90210: The Final Season
Chapter 6: The Games We Play
Previously: Ivy struggled to control her bulimia but things looked more hopeful when she was scouted for the California surf squad. Dixon's struggling for money and his friendship with Silver is on the rocks. Annie received threatening messages and Liam finally made it out of jail. Naomi and Max are actually happy but her pregnancy with ex Jordan could be about to change things. Adrianna was attacked, but why does she need to hide it from Navid? And Teddy's return to Beverly Hills caused a strain on his relationship with Shane.
"Naomi you're starting to freak me out," Max said watching his girlfriend as she paced around her living room.
"I'm sorry," Naomi knew she must look like a crazy person , she had dragged Max down here half an hour ago and she still hadn't found the right words to tell him about the pregnancy.
"Naomi sit down," Max wet his lips, her pacing was driving him mad. "Now just say whatever it is you need to say."
She sat down next to him on the sofa and took a deep breath, "I'm pregnant."
Max didn't move, he was frozen to the spot, he couldn't think straight, he wasn't ready to have a baby. He felt panicked and looked for an exit but instead his eyes found his girlfriends face, her features etched with concern and he knew she needed him. "That's great. I mean yeah it's unexpected, but it's great."
"Really?" Naomi questioned, "When we had that pregnancy scare before you completely freaked out."
"Naomi that was over two years ago." Max reassured her, "We've been through so much together since then, we're been married, and divorced. Believe me, we can get through this together as well."
She practically lunged at him, pulling him into a tight hug. "I love you Max Miller." She said plonking a big kiss in his lips.
"I love you too!" Max laughed, "I can't believe I'm going to be a dad!"
Naomi backed off, "Uh huh," she nodded. Realizing for the first time that she had failed to mention that he wasn't the father, but she couldn't tell him now. She just couldn't.
Navid jumped as he heard the sound of a car horn behind him. He knew it had been his fault, he was completely distracted thinking about what he should say to Adrianna when he reached her mom's house. It had been a week since he had last seen her at Liam and Annie's party and she had only sent a few texts in that time.
Her mother Answered the door when he knocked, "Hi Navid."
"Hey Constance, can I please see Ade," He asked politely but he had no intention of leaving if she refused him.
"Come in, Adrianna is just in her room you can go straight up."
It felt strange being in Ade's old room again, there were too many memories here. "Navid!" Ade sounded surprised to see him. Still wearing her purple dressing gown she quickly got off her bed hiding the pain the movement caused her. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm here to see you." He said anger rising in his voice, but he could help but feel concerned at how tired she looked, "I came to find out why you just took off to your mom's without telling me and why you've been ignoring my calls."
"I just wanted to see my mom, living at Naomi's means I hardly ever get to see her," She tried to sound as relaxed as possible.
"Ok so why not tell me?" He demanded.
Crap, she thought to herself she couldn't tell him the truth. He'd go mad, he'd make her tell the police and then everyone would know. Plus if she ever found out who attacked her she didn't know what he'd do to them. Nope, she couldn't risk it. "Navid I just wanted some space," She lied.
"Space?" He repeated, "from me?" She nodded, "for how long?"
"I don't know," she said in almost a whisper.
"Fine. You take all the 'space' you need." He couldn't believe it, after everything they had been through. He slammed her door and stormed past Constance who watched him go.
"Where are you off to?" Liam laughed as his fiancé frantically pulled on her jumper and reached for her hand bag.
"To Ade's." Annie replied whist searching for her keys, "Silver just text me, she's seen Navid and he said Ade's dumped him and runoff to her mom's."
"What! Are you sure?" He called after her but she was already out the door.
"Whoa where's Annie going, she barely even noticed me walk past!" Teddy laughed as he let himself into their house.
"Apparently Ade has broken up with Navid," Liam said shaking his head unable to believe it himself.
"Seriously? Poor Navid," Teddy was just as shocked, although he was sure that they would be back together by the end of the week.
"I know I thought they were like the perfect couple. Weren't they house hunting?"
"Yeah, but she left a week ago to see go to her mom's and was ignoring his calls," Teddy remembered the awful mood his friend had been in the past few days.
"Wow. Anyway how are you man? I've hardly seen anyone recently, I've been so busy with all this wedding stuff." Liam said gesturing to the wedding magazines that were scattered across the table.
Teddy laughed, "Has Annie gone all Bridezilla on you yet?"
"No she's actually been surprisingly chilled," Liam admitted. "It's our wedding planner that's driving me mad!"
"Yeah Naomi gets a little crazy doesn't she!" Teddy smirked, "So now your both staying in the country what's the plan?"
"Well I'm not supposed to say anything but there's talk of Annie's book being made into a film."
"and what about you?" Teddy pressed, "don't fancy the part of Leo?"
"Ha, very funny." Liam smiled, "I was thinking about getting my surfing company going again."
"Yeah maybe you could make the boards for Ivy's new team." Teddy suggested. Liam looked at him, he wondered why he hadn't thought of that.
Dixon wandered aimlessly down the road, he wanted to call Silver, he had wanted to call her all week but he couldn't bring himself to pick up the phone. He didn't know what to say, he couldn't tell her how he really felt, he couldn't tell he loved her, not while she was off with this Josh guy. He felt like such an ass, he should have told her before. I should get her something, to say I'm sorry. Then he remembered he couldn't even afford to do that anymore.
He hadn't even paid this months rent yet and he knew that Ivy had paid a few bills behind his back. After losing the record label he had nothing, he didn't know what to do anymore. All he had ever wanted to do was work in the music industry and he had blown it. No wonder Silver prefers Josh. God he couldn't stop thinking about her. Even if he did fix things between him there was no way she'd want to be with some broke unemployed loser.
He felt as if he was falling, and there was no was out. Then he noticed a small building across the road, the sign above it read 'Sports bets'. He faulted outside for a moment but he had made his decision. He walked through the door and felt that familiar rush.
"Ade what happened?" Annie asked as she pulled her sobbing friend into a tight hug.
"Don't cry babe," Silver said handing them each a cup of tea.
"Navid came to see me earlier," Adrianna told them what had happened that morning.
"He thinks you've broken up with him," Silver told her, "Why do you all of a sudden need space."
"I just felt like things were moving too fast," Adrianna lied.
"But you acted so happy," Annie didn't understand. "I can tell your hiding something Ade. Come on it's us, you can tell us anything."
"Fine," Ade cracked, she couldn't lie anymore. "On the night of your engagement party, I was attacked. By two men." She couldn't look at her friends but she felt Annie's hand on hers. "Ivy stopped them, I don't know what they would have done if she hadn't been there. She took me to hospital and then I asked her to take me here."
"Ivy knew." Was all Silver could manage to say.
"Yes but I made her swear not to tell anyone." Adrianna defended her friend.
Annie gripped Adrianna's hand tighter as she showed her the bruise that stretched across her stomach and up her side. This is my fault Annie thought to herself, those texts, they were threats. She felt sick to her stomach, Ivy and Liam could be in trouble too.
"But why can't you tell Navid?" Silver asked.
"Because he'd go after these guys, he'd get himself killed." Adrianna started to get worked up again. "He'd make me go to the police."
"Maybe you should go to the police," Silver pointed out.
"I can't," Adrianna sobbed, "You can't tell anyone."
"We won't." Annie promised. "But you have to tell Navid, if you don't know who attacked you than he can't go after them, you have to tell him or you'll lose him."
"I know." Adrianna admitted, "but I'm not ready to yet."
Just breath, Ivy told herself as she changed into her wet suit, it was her first proper training session with her surf team and she couldn't seem to shake the nerves. I can do this. But what if she wasn't good enough? what if they decided they didn't want her anymore? These questions swam around her head making her feel dizzy.
She searched the kitchen cupboards for something to binge on, a part of her knew she shouldn't but she couldn't control it. It had just become part of her natural routine, like a reflex. Ivy hated herself, she flushed the sick down the toilet but this time it hadn't calmed her nerves. If anything she felt worse.
I can't do this, I can't. She knew skipping her first training session would look bad but she didn't the coach would even keep her on. And why should he? She wasn't good enough. She wasn't good enough for Diego and wouldn't be good enough for team.
But this time she wouldn't let herself get hurt, this time she knew it was going to happen. Missing her first session would mean they left her sooner, so it would be easier that way. She pulled off her wet suit and let the tears stream off her cheeks and quickly changed into her pajamas. It was the middle of the day but she didn't care. She climbed into her bed and pulled the sheets up above her head to block out the rest of the world.
"So how have you been?" Silver asked Josh as she made them both a cup of coffee, "I've not seen you at the hospital recently."
"I know I actually finished my chemo the other day so I've not been in." Josh said taking his coffee as she said down next to him.
"Seriously! Why didn't you tell me?" Silver exclaimed, "That's fantastic news."
"Yeah well I don't get my test back till next week so I was going to tell people then if I get the all clear." He said clearly uncomfortable with the fuss she was making over it, "so what have you been up to?"
"Not much really, It feels like I've spent every waking hour at the hospital," she laughed.
"Yeah I know how that feels." He smiled at her.
"Although I did go and see Ade this morning," she informed him.
Josh shifted uncomfortably, "Yeah? How's she?"
Silver didn't want to say to much, but she needed someone to talk to, "She's going through some really difficult stuff at the moment. I want to help her but I don't know how."
"Just be there for her, that's all you can do," he said wrapping his arm around her. "Don't forget your going through some difficult stuff too."
Silver didn't know how to react to his touch, it didn't quite feel right, not like when Dixon held her. Damn it, I shouldn't be thinking about Dixon, I tried to make things right but he didn't want to hear it. If he wanted to be with me then he would have at least called by now. It's his turn to come to me. So in an effort to banish all thoughts of Dixon from her head she closed the small distance between her and Josh and kissed him.
"What do you mean he thinks the baby is his?" Annie demanded when Naomi finished explaining what had happened this morning.
"I know this is bad," Naomi replied looking desperately at her friend. "Annie what am I supposed to do?"
"You have to tell him!"
"I can't! He was so excited about being a dad, and Max would make such a good dad." Naomi whined, "It would destroy him if he found out it wasn't his."
"Naomi." Annie sighed, "You can't tell your boyfriend you are carrying their child when your not."
"I never actually said that," Naomi hissed. "I just forgot to mention that it wasn't his."
"How can you forget something like that?"
Annie started to laugh. Naomi looked at her and they both burst into an uncontrolable fit of giggles. They collapse onto Naomi's bed and lay side by side until they had both managed to stop laughing. "You know you have to to tell Max right?" Annie said sitting up.
"Yeah I know," Naomi was already dreading that conversation.
"And you have to tell Jordan too," Annie reminded her and she made a face. "He deserves to know he's having a kid."
"Ugh!" Naomi groaned, this was not going to be fun.
A frustrated Dixon let himself into his house, he couldn't believe he had gambled. He felt like such an idiot. Annie was going freak out. He had lost £200, he didn't even have that to lose in the first place. He was going to have to ask his sister for more money and she was going to kill him.
He sighed and plopped down on the sofa pressing the answer machine button at the same time, secretly hopeing for a message from silver. There was only one message, and that was for Ivy. It was from her coach wanting to know why she had missed training. Why would she miss her first one? She had been looking forward to it.
"Ivy!" He called out, but she didn't respond, but he could smell the sick when he went in the bathroom so he knocked on her door. "Ivy are you ok?"
"I'm fine." She called back, he opened the door to find her curled up in bed. "I'm just not feeling to well."
"Alright, your coach called wanting to know why you weren't at training today." He told her, "He sounded pretty pissed off."
"Well clearly I wasn't feeling well." Ivy said as she got up and walked into the bathroom.
"Are you sure that's all it is?" Dixon asked, he could see the redness in her eyes from crying.
"What else would it be?" She snapped at him and slammed the bathroom door.
Fed up with his room mates weird mood swings Dixon went into the kitchen. He opened up the cupboard looking for some kind of unhealthy snack, but instead all that was left was an empty packet of biscuits. Great he thought, now she's eating all my food. He opened another cubord but only found another load of empty packets. He had only bought these a few day ago he thought as he inspected the packaging. He glanced at the bathroom door, she couldn't be doing what he thought could she? No, Ivy would never do that to herself.
Navid raked his hand through his hair, repeating the whole of his conversation with Ade in his head over and over again. Why? Why would she do this to me? I thought she loved me. Frustrated he kicked his bed side table, he winced at the pain when his foot connected with the wood. However the physical pain was definitely a lot easier to cope with so he kicked it again. This time the lamp fell off and smashed on the floor, cursing he did his best to clear up the mess it left.
He sighed and sat down on his bed, he just wanted to forget about it all. He pulled a crate of beer out from under his bed which Liam had left and opened one.
An hour later he had almost finished polished off the whole crate. He heard his door bell ring and answered it. He was shocked to see Kat there but thanks to the amount of alcohol he had consumed he was struggling to care that she was here.
"Before you slam the door in my face, I came to say I'm sorry. I want to explain." She told him.
"Come in," he said.
"I need you to know to I never wanted to hurt you or your friend. Campbell threatened me, he said he would drag you into it too. I did what I did to protect you." Kat tried to explain, "I know I should never of let him get to me. I'm sorry."
Navid could barely even concentrate on what she was saying. "It's ok Kat, you are forgiven," He said slurring slightly.
"Are you drunk?" She asked, she could smell it on his breath.
"Adrianna dumped me." He told her. To Kat this was great news, finally the man she loved was free to love her back.
She moved closer to him, "Well Adrianna is an idiot. Because you Navid Shirazi are a catch." He smiled and she closed the distance between them placing a kiss on his lips. A drunk Navid moved in for more and she happy obliged deepening the kiss and sliding her tongue into his mouth.
