OMG so sorry about not writing I have been in England for a week and then I had to go to my grandmothers because both my parents were out of town! So sorry, anyway here is the 14th chapter!

Chapter 14

Percy P.O.V

"It's Annabeth… she-"

"She what?" yelled Marie.

"She's injured… badly." I told her my voice cracking. I started walking towards the infirmary thoughts rushing through my head. We still need to deal with the titans, but I'm pretty sure that they won't bother us for a while. My head spun with thoughts about battle plans, Zoe, Marie, even Nico. I couldn't focus on the situation at hand really. Then my thoughts turned to Annabeth, she had always been a great person- until Luke died that is. She went off the deep end, because her one true love died. Sure she loved me but more as a brother. That's why it always felt different being with her than Zoe. I love Annabeth but she is more like a sister. I'm in love with Zoe.

"Percy!" Marie exclaimed.

"What?"

"How bad is it?"

"She has a really deep cut near her heart."

I looked towards my sister and saw that she had a tear rolling down her left cheek. She always seemed very strong, never letting anything get to her. But, for the first time in a while, I saw the crack in her strong façade. To most people she was a girl that was hard as rock and tough as nails, but the truth was she was still just a little girl lost in her own world.

I put my arm around Marie and she leaned into me. We walked towards the infirmary ready to see Annabeth.

"We're trying but I don't know if she is going to make it." Said one of the healers.

"What do you mean you don't know!" screeched Marie. She looked like she was about to kill someone.

"Marie calm down," I said softly.

"Calm down. Calm down," she said in a dangerous voice, "Percy. You never tell a woman to calm down! Like ever!"

I pulled her out of the infirmary before she could continue screaming. As I started to pull her away from the infirmary all together I saw Nico.

"Nico come here!" I yelled as loud as I could. He walked over and I could see him about to question why I called him over, but then he saw Marie. No need for explanation.

"Hey Marie what's wrong?" he asked her softly.

Annabeth I mouthed to him. He shook his head in understanding.

"Come here Marie," he said as he pulled her into his arms. It was quite cute to say so myself but Marie was still my sister so it was kind of weird.

I left them to "have their moment" in peace. I really need to find Zoe…

"Grover!" I screamed towards the satyr.

He turned towards my direction and smiled "What's up man?" he said.

"Marie is stressing like crazy over Annabeth! Not saying that I'm not worried about Annabeth but she is going crazy! I don't know what we would do without Nico."

"Oh Gods is she worse than that time all her clothes turned pink?"

Grover spoke in joking tones but the time the Aphrodite cabin got revenge on Marie and Thalia it was horrible. Marie and Thalia thought it would be funny if they went and painted the inside walls of the Aphrodite cabin an ugly greenish brown puke color. It was pretty funny but it was even funnier when Karma took a kick back at the two girls, and all of their clothes were dyed pink by the one and only Aphrodite cabin.

"Yah it's even worse than that."

"Well good luck man, I'm off to the Chaos Camp in Texas!"

"What? Why?"

"I'm off to live a life in the country. I need to be closer to nature and I have heard that the Rolling Hills are absolutely beautiful!"

"Yah alright man, say hello to Jackie for me!"

"I will! Is she still running the camp?"

"Nah she 'retired'. She's been working the head position for fifty years so she gave the position to her second in command."

Jackie is a good friend of mine, but I hadn't seen the calm-headed brunet in forever. According to Grover, she was an amazing friend when Juniper passed away.

"Well anyways this time I promise not to wait a thousand and one years to get in touch with you."

"Ha ha, see you soon, Grover."

"Bye, Percy!" Grover said with a wave over his shoulder as he took off.

"Hey, how is she doing?" I carefully asked my sister.

"Not good…"

"Oh ok."

I sat down in the chair next to my sister. I know this may sound cruel but Annabeth will probably be happier in the afterlife. She just went downhill after Luke died and I think it was because he was the first real family she ever had. It was too much to cope with.

A son of Apollo, who had become part of Camp Chaos, came out of the main center of the infirmary. "Hello, my names Mark, I have been trying to help Annabeth but she doesn't seem to want to be helped. Her condition it getting worse she has about an hour left. She would like to see you."

"Sure." Marie and I said together.

We went through the tent flap and there lay Annabeth, very pale and visibly dying.

"Hey guys." She said in a voice so weak I could barely hear her.

"Hey Wise girl, how are you?" I said softly.

"Not so good but that's ok. I can finally see some of my half brothers and sisters who died in the war. Maybe I can be reborn, yes… that would be nice"

"No," Marie said with urgency, "Annabeth don't give up!"

"I'm not giving up; I'm starting over," she explained wisely, "A new chance to maybe be someone else. Maybe not be a half-blood… have a normal life. Though I want you two too know… it will be ok. Just… promise me… too never let… anyone… make the… mistakes… I did.

Annabeth's voice was cracking… she was dying.

"We promise," said Marie.

"Pinky… promise?" Annabeth wheezed out while carefully sticking out her pinky finger. Marie smiled and giggled a little.

"Pinky promise." Marie spoke with an air of truth, her face scrunched up trying to keep from crying.

Annabeth closed her eyes and with a little smile went still.

Marie and I stood up and left; her leaning on my shoulder holding my hand.

That night we honored her death. I don't remember much but I know that there were a lot tears. Though she may have done some wrong things she died a hero. Truly if she hadn't done all that she did, I never would have found Zoe so… truly the last amazing 1000 years was all Annabeth's doing. Thank you Annabeth.
