I am soo sorry this took so long. I wrote the first part of this just after the last chapter went up and then I had so much work from uni I forgot to return to it. Then when I did remember I couldn't think of what to write. So i decided to leave it for the time being. Then last week I started Digimon Fusion (although I think Xros sounds better but whatever the English dub says I guess) and yesterday I started Frontier again. I woke up with the rest of the chapter and the next all planned out. I was meant to be writing an essay, but instead I wanted to do this.

Chapter Eight

Shinya

Shinya tried, unsuccessfully, to keep a poker face. They had only been back for less than ten minutes and already Kudamon was off doing gods knows what. 'To be fair he was most probably sleeping somewhere' he thought but that was beside the point. There was a Digimon, asleep or otherwise, loose in his house and that set him on edge.

What if his family found him? What would he say then? He could just imagine their faces; Takuya would start laughing no doubt.

"Shinya are you feeling alright?" Aunt Mimi asked when they were all in the living room. His dad had felt the need to put on a home video of Shinya when he was small. He would have been embarrassed if he hadn't been so worried. And the video had his brother and all their friends younger too so that help share the shame. Nearly everyone was laughing at the TV which did nothing to ease his worry.

Tami didn't seem bothered in the least that her Digimon was wondering by himself, she was just on her laptop like nothing had happened in the past two days.

"Just embarrassed." He lied quite well. "I'm going to get a drink. Rex you want one?" He got up from his seat between Zack and Tommy and walked towards the door.

"I'm sure you can handle pouring yourself a drink." Rex commented not taking his eyes of the screen. "Couldn't you walk Shinya?" Rex laughed as the video showed him going backwards on his baby walker.

"Everyone goes backwards first." He defended.

"Sure, sure." Rex laughed.

"Did you want a drink or not? Dude." Shinya pressed which made Rex turned to look at him. Rex raised his eyebrow in question which made Shinya raise both of his in answer. Rex huffed then got up from next to Emi.

"Seriously Shinya learn how to pour your own drinks." Rex joked as he walked.

"He can't. I got all the good genes." Takuya joked to which Shinya stuck out his tongue.

"I can believe that." Rex agreed before Shinya pulled him, rather forcefully, into the kitchen and shut the door. "What? Couldn't you see I was enjoying your humiliation?"

"My humiliation? Wasn't it you that got drunk off brandy?"

"I'm not going to rise to that." Rex said as he poured himself a drink, Shinya just stared at him. "What! I thought we came to get a drink."

"No." Shinya said as if Rex was an idiot. 'He is though' he thought to himself. "And keep your voice down I don't want them to hear us."

"Then don't go into the room next door."

"Whatever. I need you to find Kudamon." He said bluntly. There was time to beat around the bush. His mum had said as soon as the video was over they'd cut the cake.

"Why? Isn't he upstairs?"

"No. He was with Tami when she ran for her laptop. And if he was, do you trust him and Liollmon together. Alone."

"He's Tami Digimon, make her do it. And so what if your room get messy? It would be an improvement."

Shinya wanted to slam Rex's head into the wall. "It's my birthday. You do it." Shinya demanded putting his bedroom key into Rex's hand. Since Nyo had woken up, Shinya had locked the Digimon in his room. For safety. Rex just had to find Kudamon and put them with the rest. Shouldn't be too hard.

"That's getting old. It 's been your birthday for nearly three days." Rex complained. "Fine. I'll check upstairs." Rex stomped off then came back and stole one of the trays of chicken that were on the table before going upstairs. 'At least he took food for the Digimon.'

Shinya walked back into the living to see a five year old Takuya standing on a swing shouting 'Daddy! Daddy! Look at me.' The Eighteen year old Takuya sulked in his seat.

"Always the centre of attention. Right Takuya." Kouji said which made Takuya throw his straw at him. Only it didn't further than his brother's feet. 'Stupid Takuya'.

"Ready to cut the cake?" Mum asked although she didn't really want an answer. As he walked up to the very tasty looking cake he made a small detour to Tami, who hadn't looked up from her screen during the whole episode. He asked her about her missing partner to which she was confused for all of two seconds. She then opened her bag, showed him a small circular cartridge. It took him a while to realise it was Kudamon. Apparently the Digimon went into the cartridge and does who knows what every so often. Tami then returned to whatever she had been doing.

Shinya thought about telling Rex that he had found Kudamon but then thought better. Rex could sweat it out for a bit.

'I could have just asked Tami in the first place and not got all impatient.' He thought then shrugged, 'oh well'.

He told Rex an hour later that he'd found Kudamon in the bathroom and gave him to Tami. Rex spied him with suspicious eyes but brought the lie.

When the night came to an end Shinya was shattered. He wanted to roll into bed and sleep. But unfortunately the universe had other ideas.

He had four Digimon to get out of his room and to their homes without raising suspicion. They weren't small Digimon, no. His friends just had to have hard-to-hide Digimon, didn't they? Oh who was he to talk; Coronamon was no easier in the hiding from people department.

'Why are all Digimon so big?' He complained when he got to his room. Rini and Zack had come with him, the rest where downstairs to avoid raising suspicion.

"Do you have more food?" Labramon asked as he came towards them. Shinya looked around the room while Zack told the Digimon to keep quiet. The room looked like a battlefield. This clothes were scattered all the four corners, all the stuff on his shelf were on the floor, his bed was completely undone and his pillows were slashed.

"What in hell happened here?!" He shouted in a whisper.

Coronamon jumped down elegantly from the window sill and sat on the only untouched part of the bed, its corner. "That device started to vibrate and Dorumon began to snarl as he does. Liollmon didn't like it and they started to fight. Rex came up with food and made them stop."

Shinya looked at his phone, which Coronamon had pointed at. "Rex knew my room was a mess and didn't tell me." Shinya stated but Coronamon took it as a question and nodded. It seemed he wasn't the only person that had kept something. "You know what. It doesn't matter. We need to get you guys out of this room before we get caught.

"We could have them follow the cars." Rini suggested then shook her head. "Or we could make a rope from your sheets."

"You watch too many films." Shinya commented.

"Can't we just leave them here?" Zack asked and Shinya glared.

"I don't want the Digimon to start staring at me when I sleep. It's creepy."

"It's a shame they can't de-digivolve and become smaller like Kudamon."

"Kudamon is a rookie like us." Tapirmon told them.

"We should have stayed in the Digital World." Rini whined as she hugged Labramon. "We've been here two hours and already we've failed."

"Shut up and let me think." Zack said as he picked up book from the floor and began to put them onto the shelf. Soon enough Coronamon and even Dorumon helped him and Shinya felt bad for not helping himself.

"I got it!" Zack said suddenly. "We say they're new toys."

"We're fourteen and you didn't come in with them. How did they get here?" Shinya replied.

"What if they digivolved and flew or ran to our homes?" Rini asked.

"We can't risk them being seen."

"Stop ruining all our ideas Shinya!" She screamed at him.

"May I enquire into the screaming?" Tami asked walking in, her phone in one hand.

"We can't get the Digimon out. You have an idea?" Rini asked and Tami looked up at them.

"Kudamon said the third button on the Digivices allow for the Digimon to be inserted in the Digivices on a temporary basis. In theory it should last long enough for you to return to your homes. However there is a time limit in that they cannot be kept there for very long." Tami explained.

"Well that's a stroke of luck." Zack joked as he pointed his digivice at Liollmon. The digimon was surrounded in purple orbs then disappeared. "How is it?" Zack asked looking into his digivice.

"Roomy." Liollmon answered. "I'm off to sleep."

Rini followed suit and Labramon was soon gone too. The three of them then left to tell the remaining two which left Shinya alone with Tami. He thought of something to say but his mind was a blank.

"When do you suppose would be an appropriate occasion to return to the Digital World?" Tami asked as she did something on her phone.

"I guess as soon as possible. Maybe tomorrow." She nodded and quickly left the room. Rex and Emi came up soon after and took their Digimon.

Shinya kind of felt like a Hotel manager and today was checkout day.

Ten minutes later the house was empty. It was a school night and people had work the next day, well nearly everyone. Takuya, Koji, Koichi and Zoe were elected to clean up the house. Partly punishment for being so late without telling their parents and partly because everyone else had work and school the next day.

Next Day

Shinya woke up earlier than usual the next day. He got dressed, made some toast for him and Coronamon, and then ran out the front door before his parents could question him. Hopefully they found some rational explanation for themselves. It would save Shinya a lot of trouble.

For the duration of the bus ride Coronamon had quietly stayed in the Digivice, saying several times that he did not mind, yet Shinya felt awful and vowed to only put him inside the Digivice when absolutely necessary. Shinya saw it as a cage of sorts, he didn't like cages.

Once Shinya got off the bus, he took the long way to the main gate, which was hidden by trees and overgrowth. Even though it wasn't the way he normally took, it was easier to hide Coronamon. That and it felt rather fun to act like a spy. Checking every corner for a villain. But soon the novelty wore off when he realised he couldn't take Coronamon to school with him.

"Which one is your classroom?" Coronamon asked, Shinya pointed to the top floor classroom. "I could stay in the trees it shouldn't be too hard. The branches look stable enough and there is a lot of foliage to camouflage myself and the other Digimon. Are you all in the same class?"

"Tami and Emi are on the floor below us."

"Kudamon will most probably stay with Tami, which is for the best. Tapirmon will stay with us I assume. I doubt anything could happen in a school."

Shinya only nodded and led Coronamon to the computer room, where Tami had called them all to meet. Why, he didn't know.

The school was deserted expect for the odd teacher. But they were in their classroom or office so he and Coronamon had crouched under the window on their way past.

'It really is like being a spy' he joked to himself.

"You're late." Emi said as he slid open the door to the computer lab.

"Sorry," He rubbed the back of his head, "The bus took long." Emi didn't look like she believed him but didn't comment. As much as Shinya wanted to believe he hadn't inherited the Kamiya trait for lateness, it was sometime a lie. Coronamon wasn't much help either.

"Ready guys?" Rini asked as she threw her digivice into the air then caught it again.

"Digiworld, make way. The Digidestined are on their way." Labramon cried only to be shushed by Emi.

"Let just go before someone finds us." Rex replied.

"Digiport open!" Shinya said as he held his digivice in front of the computer screen. The map on the screen twirled and a moment later he felt himself break into a million pieces of data. When he was finally put together again he was in the Digital World.

"Extraordinary." Tami smiled as she looked down at herself. Shinya looked at himself too, his clothes had changed. Instead of this school uniform he was wearing brown trousers and a red t shirt with a blue jacket on top. He wore red trainers and there was a chain where is digivice hung from on his trousers. Touching his head he felt something chunky, when he pulled them down he saw they were goggles. 'Awesome.'

Rex's uniform changed into black skinny jeans with a grey shirt and black blazer. 'It's the smartest thing he's ever worn'. Rex opened his blazer to show his digivice on the inside. He wore trainers too, 'probably to run easily'.

Tami's outfit had trainers too, but they were purple and very dainty looking. She then had red tights, blue shorts, blue t-shirt and a purple hoodie with a red heart on the left side. Her usual style of a ponytail wasn't present; instead her hair was left free. She looked very different to the usual Tami. Her digivice was latched onto the back pocket of her shorts.

Zack had grey trousers, a cream shirt with a green jumper onto with the image of a lion. It was only an outline rather than with too much detail. He wore purple chucks and his digivice was strapped to the front pocket of his trousers.

Emi wore a brown flats and blue dungarees, which ended at her ankles, with a light green top underneath. There were several bracelets on her wrists and a thin alice band in her hair. Instead of her hair being out as it usually was it was in a fishtail plait ending at her shoulders. Her digivice hung of the belt around her waist.

Rini wore flat too, although they were black. She had thin tights and a light pink dress that ended just above her knee. She then wore grey small jacket on top. Like Rex, her digivice was on the inside of her jacket. 'She looks pretty' Shinya thought but then shook his head.

"I don't like it." Rex complained looking at himself.

"I think you look smart." Emi replied.

"Exactly. People might start asking me questions like I know the answer."

"Where are we?" Zack asked, as he looked around. Shinya looked around and could to see a large cliff face and some trees beside it. He turned around to see lots of sand and the sea.

"See."

"Where at the beach!" Rini screamed as she and Labramon ran towards the water. Tami, Emi and Rex all sat on the floor probably realising that Rini was going to be some time.

"Stop it." Zack cried as Liollmon and Dorumon started growling at each other. 'Not again' he thought.

"Dorumon, come here." Rex called but didn't move from his spot. Dorumon glared at Liollmon once more before sitting beside Tapirmon in the sand.

"We should probably only stay for an hour or so, I think since we were downloaded time will run the same as back home." Shinya said as Tami nodded.

"I was thinking along similar lines." She agreed.

"Get out the water, it's time to go." Emi shouted before anyone could stop her. 'Great, she probably told every Digimon with five miles they were there.'

"But we just got here." Rini shouted back as Labramon shouted his agreement.

"Just come on." Shinya said, in a normal volume, and Rini huffed, splashed some water on Labramon that walked very slowly towards them. "Thank you."

"Where should we start?" Rex asked.

"We should probably first look for the crests before taking on the Demon Lords." Coronamon suggested. "If we walk to the top of the cliff we should be able see the surrounding land."

"It's better than nothing." Tapirmon agreed and soon they were walking through a forest once again.

"Tami, where's Kudamon?" Shinya asked, realising he hadn't seen the digimon since last night. It explained why Liollmon was so quiet.

"Sleeping in my digivice." She answered as she moved a branch from in front of her.

"Scared to come out in case I beat him." Liollmon taunted.

"Anytime you want me to push you into the ground, please ask. I'll be more than willing to oblige." Kudamon called from inside the digivice.

"Coronamon, what do you know about the crest?" Emi asked, effectively stopping the argument between the two digimon.

"Do you mean, apart from what Baromon said?" Coronamon asked. Emi nodded as silence fell among the group. "Not much, even though I'm old, I'm not that old. Venusmon once said that the crests were handed to the Legendary Warriors for safe keeping. Everyone except the Warrior of Darkness was given a crest; instead he was given the Tunnel of History to care for."

"As the Digital World has been reset, does that suggest the crests are still in their designated areas?" Tami asked.

"I would assume so but I cannot be 100% sure."

"So we have to walk around the whole Digital World trying to find these Crests. How will we know what they are?" Rex asked.

"Forget what they are, that seems like an awful lot of walking." Shinya complained.

"Maybe we should rest for a while." Zack suggested.

"We've only been walking for ten minutes. You guy's will be fine." Emi said.

"Drill Spin." A digimon attacked making the earth shake beneath them.

"Tami!" Zack screamed as Tami fell down one of the holes. A moment later she said she was okay.

"Who's there?" Rini asked as she looked around. A moment later Rex fell down another hole. "It's picking us off."

"Don't worry, Rex. I'll get you out." Dorumon called as he looked down the hole is partner was in.

"Worry about not falling down yourself. Get away from the edge."

Shinya looked at the floor, seeing it shake. He could see the faint line of upturned land, which showed where the digimon was going under the ground. It paused just between where Zack and Emi were standing. "Move!" He shouted and they jumped away just in time.

A purple mole like digimon came up from the ground and Rini aimed her digivice at it before it went back into the ground. "Drimogemon. A Champion data type digimon. Attacks: Drill Spin, Crusher Bone and Mole's Claw."

"Great, a giant mole." Zack deadpanned.

"Coronamon, let's go." Shinya smiled as Coronamon nodded.

"Coronamon digivolve to... Firamon."

"Crusher Bone." Drimogemon attacked, sending a giant bone at Firamon, crashing him into a tree.

"Flame Dive." Firamon attacked, but Drimogemon had already dug himself into the ground.

"Ready Tapirmon?" Emi said.

"Tapirmon digivolve to... Darcmon."

"Dancing Sword." Darcmon attacked the ground, making the digimon come to the surface.

"Why are you attacking us?" Shinya asked. He wasn't about to let them continue to attack if the Digimon hadn't meant to harm them.

"You are trespassing." Drimogemon answered.

"Does this happen a lot?" Zack wondered aloud.

"We were only passing through." Shinya replied.

"Trespassers must be eliminated."

"Oh boy." He whispered as Firamon sent a Fira-Claw. "Look if we can get out friends, we'll gladly leave." He shouted hoping the digimon would accept.

"How can I be sure?" Drimogemon asked. Shinya aimed his digivice at Firamon who de-digivolved back to Coronamon. Emi did the same for Darcmon.

"You're the only Champion level digimon here. I don't want to have to fight you." Shinya said.

Drimogemon paused then agreed, "Take your friends and leave before I change my mind."

"Thank you." Rini smiled as Zack reached down to get Tami. Emi did the same for Rex.

"You're digidestined aren't you?" Drimogemon asked, and before Shinya could speak Tami replied with a yes. "If you continue along this path you should reach the foot of the cliff. There's a TV there to take you home." Shinya nodded as they continued on their way.

"Don't you think that was odd?" Rex asked when they were a fair distance away.

"A little. But it is nice to know there some good digimon around." Emi answered.

"But how did he know about the digiports?" He asked to which Emi didn't answer.

Suddenly there was a beeping on his digivice, when he pulled it out there was a blue dot towards the west. "What does that mean?" He asked showing them the screen. Coronamon shook his head and Tapirmon said he didn't know. Tami said she'd had one on her screen yesterday. Kudamon came out of his digivice to check but even he didn't know. Liollmon made a comment about him being there when they were made but Kudamon only returned to cartridge form and went into Tami's pocket.

"We don't have the time to check. We need to get to school." Zack replied.

"Zack's correct. If we are late, questions will be raised." Tami agreed pointing to the other way than the blue dot on his screen.

"But if it's important should be not check it out?" He asked.

"We agreed we'd only stay for an hour." Tami reminded him.

"But, important." He mumbled.

"Oh god. If it's that important we'll come back tomorrow. Or after school. Calm down." Rex huffed as he walked towards the digiport. When Emi and Rini followed, the remaining three had no choice but to follow.

"Digiport open." Rex called and they were all back in the computer lab.

"We'll go into the trees." Coronamon called as he climbed out of the window. Liollmon, Tapirmon and Labramon followed.

"Can you bring some food?" Dorumon asked to which Rex nodded.

"We can all depart for my home after school if you so wish? My parent will but be home until late so we will have time to explore." Tami suggested and they decided that was the best idea.

"Meet by the steps after school." He reminded them before they left for their classes.

Takuya

"This is a complete waste of time." Takuya complained as he took the rubbish to the bins.

"We were late." Koichi reminded him to which Zoe huffed.

"They just hate that we have time off and they have to go to work."

Koji turned the page of his book, "It's because we were late."

"Why aren't you working?" Takuya asked as he grabbed the book from his best friend.

"I cleaned the kitchen. Alone."

"You didn't want the help." Koji had thrown a massive fuss about how he worked best alone. They chose to leave him to it, although Takuya still went in to help every now and then.

"We're nearly done anyway. Just leave him." Koichi said being the peace maker. J.P was lucky since he had a lecture and was therefore not made to clean the house.

"Are we still going shopping after?" Zoe asked. Takuya and Koji shared a look, both of them hadn't wanted to go but they couldn't say no. Well Koji had tried but he was trumped by Takuya and Koichi.

"Sure Z." Takuya said and she smiled back at him.

"I can't believe we're going to university." Koichi called as he hoovered the floor. Zoe and Takuya sat on sofa looking at their job well done.

"Seems like yesterday we were screaming at Koji to stop being so antisocial." Takuya laughed to which he got whacked by a cushion. He threw one back in retaliation.

"Stop it you two." Zoe shouted as she pushed Takuya's arm down so he couldn't throw another one. "You're going to make another mess." Unfortunately, stopping Takuya didn't stop Koji.

Takuya saw the cushion coming his way just as Zoe screamed 'Stop it!' The cushion flew off course and knocked one of the photo frames by the window onto the floor. The four of them stared at the offensive cushion and Zoe made a small squeak, "Did I do that?"

"Zoe, what's going on?" Koji asked as he looked towards her. Takuya looked at her too, had she just thrown the cushion away from them. Without touching it. His mind reeled as he thought what this could mean.

He tore off a piece of paper from the notepad then held it in front of him. It stared at it for a long while, willing with everything he had for it to catch a flame. After five minutes it didn't and he decided maybe Zoe's wind power right then was just a fluke. Only the moment he began to relax against the sofa, the entire notepad caught on fire.

"Takuya." Koji said staring at the notepad. Zoe patted the flames away with the blanket beside her.

"I think our powers are coming back." He replied. Koji and Koichi looked at each other before identical orbs of light and darkness appeared in the palms of their respective hands.

"Why?" Koichi asked. "You don't think the digital world is in trouble again do you?"

"I hope not." He said truthfully.

Again I apologise for this taking SO long.

The Legendary warriors got their powers back, yay! But what does that mean for them exactly?

And what was that blue dot on Shinya's digivice? And Tami's in the last chapter?

If you're wondering when the legendary warriors find out that there's a new generation of Digidestined, I can tell you it's before all the crests are activated. I think it shouldn't take too long since they would need the help against the demon lords.
