enough for sleep so surfing seemed the best distraction. She stopped for a burger purely so she could throw it up again, she knew she shouldn't but it helped her cope with all the stress and it had become a routine she couldn't break.

Once she reached the beach she changed into her wetsuit, the waves looked great for surfing but it was too early for lots of people to be out there yet. She grabbed her board out her jeep and ran down the beach.

She stayed out there for hours but after a while more people started to hit the beach and it was becoming harder and harder to catch a good wave without being cut off of cutting someone else off so she decided to call it a day.

"Hey!" Someone called to her as she walked up the beach, her wetsuit pulled down around her waist.

Ivy turned to see a man who looked about 30 hurrying after her, "Can I help you?"

"Hi! Sorry, but I was just watching you surf and I wanted to say, you're really good!" Ivy didn't want to be rude but she wasn't in the mood for this so she just gave him a nod and muttered thanks.

"Wait!" He said as she started to turn away, "I want to know if you are interested in making a career out of it?"

"I really have to be somewhere," she replied thinking of Ade.

"Well just let me know." The man said handing her a business card. She read it twice and then stared at it for a few minutes, she looked at him but he was already half way up the beach. She watched him go and then looked at the card in her hands. It can't be real she thought as she read it again,
'Mr James.
Head Coach.
California women's surf team.'

"You'll never guess what I've just heard!" Dixon announced as he walked across the Offshore to where is three best mates Liam, Navid and Teddy were sat. About a dozen jokes popped into each boys head but Dixon didn't give them the chance, "One of Campbell's guys have been arrested."

"Seriously?!" Navid said surprised they had done anything so quickly after Liam was released.

"Yeah! They were finally allowed to analyse the site and it turns out it was a gas explosion." Dixon explained, "Some how Campbell and his Cronos pals managed to get a camp stove in, it's on the CCTV."

"Do you think they'll get Campbell too?" Teddy asked hopefully.

"I doubt it," Liam replied. "Campbell will be more than happy to let his friend take the wrap."

"Well at least your name is clear." Teddy said passing them each a beer. They all agreed but both Liam and Navid couldn't help wish that there was a way to get Campbell too.

"Hey guys," Ivy said entering the bar about half an hour later and helping herself to a sip of Dixon's beer, "I've got some news."

"If it's about the arrest we already heard." Dixon said grabbing his beer back off her.

"What arrest?" Ivy asked confused, "No, I just got scouted for the California surf team!"

"Ivy that's awesome!" Navid smiled whilst Dixon hugged her. "You've only been back a month! Seriously you've put us to shame."

Liam grinned and handed her a beer, "It think you deserve one of these."

"I'm so proud of you," Teddy smiled feeling pretty pleased with himself for helping her get back in the water.

"Dude stop checking your phone every five minutes!" Liam smirked at Navid, "Adrianna hasn't texted since last night." He informed Ivy, she froze.

"Like you can talk! You've been grumpy all morning because my sister decided to spend the day with Naomi." Dixon scoffed.

"I drove Ade to her mom's this morning," Ivy lied. "She said she couldn't get hold of you."
