Chapter Six
2000 years later
Twelve year old Prince Caspian knew that he shouldn't be sneaking around in the dungeons of the castle, but he had heard the rumors that a young woman was being held captive down here. It was said that she was a goddess who had crossed the telmarines and they had chained her.
"Hello" He whispered in the darkness.
Luna was sitting in her cell, forlornly. She wasn't sure how long she had been there. She only hoped that Artemis was still alive. When she heard he whispered greeting, she shot to her feet and made her way to the bars.
"Is someone there?" She asked cautiously. A figure in the shadows approached. The moonlight through the small window shined on him and she saw that he was dressed as a Prince.
"Are you the goddess, being held captive?" The boy asked, staring at her in awe. Luna smiled, despite her pain at being locked away.
"I am not a goddess child" She said. "I am a true Queen of Narnia and a Princess of the Moon"
"Are you immortal?" Caspian asked. Luna shook her head and reached her hand through the bar grasping his.
"It isn't safe here" She said quietly. "You must leave..." Suddenly her eyes glazed over and her voice changed. "Prince Caspian of the Telmarines, your life is in Grave danger. If you do not leave the castle immediately, you will die" Caspian was scared, and Luna suddenly reverted back to her normal self. "Are you alright?" She asked. Caspian shook his head and told her what had happened. Luna paled.
"The King has had a child. He wants his son to rule" She said. "To do that, he must first get rid of the rightful heir, you. For your safety, you must flee"
"I'm going to get you out of here first" Caspian said firmly. He slipped away into the shadows. A few moments later, he came back carrying a set of keys. He fumbled for a moment, before unlocking the cell. He also unlocked the chains that bound her.
"Thank you, young Prince" Luna said. With a wave of her hand, she was dressed in clean white slacks, white boots, and a white blouse with a silver corset. Her silver hair, which was dirty, was clean and in a single braid down her back.
"Why didn't you do that before?" Caspian asked, amazed at the show of power.
"This cell was created to bar me from using magic" Luna replied. "The first Telmarine King received help from an evil witch, whom he later executed. Now, come, we must hurry"
Caspian and Luna slipped out of the castle and rode away on the back of Caspian's horse, Destrier. Looking back, they saw fireworks light up the sky. As they rode through the forest, a storm started and a crack of lightning hit the ground near them. This startled Destrier so much that he bucked them off and ran. Luna stood and grabbed Caspian's hand.
"Let's go!" She said urgently. They heard the alarm sound from the distant. Luna's disappearance had been discovered.
Telmarine soldiers rode towards the woods. Luna and Caspian ran, trying to escape the soldiers. One of the soldiers threw a knife and it lodged itself in Caspian's leg, causing him to fall.
"Caspian!" Luna shouted. She looked towards the oncoming soldiers, not even noticing a door in the tree on the right open. Two dwarfs stepped out and noticed Caspian, who was staring at them in horror. They were about to move, when Luna began speaking in a strange language.
"Eorðe, lyft, fyr, wæter, hiersumaþ me.Eorðe ac stanas hiersumaþ me. Ic can stanas tobrytan. Hiersumaþ me" The ground began to shake and crumble beneath the soldiers and they were left with nothing other than to retreat. Luna turned to face Caspian, whose face was scrunched up in pain. She glanced at the dagger.
"I'm going to have to pull it out" She said. She pulled out the dagger. Caspian winced in pain and then fainted. One of the dwarfs, Trumpkin, saw one of the soldiers had returned and was aiming a crossbow at Luna. He ran towards the soldier and knocked him off his feet, knocking the sword out of reach. Two more soldiers appeared and Trumpkin was captured. Luna shook her head and waved her hand causing a horn to appear. She blew on the horn.
" No!" Nikibrik shouted and hit her over the head with the flat of his axe, causing her to black out.
