A/N- I'm really really really sorry! I was trying to update, but my family and I kept taking trips to places and I couldn't update anything because there was no WiFi anywhere! . eh...here! (Gives everyone a cupcake) hope it helps you forgive me! So...onto the story I guess!

Mikayla's POV

I slowly leaned up in my spot on the small bed. Kelsi and I shared a room at penny's house and we plan to for awhile longer. "Kelsi, wake up..." I shook her lightly only for her to turn over in response. Sleepily, I slowly started to push her off of the bed, with just enough force...

She completely fell off with a slight scream of terror.

"Mikki! What was that for?" She screeched. I smirked.

"Time to get up." I explained. She groaned but got up anyway. We walked down the stairs slowly, just in time to catch penny about to leave for school. Without a word, we followed her outside.

"Woah Woah Woah, why are you following me to school? You two aren't enrolled there anymore ya know." She explained. I nodded. "Yeah but we can't just sit at your house all day, we'll be bored. Plus, they allow people to help out at school right?" I smiled. She smiled back.

"They only let enrolled students help out...but you won't seem to leave me alone so..." She giggled and let us follow her all the way to our old school.

We all walked into the old classroom and as soon as everyone saw me and Kelsi they ran up to us and squeezed us really tight!

"Please! Guys! We can't breathe!" We chimed in unison.

They all let us go soon and asked where we were and how it went and why we were back.

I saw Kelsi's eyes drift off, looking around the classroom.

'Please don't tell me she's looking for...HIM.' I thought with a scowl. I then spotted him before she did. Kei. Ugh, even his name pisses me off. He saw us too and got up to start walking toward us. I quickly grabbed Kelsi's arm and led her out of the classroom before he could get to us.

And it worked...until he followed us out of the class and grabbed Kelsi's other arm.

I glared at him as he looked her over. I swear I'll back hand this psycho if he hurts her again. "Kelsi..." He said quietly. She only stared at him and pulled her arm away sharply and walked away with me to the library as we left him standing there, him looking confused.

"He's such an idiot...he doesn't even know why we're mad at him." I sighed. Kelsi looked down.

"I...I think I..." She started, a solemn look on her face.

"OH LAWD, YOU LOVE HIM DON'T YOU!?" I shouted, not meaning to.

"What? No! I think I hate him!" She declared. Well, that sure surprised me. Believe it or not, Kelsi has never hated anyone...ever. I looked ahead of us, with a meaningful look on my face. "Okay." I said.

We walked into the library and over to the librarian's desk. "Mikayla! Kelsi! You both are-a back! How nice!" She smiled. Ms. Vargas cheered.

Ms. Vargas is an Italian old woman who used to babysit Kelsi and I when we were little. She played with us and taught us things like ABC's and the language of Italian. We like to call her 'mommy Vargas' sometimes because she's the perfect motherly figure, but really only Kelsi calls her that anymore. Now, she works as a librarian at the school. She's always nice to us and she always told us stories of how she and her twin sister were just like me and Kelsi when they were young.

She adjusted the glasses on her little chain and smiled wider. "How would you girls like-a me to tell you a story about my days with my sister María?" She asked through her thick accent. We both nodded and took some seats.

She cleared her throat and began. "Okay, this story may not be as happy and cheery as the other ones, but it has a good moral to it. María and I were always together like you two are now. We used to sing and laugh and draw pretty pictures together, our favorite things to do. One day, we sat on the stairs of our small house and overheard mama and papa arguing about something. Papa had a special friend, Paula and mama of course hated this. So papa left with Paula forever and after a while mama couldn't handle being alone and taking care of us by herself and killed herself."

Kelsi started to sniffle as Ms. Vargas continued.

"Not being able to live alone, María and I were sent to an orphanage. It seemed that no one wanted to adopt us since we were such troublesome children. María was always the nicer twin so instinctively, a nice married couple adopted her only. It was heartbreaking and the staff at the orphanage forbid her to stay with me saying things like 'when they're together, they cause too much trouble. If this couple only wants to adopt one of them, we shouldn't spring the other on them too.' I cried night after night, until that same couple came back weeks later and claimed that María wouldn't eat, sleep, or talk and missed her sister. They adopted me, and I was united with my sister once again. It was one of the happiest moments of my young life. María and I grew fast and when we became 19, we moved to New York. Something went wrong though. One night, while she was driving back home, she didn't pay enough attention to the road and got hit by another car. She did get to the hospital...but she had brutal injuries, so she soon died after that... I went into a deep depression for awhile but... Now I work here and it keeps an old woman like me busy." She finished, picking up a tissue and blowing her nose a bit.

"That's such a sad story." Kelsi sobbed.

"But...what's the moral?" I asked, hugging Kelsi to comfort her.

"Don't you ever abandon your sister. Be sure to protect each other always and try not to argue because a sister is the best gift that god could ever give you. Remember that girls." She answered.

"Mommy Vargas, you're so smart." Kelsi and I said in unison. We all then laughed at ourselves. The bell suddenly rung.

"Oh. I didn't a-realize the time. Would you girls like me to make you something for lunch?" She asked. "Since you girls don't have classes and my work day is over now, let's-a go to my house." She smiled. We both agreed and drove to her house.

I was surprised at how much it's changed! When she babysat us here, it was a small little cottage, but now, it looked almost like a mansion! When we got inside, I was even more amazed! Two levels, five bedrooms, two bathrooms, a small dining room, there was also a small kitchen, a living room designed with a little bookshelf, pictures, a little couch and a T.V. not too far from it. Almost like a barbie dream house, but in old lady style.

"Ms. Vargas! How you get your house like this?!" Kelsi asked. "Oh, I had my Uncle build it up years ago. I said 'don't do too much' and he did not listen, but I guess it's alright." Ms. Vargas explained.

I set down my bag and sat on the couch.

"Ms. Vargas, would you like some help?" Kelsi asked, also setting her bag down.

"No, no. I may be an old woman but I am going to make your favorite Italian lunch, 'Mama's famous Fettuccini' but for dessert you girls can help me make gelato, like we used to when you were younger." She said. "You girls can go watch some television if you'd like." She smiled once again before leaving me and Kelsi in the living room while she went to work in the kitchen.

Kelsi grabbed the remote before I could and changed it to the sprout channel. D:

She clapped and cheered when Angelina, who is apparently a ballerina, finished her first concert.

She may be cute, but she's so immature, I thought with an amused smile. "Sis! Look! They're gonna have a talent show! But...Angelina doesn't know what to do..."

The phone then rang. "Could one of you girls get that?" Ms. Vargas asked from the kitchen.

I picked up the phone and Kelsi nosily listened in too.

"Hello?"

"...Mikayla!? Is that you?! You had better have a good excuse for this young lady!" I froze. That voice...

"Uhm...hi, Michi..." I said.

"Don't 'hi' me! Why are you two in California, at Ms. Vargas' house instead of in Japan with the host club!? Explain!" Michi snapped.

"Well...we wanted to pay a visit?"

"Well, your visit is over! I'm here in California, with the host club, some other kids, and Mrs. Hitachiin, driving fast, and EXTREMELY furious." She growled, emphasizing extremely.

I gulped. "We're just down the street. We'll be there in a few minutes!" She yelled. I heard some tires screeching. "Hey dumbass! Don't honk your horn at me! Go faster!" I heard her say to another car.

The phone then clicked, meaning she hung up.

I turned to Kelsi. "We're dead." I told her.

No, Michi doesn't hit us or anything like that, but when she yells at someone, she has to be really mad. When she yells, it could make an insane masked murderer back down in fear and have nightmares for a year.

And I especially didn't want those hosts there to see us get yelled at.

"Girls! Food is ready!" Ms. Vargas stepped out of the kitchen.

"Eh? What's wrong? You look like your [1]gatto has just died." She said, setting down a tray of food for us. "Oh, well, you see...Kelsi and I originally weren't supposed to come here...we may have, possibly..." I mumbled.

"Well? Spit it out, dear." Ms. Vargas encouraged.

"We kind of ran away from Japan and took a flight here, and now Michi knows where we are and she's coming over to take us home now. She's also bringing some other people-" I told her.

"Oh. I see...then I suppose I should cook some more food then," she interrupted.

"No, Ms. Vargas, you don't understand-" Kelsi started.

Ms. Vargas was on the other side of the room now, talking to herself. "I could make some of my famous pasta and maybe I could grill some fish or lasagna... Oh, it's almost dinner time anyway." She said as she looked at a clock on the wall.

The door bell then rang a ton of times, as if someone were frantically pressing the button too much.

"We're doomed." Kelsi and I whispered in unison.

Ms. Vargas opened the door while Kelsi and I went to hide. A few seconds later we heard-

"MIKAYLA AND KELSI! GET OUT HERE RIGHT NOW!" Michi yelled. We slowly walked out of hiding, holding hands and trying to give our best 'please-don't-kill-us-because-we-love-you' look. She glared daggers at us and I swear I saw a pit of fire in her eyes. And as Michi had promised, she brought the host club, Mrs. Hitachiin, and...and Ailty and Luke! I was really happy to see Ailty, but felt guilty seeing Luke ever since that time...

I accidentally made eye contact with Luke and I immediately looked down. "This is by far the craziest thing you've ever done! Tell me now, what possessed you to catch a plane here!?" Michi asked us. I painfully looked at hikaru, who looked as though he hadn't slept at all.

"We...we missed our home in California." Kelsi and I answered together, not wanting to let michi know the real reason. She sighed after a few moments. "Okay, look girls, you can't just...just run away like that! I was really worried!"

"We're sorry..." Kelsi whimpered.

Another heavy sigh from michi.

"Oh, okay, get over here ya little butt stains." Michi said lovingly, opening her arms for a hug. We hugged her and looked at ms. Vargas.

"Um...ms. Vargas...We're sor-" I began, stopping to look at the old woman.

"M-ms. Vargas? What are you doing?" Kelsi asked.

Ms. Vargas stood before us, dancing around wildly and singing.

"Dancing the Italia food dance! Or as you youth say it, I'm shaking my tushy so my food will taste good!" She smiled.

A/N- I had to make an Italian character! XDD I've been recently watching a lot of an anime called Hetalia and I immediately loved italy! hope to see you next chapter! ^-^
