Kidnapped
Levy's POV
The first thing Levy noticed when she woke up was her headache. It felt like her brain was trying to bang its way out of her skull and she held both her hands to her head as she tried to calm down. She sat up quietly and looked around to see where she was. It didn't help much. She had absolutely no clue where she was, or where she was going for that matter. The only thing she was certain about was that she was on a moving train, and that it was freezing. She stumbled up from the cold wooden floor and moved closer to a bolted window. She peeked out and was taken aback when all she could see was white snow. Snow? But... it's mid-summer? She tried to remember what had happened but she only had vague memories, a mission with Jet and Droy, an attack, dark figures leaning over her, the smell of chloroform and alcohol, the sound of coins. Her head started to pound even harder when she tried to think so she lay down in one of the seats. The carriage was empty and dark. All the windows were bolted and the only way in or out was a huge metal door, that was bolted as well.
All of a sudden the metal door was slammed open and three huge guys came in and started moving towards her.
"I see you're finally up!"
She knew right away that these guys weren't there to take her home.
"What do you want?" She tried to sound calm but the odds of her winning against three guys were slim, especially since she felt weak and drained.
"Don't worry," one of them said with a sly smile, "We're not going to do anything to you, we're just escorting you,"
"Escorting me? Where?" she hissed
"You don't need to worry about that, princess, we'll be there soon enough," another one of them answered and leaned closer to her.
She felt her back press up against the window behind her and her head was still pounding. She lifted her palms in front of her face and said: "Script Magic Fire" as loud as she possibly could. Nothing happened.
The three guys laughed a weary laugh and shook their heads as Levy's eyes turned wide and confused.
"Wh-what?" she muttered and tried saying the words again, even louder this time.
"It's not going to work so just give up already,"
"You see, we used this little guy to drain all of your magic," he held up a little black tool, it kind of resembled a taser, but apparently it sucked the magic out of you. She remembered reading about those a while back, but they had been banned pretty quickly.
"Give me back my magic right now!" she screamed and yanked her body up on her knees.
"Calm down, it'll return in a while," he huffed and waved the other guys with him as they left out the door.
"Where are we going!?" Levy shouted after them and tried to reach the door before it closed.
"It's a surprise.." the sly whisper sent shivers down Levy's spine and she sank down in front of the door as she heard it lock from the outside. Now what?
A few more hours went by and Levy sat completely still looking out the window as the snow swiftly fell down and blended with the already thick layer of snow in the forest outside. She tried to remember what had happened. How long had she been on this train? How many days had it been since the ambush with Jet and Droy? Where they alright?
Was anybody looking for her?
Team Natsu's POV
"Erza! Gray! Happy!" Lucy yelled when she saw her friends standing just ahead of her looking pretty lost.
"Lucy!" they all replied stunned to see her.
Happy flew right into her warm chest and buried his nose in her sweater as he cried like a kitten with his face full of tears. Lucy smiled and hugged her arms around the blue cat.
"Are you alright?" Erza asked, "Where is Gajeel? And Natsu!?" Lucy didn't have time to answer before the two dragons in question came sauntering up behind her.
"Sorry I just ran off like that, but I found Lucy!" Natsu hid behind Lucy's back and smiled nervously to her.
"I should kick your ass for just running without telling us, but I guess the most important thing is that you found them," Erza looked over at Gajeel who hadn't said a single word yet.
"Are you ok?" she asked
"I'm fine." He concluded.
She just nodded. She understood how he must feel. She figured they hadn't found Levy yet so she didn't ask about her, it would probably just upset him.
"What now? Do we have a plan? Any clues?" Gray asked and looked over the map again to see if there were any obvious placed to start searching.
Lucy's head dropped and she looked back towards Gajeel how also stood with a bowed head hidden under his black hair. He suddenly spun around and left.
"Gajeel…" Lucy muttered and was about to follow him when Natsu laid his hand on her shoulder with a shaking head.
"We should leave him, no one can talk to him when he's like that," he said and tried to pull Lucy back into his arms, but she shook him of carefully laid her hand on his cheek and smiled.
"I'll be right back," she said and went after Gajeel.
Levy's POV
Levy went around the train to try and find some sort of escape possibility but it seemed like the door really was the only way out without her magic. Come on Levy, you're a Fairy Tail mage for crying out loud! You're supposed to be able to take care of yourself! What would the others do in a situation like this?
"Well, Natsu would probably burn the place down and go on his usual rampage to kill the people who did this" she sighed
"Lucy would use her sexiness to seduce the guys to let her go, and then have Taurus beat them all," she smiled while picturing it.
"Gray and Erza.. Same as Natsu, but with ice and swords.."
"What about Gajeel?" she felt her heart skip a beat when his face popped into her mind. She raised her hand to her chest and felt how it pounded against her palm. Was he looking for her? Was he concerned at all? She secretly hoped he was going a little crazy.
Team Natsu's POV
Gajeel's had sat down in the middle of a park near a river. He sat on a bench with both his elbows on his shaking knees. He had his head bowed down as he waited for Lucy to say something. He tilted his head slightly towards her and raised his brow.
"Aren't you gonna say something?"
"I don't know what to say," Lucy stood behind him, she knew he had sensed her following him and she stepped forwards and laid her hand on his shoulder.
"I'm sorry," she whispered
"I know," he said, "I just feel so useless. I have no clue on where to start looking for her and for each minute that passes by she could be in danger, or starving or already…" he covered his mouth with his fist, he couldn't bring himself to even think like that, he couldn't just give up hope.
Lucy came around and sat down next to him without a word. She held her head up and watched over the park, the children playing, dogs running around and behind the hill the sun was about to go down. The orange lighting was beautiful, but she felt nothing but emptiness. She had no clue on what to say or do to make Gajeel feel even a little better, but she knew it was a bad idea to leave him alone.
"You know.." Gajeel mumbled, "I saw you with that fiery bastard last night on the balcony." he said with a hint of a smile.
"Wh-what?" Lucy stuttered.
"I know you said all that stuff about you being scared to tell him how you feel, but after hearing what he said to you, I don't think you really have to worry about it too much," he straightened his back up and turned his body to Lucy's. He grinned when he saw her red face.
"I think you should tell him how you feel before it's… to late,"
Lucy looked at him; she looked at the Iron Dragon Slayer and couldn't help but to feel a little proud of him. It really was admirable how far he had come since the first time they'd met. She could still remember how scared she was in Phantom's guild and how much she had whished for Natsu to come and save her from that terrifying dragon.
When she looked at him now, all she saw was regret and sadness. Not anger or hate, maybe a little bit but mostly he was just broken. Heartbroken. To think that underneath that once cruel and, to say it as it was, evil dragon there was such a caring and nice guy. Who would've ever thought that?
"You're right," she finally said, "I will tell Natsu how I feel, but not yet. I'll do it when you tell Levy the same thing,"
"But," Gajeel started
"No buts," Lucy stood up and reached out her hand to Gajeel, "We will find Levy, I promise. No matter what, we're not going home without her!"
Natsu's POV
Natsu stood hidden behind a restaurant and watched as Lucy spoke to Gajeel. He hadn't been able to shake the feeling that he should follow her, just in case something happened again. He had already told Lucy he would never let her out of his sight again, and he was the kind of guy to keep such promises. And he was dying of curiosity. When did Lucy and Gajeel become such good friends anyway?
He tried to hear what they were saying but they spoke too quietly, speak up for god's sake!
He could only guess what they were saying but he thought it was probably about Levy. Then all of a sudden he saw Lucy's face turn completely red and she raised her hands to her cheeks.
"What's that all about?" he mumbled quietly and sharpened his ears even more, but still nothing.
What exactly were they taking about? Why was Lucy blushing so hard? Was Gajeel hitting on her!?
"What the -!?" Natsu tightened his fist and narrowed his eyes to see clearer. Why was Lucy suddenly smiling and reaching out her hand?
Natsu felt a smoldering fire burning in his gut, but not the good kind. His hand was getting blood burst from his hard grip but all he could focus on was Gajeel taking Lucy's hand and standing up to give her a pretty friendly hug.
"Ok let her go now! Let her go you friggin asshole!" his growling voice was so husky and deep that it would be hard for anyone to understand what he was saying.
"Na-stu?" Happy came flying behind him
"Natsu?" he tried again and flew in front of his face. What he saw really scared him. Natsu's burning eyes felt like they would set his blue fur on fire.
"Natsu!" Happy shook his face but the only reaction from Natsu was gripping the wall next to him until it cracked up a little.
"What's wrong?" Happy asked. Then he turned around and saw what Natsu's was looking at. Suddenly a grin spread across the cat's face and he tilted his head back to his burning nakama.
"You liiiiiike Lucy!" he purred and flew away.
At that Natsu finally reacted and jumped up after Happy, "No I don't! Hey wait don't just say that and leave!"
He looked over his shoulder one last time and saw that Gajeel had finally let Lucy out of his arms. He felt a little sad when he thought about how close the two of them probably had gotten over the past days. He should've been the one with Lucy. He should've protected her and given her hugs to make her feel better.
Seeing Lucy smile like that to another guy, frankly, it made him jealous.
Levy's POV
Levy woke up shaking.
"When did I fall asleep?" she rubbed her eyes and suddenly remembered where she was.
"I have to find a way out of here! I need to get home!"
It was dark outside so she had probably been asleep for a few hours. Had anyone been in here while she was sleeping?
She felt kind of better now, stronger somehow.
There were voices outside the big door and she stood up to hear what they were saying.
"It's been a few hours... maybe we should zap her with this again?"
"This again?" She stumbled backwards, "the magic drainer?"
Did that mean her magic was somewhat back now? This was her chance!
When she heard a key being inserted into the keyhole she yelled: Script Magic Fire! And to her relief her magic finally responded.
The carriage walls caught fire and she walked up to the burning hole in the wall. The rushing snow beneath her didn't look very tempting but she might not get this chance again.
Just as the door handle was turned she leapt from the floor and jumped as far as she could into the white surrounding coldness.
