A Narnian Tale

Chapter Four
The witch's army began charging forward, and the gryphons swooped down grabbing large rocks and launching them at the enemy.
"Look to the sky" Otman, the minotaur general shouted.
"Are you with me?" Peter asked, looking at Orieus. The centaur nodded.
"To the death!" He said firmly. Peter pulled down the visor on his helmet and raised his sword high.
"FOR NARNIA, AND FOR ASLAN!" He shouted. The Narnians roared and they charged towards the oncoming army. Serenity stood with Edmund up on the mountain, readying the archers. Her eyes flashed and in a burst of light she transformed into Sailor Cosmos.
Back at the Stone Table, Lucy and Susan woke up after sleeping near the fallen lion.
"We should go" Susan said sadly. She helped Lucy up and the two of them began walking away. Suddenly there was a loud crack, causing Lucy to slip and fall. Susan turned to see that the Stone table was cracked in half and Aslan's body was gone.
"What happened?" Susan asked fearfully. Aslan suddenly appeared before them in all his glory.
"ASLAN!" The two girls ran towards the lion and placed their arms around him. He laughed happily.
"We saw the Witch, the knife" Susan said, pulling away, confused. Aslan looked at her gently.
"If the Witch knew the true meaning of sacrifice, she might have interpreted the Deep Magic a little differently. For she would know that if a willing victim who had committed no treachery died in a traitors stead, the Stone Table would crack and death itself would begin to unwind" Aslan explained.
"Serenity sent the word that you were dead. Peter and Edmund would have gone to war" Susan said worriedly. Lucy drew the small dagger out of her belt.
"We have to help them" She said, determined. Aslan used his paw to lower her hand.
"We will, but not alone. Now, climb on my back" Susan and Lucy did as he asked. "We have a long ways to go and little time to get there. And you might want to cover your ears. ROAR!" He roared loudly and the girls dutifully covered their ears.
The battle was raging on and neither side was winning. The witch though was turning Narnians to stone, left and right.
"Fall back! Draw them to the rocks!" Peter commanded. Cosmos nodded at the signal and raised her hand. A flaming arrow shot out of it and hit the ground. The flames separated the two armies but with a flick of her wand, Jadis evaporated the fire.
During the battle, after a swipe at Peter, he fell off of his unicorn. Orieus saw this and charged towards Jadis with a rhino in suit. Peter saw what would happen.
"Stop!" He shouted. They didn't stop and the witch ducked, turning Orieus to stone with Otman killed the rhino.
Aslan took the girls to Jadis' palace. Inside, Lucy found a frozen Mr. Tumnus and began to cry. Susan put an arm around her. Aslan walked up and breathed on Mr. Tumnus, and the stone slowly cracked, returning Mr. Tumnus to normal. He fell forward into Lucy and Susan's arms
"Susan this is..." Lucy began.
"MR TUMNUS!" Susan exclaimed. She hugged him and they turned to see other stone creatures restored to normal.
"Come, lets search the castle - others may still be trapped inside and Peter will need all the help he can get" Aslan told them.
On the battlefield, Peter was sure the only outcome would be death. He was worried. He turned to Edmund.
"Ed! There are too many of them! Go! Get out of here! Get the girls, and get them home!" Cosmos heard him and though she hated to admit it, perhaps Peter had the right idea. She could help accompany the girls and Ed home and then return and finish this.
"Come on, Ed" She said, reaching for his hand. Ed saw the Witch stalking towards Peter with the wand in her hand. Peter was too busy fighting her minions to notice. He broke away from Cosmos and began running. He reached the Witch just as she raised her wand at Peter. He sliced through the wand with his sword and was stabbed with the remainder of the wand by Jadis. Peter turned in time to see Edmund crumple to the floor.
"Edmund!" Peter shouted. He headed for the witch but Cosmos appeared in front of him.
"Take care of Edmund" She whispered. She shot a fireball at Jadis who sneered.
"Is the princess too scared to fight that she has to hide behind her powers?" Jadis asked. Serenity grimaced and clenched her fists. She reverted back to her princess form, a sword in her hand. Jadis grinned and they began clashing swords. Suddenly, there was a loud roar on the mountain top. Jadis and Serenity turned to see Aslan and all the narnians that had been turned to stone.
"Impossible!" Jadis said. She noticed that Serenity was distracted by the appearance and used the opportunity to attack her. Serenity countered the attack, but Aslan arrived and mauled the witch, allowing Serenity a breather. Aslan turned to Serenity.
"It is finished" He announced.
"Where's Edmund?" Susan asked. They found Peter weeping over Edmund who was struggling to breath. Lucy pulled out her cordial and placed one drop on Edmund's lips. but it seemed to be too late. His body stilled. Serenity knelt beside Edmund and placed her hands on his chest. She breathed into his mouth slowly and The Pevensie's watched as her dark hair got lighter and lighter until it turned silver. She collapsed next to Edmund. Edmund coughed and slowly sat up. Serenity opened her eyes and smiled at him.
"What happened?" He asked. Aslan walked towards the group.
"The princess has given you a great gift. She has given up her immortality and power to save your life, Son of Adam. This is not a gift to be taken lightly" Edmund looked at Serenity in surprise.
"Why would you do that, for me?" He asked. Serenity smiled.
"Because you deserve to live" She said. "immortality is overrated anyway. Perhaps now I can live in peace" She glanced at Aslan.
"I have one question though. Will the child I bear have the immortality of the crystal?" She asked.
"Yes" Aslan replied. "The crystal is still within you and will be passed on to your children"
"I see" Serenity said. She stood and smiled. "I'm glad its over"
