Thank you all for your continued support! Want to know what would make my day? If some awesome person could create a cover for this…I don't even know where to start to try to do that. Obviously you would get credit and I would want you to put on it that you designed it.
Revenge is Worth Those Three Words
"Your brother is an idiot!"
"Watch yourself sweetheart." One trait of Kol's Caroline was still getting used to was his fierce protectiveness over his family, and that trait led him to flip the switch from comedic and laid back to ruthless and murderous in an instant.
"Why does he always have to go the revenge route? If he just waltzes up to Silas to kill him for me, he's dead! He's going to get himself killed!"
"Ah, but sweetheart, it would all be for you. Isn't that something your type cherishes?"
"What 'type?'"
"Neurotic, blonde cheerleaders who have a self-worth complex."
"Go to Hell, Kol."
"Oh look! Here we are!"
Klaus was pacing around his mansion, trying to formulate a plan to kill Silas when he heard someone approach.
Before the person could knock Klaus was swinging open the door, intrigued.
"Well, well, well, to what do I owe the pleasure of having a Bennet witch at my door?"
"We need to stop him."
"Stop who?"
"I'm not here to play games, Klaus. You know who." Klaus quirked an eyebrow at the witch perturbed by her audacity.
"What makes you think I'll stand by passively and allow you to speak to me like that? I'm still the Original Hybrid, witch."
"Because I'm the one who figured out how to contact the Other Side."
Klaus stiffened as he shot down every hopeful impulse that shot through his body. "What are you talking about?"
"Something's going on, I'm having these visions and the only way to know what's going on is to ask those that can see everything."
"If you're lying to me-"
"I'm not. But I need someone powerful to pull strength from, and the spell works better if that person is connected to the spirit I'm trying to contact."
"And who do you think I'm so connected to?"
"Caroline."
"So explain again why I should allow you to do this?"
"Do you want to see her or not?"
"You expect me to trust you? How many times have you all tried to kill me?" Klaus was not too keen on allowing the Bennet witch to have any kind of an advantage over him.
"You can't be killed, why would I try to pull something?"
"Oh, I don't know, the urge to desiccate me proves too powerful? This is all another scheme by you imbeciles to target the wrong person? The list goes on."
"Look, Klaus, I'm all alone here. My best friend is dead, my other friend is broken now that she turned her humanity back on, and the boy I loved is dead. If this plan works, at least I can put part of my plan back together."
"And explain this plan to me." Bonnie rolled her eyes and sighed.
"I need Caroline to tell me what Silas is planning. If we can figure out a way to stop it, then we can do the Animulus Moritratum spell."
Klaus' interested perked at the name of the spell. "Soul Switch. What does the spell do?"
Bonnie smiled and Klaus noticed the look of hope that shined in her eyes. "If we can weaken Silas enough, we can send his soul to the other side, but to keep the balance of nature, we can take one back."
"What," Klaus had to swallow down the hope from entering his voice, "what do you mean take one back?"
"Everything in nature is balanced, a human life is taken and a human life is given, but when speaking of immortals and vampires, the same rules apply. But instead of waiting for a vampire to be created, we'll just bring one back."
"And which one would that be?"
"Is it even a question?"
It was at midnight when Bonnie prepared to perform the spell. Klaus, the mitochondria of the spell and the link to Caroline, stood in the center of a circle drawn with his blood. At five separate points around the circle candles provided the only source of light in the room. Bonnie began her chanting and Klaus became enveloped in a wave of excruciating pain.
"What is this witch?" Klaus asked through gritted teeth.
"We're trying to contact Caroline, but to get to her you have to travel the path she did. That includes living through her death." Klaus felt his grief flare up at this. His wonderful baby vampire, his only friend, had suffered this wretched death with no one but a puppy by her side.
I should have been there with her.
As darkness swept across his vision, Klaus felt himself change locations. This dark place was cool and depressing, the atmosphere heavy and unyielding.
"Klaus? Klaus! Is that really you?" Despite his surroundings, Klaus smiled. He knew that voice from anywhere.
His vision cleared to see his blonde vampire.
Tear welled in her eyes as she launched herself across the space that separated them.
"How is this happening?" She asked, tears causing her voice to crack.
"I needed to see you, love. You left without saying goodbye." The pain of her death was worth seeing her smile.
It's been a while. What can I say? Life sucks and then it sucks some more. I can't promise any kind of schedule for updating. When bad things happen I get inspired to write. Honestly though, I'm done with the show so my Klaroline feels have been hiding in my happy memories before Klayley and that horrid spin off.
I will try to update Fear soon, since I do love that story and I put effort into that one. This drabbly thing is just easier to update.
Until next time.
