The Betrayal and the Payback

By Zero Flower 333

AU Fourth year. Lily abandons Snape not only because of his "practicing" the Dark Arts, but also because of her various selfish reasons of not wanting to associate herself with the dirty half-blood boy. With Lily's betrayal and with no true friends to rely on, what should Severus do? Should Snape forgive Lily for her betrayal or dish out revenge and find true love in the process? Would Severus join the Dark Lord or become a better man than the Marauders and Lily Evans combined? Would Lily and the Marauders regret their actions against Severus Snape or will they hate him for being sorted in Slytherin for eternity? Powerful Severus, Major Gryffindor/Dumbledore/Lily character bashing. possible Slytherin/Hogwarts bashing

Sorry for the late update, I had been busy thinking of ideas and real life is harder than I thought.

Chapter Four: Severus Snape's POV, Part Two

-At Gringotts Wizarding Bank

Suddenly, Tuney and I were in Gringotts. It was unexpected, because my normal plan was to not attend Hogwarts, where I was deemed an outcast and a scapegoat. Instead, I would had either killed myself out of heartbreak or I would had become deranged from the treatment I received from the personal hell that was called Hogwarts. Now that I may have a half-relative, I may have to rethink of these plans. I did not expect to be called by Gringotts; they never sent my home any letters. I knew of my Prince heritage, but how can me, a measly half blood, inherit one of the richest fortunes of the Wizarding World? A fortune that was ten times richer than the Malfoys and a hundred times richer than the Potters and the Blacks combined?

I looked up. Tuney looked nervous, like she had been in a wreck or something. Probably not used to the Wizarding World yet or she was nervous of goblins, creatures not normally seen in the Muggle World. Ragnok, the king of the goblins, gave me a bow. I was shocked. In all the years, I had never heard the great Ragnok, leader of the last goblin war, bowed to a human being! I was overwhelmed and I said to Ragnok, "Why am I here?"

The two goblins that accompanied Ragnok said with no expression, "You are here because Tobias Snape is dead. When his wife died because of the heartbreak of disowning his only daughter, who hated Tobias and not Muggleborns in general, Augustus repented of disowning your mother, Elieen, and wanted to leave the entire Prince fortune to her in the event of his death, but the Prince ancient law had many laws that needed to be bypassed. Once the heir apparent had been disowned, he/she cannot be made the heir again, but their child could be the heir, as long as the child was sired, but on condition. The parent who sired the child must die because only when the disowned is dead, along with the partner will the balance be restored. The truth was that Augustus loved muggles, but hated Tobias because of his drunken personality and believed that he was the wrong match for his daughter. We are sorry that we did not inform you earlier; we were forbidden to do so. Severus Snape, you are the last Prince heir."

I was shocked. How could this had happened? It was unexpected and I asked, "So I am the last Prince heir. What do I inherit?" Stupid question to ask, but I was in too much shock. I am glad that Evans would never find this out; otherwise, she would had used all my money to herself, the selfish girl who never cared about me or my feelings at all.

Ragnok, with a smile, said, "Mr. Snape, you inherit everything. Every galleon, sickle or knut is yours for the taking. Even the ten manors throughout the world and Muggle business stocks are all yours. However, the Prince family had some pending debts owed to them, and they are the only family we respect. We goblins respected the Princes, despite their harsh ancient laws, because they helped us when we needed it, unlike other Wizarding families. Here are the life and various debts owed to the Princes. Since you are the last heir, you have the right to call on these debts, but on condition." Ragnok handed me two pieces of parchment, which I took in excitement. Tuney just stared in muted silence.

"What condition, King Ragnok?" I asked. I never expected debts could be worked only on condition. I knew that I do not owe Potter a life debt for saving me from the werewolf; if I had, I would had my magic drained for not acknowledging the debt. But alas, none of that happened, but I am still curious about the condition.

Ragnok said, "The condition of the debts owed was if you wanted a person punished for paying the debt, they must be fully fledged wizards, at the age of twenty , because, according to the Princes, only fully fledged wizards could do anything that was required of them. Their magic core would be stabilized and they would be able to do almost anything without any accidents. Also, the debts could be paid in various ways, be it a wizard's freedom, life, inheritance, or soul, but on condition, based on how the Prince heir, which is you, was treated by the Wizarding World in your lifetime. Unfortunately for you, Mr. Snape, you could only invoke the life debts once you reached twenty, because of the restrictions of the laws of magic, but I will give you some advice. But before that, read the parchment I gave you to look at the debts owed to you.

I looked at the two parchments and I was shocked. The wizards who humiliated me at Hogwarts owed me? Here is the parchments I saw,

The Prince Family Debts Unpaid, Part One

-Black family, three debts owed, unpaid since 1599, when Pollux Black went bankrupted because of the failure of Wizarding stock; second case in 1950, for helping Druella Black with the birth of Bellatrix, who was draining the life of the mother in the womb; third case in 1976, when Sirius Black did a prank on heir apparent, Severus Snape, and heir apparent Snape saved Sirius Black from being expelled, thus invoking the life debt, despite Dumbledore's oath, which only swore not to mention the werewolf incident

-Bones family, two debts owed, unpaid since 1799, when Edgar Bones II was saved by his enemy, Lucius Prince, from a troll attack. Lucius died as a result, thus the debt was unpaid. Second case in 1900, when Augustus Prince helped Marian Bones give birth to a healthy child, Edgar Bones IV, without any labor pain

-Crouch family, three debts owed, unpaid since 1099, when young Evelyn Prince saves Martin Crouch from certain death and thus died from saving Martin from a fierce Norwegian dragon, second case in 1566 when Ruby Prince saved Maximillian Crouch from a fierce werewolf, in which Ruby was the fatal victim who died; third case in 1960, when Bartimaeus Crouch became the Head of the Aurors with Augustus' vote of confidence

-Diggory family, one debt owed, unpaid since 1960, when young Amos Diggory was about to be killed by a rampaging dragon, Augustus saves him and Padma Diggory, the mother of Amos Diggory, acknowledges the debt owed

-Dumbledore family, four debts owed, unpaid since 1850, when Brian Dumbledore was about to be expelled by using the Unforgivable on his rival, Indigena Malfoy, Serena Prince spoke up from him, preventing him for being expelled; second case in 1887, when Ariana Dumbledore was gravely ill, Serena Prince made some potions and cured Ariana Dumbledore of her fatal illness; third case in 1930, when Augustus saves Aberforth Dumbledore from killing himself for being thought insane and the death of Ariana Dumbledore; fourth case in 1975, when unlawfully and unjustly made heir apparent Severus Snape swore an unjust oath of keeping a secret when it was not his right to do so

-Evans family, three debts owed, unpaid since 1700, when Jasmine Evans was about to die from childbirth, Severus Prince II saves Jasmine Evans and the child bore in her body; second case in 1954 when Hal Evans had no money to buy a house for himself and newlywed Marigold Evans, Augustus Prince loaned twenty thousand muggle pounds to Hal Evans; third case in 1976, when Lily Evans scorned heir apparent Severus Snape, despite all of his attempts to help her, Lily never cared for the help and even abandoned her one and only true friend for a silly reason, thus creating a debt that must be paid or she would suffer the consequences

The Prince Family Debts Unpaid, Part Two

-Lupin family, two debts owed, unpaid since 1960, when Augustus Prince decided to let Remus Lupin come to Hogwarts, taking pity on his poor condition; second case in 1976, when heir apparent Severus Snape was the victim of the pranks of his friends and did nothing about it; Lupin would had been a target if not for the existence of heir apparent Snape at Hogwarts, thus triggering a debt that must be paid or there would be consequences for Remus Lupin

-Malfoy family, one debt owed, unpaid since 1600, when the Malfoy family went bankrupted because disowned son Tiberus Malfoy, who married a Muggleborn, stole the family fortune before his disownment, thus forcing William Malfoy, the partiriach of the Malfoy clan, to ask Claudius Prince for a part of his fortune because the Malfoy family had no money to support itself from the ruins of a fortune stolen by disowned heir

-Potter family, three debts owed, unpaid since 1400, when Isabel Potter was about to be killed by powerful men who she accidently angered, enemy Sylvia Prince saves her, thus getting killed instead; second case in 1930, when Potter family fortune became bankrupt because of Charlus Potter's support for Dumbledore and his plots, only with the begging to Augustus Prince was the Potter family fortune restored; third case in 1976, when James Potter unjustly dealt heir apparent Severus Snape lots of humiliation and the loss of his only so-called friend Lily Evans, thus invoking a big debt that must be paid or there will be consequences for James Potter

-Pettigrew family, two debts owed, unpaid since 1960, when Peter Pettigrew had no money to support his Hogwarts tuition, Augustus Prince helped Peter paid for his tuition; second case in 1976, when he, along with his friends, treated heir apparent Severus Snape like dirt because he exists, thus invoking a debt that must be paid or there would be consequences for Peter Pettigrew

That was a lot of debts, most of whose families that treated me like scum at Hogwarts. I read and asked Ragnok, "What can you do to help me, since I cannot do anything until I reach twenty years old?"

Ragnok smiled and said, "I respected you, Severus Snape. I know of your time at Hogwarts was unbearable and you never deserved any suffering in that hellhole. I will help you and wanted you to become my adoptive son. How about that, since you and I were both living beings suffering in a world that never wanted us.."

I was shocked and overwhelmed. I said, "Well…"

Sorry for the long update! What do you think of this story?

Everyone will get their suffering done soon, but what can Severus and Petunia do to get revenge before Severus was twenty years old?

What should James Potter, Lily Evans, and the Gryffindors suffer of? Bones family? Diggory family? What punishment should they receive?

Part Three coming soon, sorry for the short chapter!
