So so sorry for the late update, I had to rewrite this chapter 3 times before I had good enough, IDK why, but this was a hard chapter for me. :/ not fun. So verse of the day:
Psalm 118:6,7 The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? The Lord is with me; he is my helper. I will look in triumph on my enemies.
Oh, and I got a review about how Aragorn said 'guys' and Legolas said 'kind of.' Sorry about that, I wasn't thinking xD.
Any who, own none of this, (except for the plot) and if anyone has goldfish, I WANT THEM!
(p.s. lets pretend tree beard didn't crush that orc, and the orc was still alive and other orcs were with him, about 4 others... Somewhere, tree beard just picked up Mery and Pip and was off without even noticing all the orcs... once again, I do all this for the sake of the plot. Kk, thought you should know that.)
And one more thing, I decided to post the spoiler, it's at the end of this chapter (that's why I'm doing this long Authors note) it'll be the only thing I wrote in bold down there, so if you don't wanna know, don't read that bit.
Legolas's POV
We walked through Fangorn Forest, with Aragorn leading, Gimli slightly in the back, and me and Annabeth in between them. We didn't talk much, she asked an ocasional question about the forest mostly.
"These are strange tracks." Aragorn had knelt down and was examining the ground. Annabeth knelt down, also examining the ground. We continued on a few feet, but something intrigued her about the ground, and she kept staring. I looked at her, and noticed something had moved behind her. Probably the wind blowing a bush my mind told me, but I still stared intintly behind her.
Suddenly an orc jumped out of a bush, and would have stabbed her, but I shot his sword out of his hand.
She jumped up, knife in hand, but I was already forcing him into the ground with my knife pressed into his neck.
"There were others with you, where are they?" I asked forcibly. The others joined me and glared at him.
He laughed, "Oh, you won't have to search long, they've already found you." He had hardly finished the sentence before Annabeth cried out.
We quickly turned around to see an orc had shot her in the right shoulder, and they were now charging toward us.
"Annabeth, get down!" I warned as everyone got in a fighting stance. She did... kinda, she got down and stabbed the one on the ground, then threw her knife and impaled one orc that was about to slash Gimli in half. I later learned that was one of the few times she would ever listen and do as I say. The orcs were gone now, but Annabeth lay on the ground, her shoulder badly bleeding.
Gimli went and pulled her knife out of the back of the orc, while Aragorn rushed over to help. He ripped a strip of cloth off a corner of his shirt, "Annabeth, I am going to pull out the arrow, ready?" He asked calmly.
"Yeah." She replied.
I grabbed her hand as he grabbed the shaft, and pulled it out, she gasped in pain and squeezed my hand, and there was a lot more blood now, but he quickly tied up her shoulder. As he examined the arrow, he sighed, "This blade had old blood on it, you could get quite ill."
"I've had worse." She said.
He looked at her skeptically, "What do you mean?"
"I've been stabbed with a poisoned blade before." She informed.
"Why?" I cut in, "And how are you alive?"
"You think this is my first war?" She said, "And I know some good healers. Now I'm all fixed, could you help me stand," Aragorn started to argue, but she cut him off, "I thought we were in a hurry?" He closed his mouth.
I decided to let the matter of her shoulder drop, and I helped her as she tried to stand.
She looked a little dizzy, "I'm alright." She said.
She leaned on me to stay up, but was still able to keep up as we continued.
"So..." Annabeth said.
"Yes?" I asked her.
"You think you could teach me the elvish language?"
I smiled at her, "If you wish, but why do you wish to learn it, I do enjoy the way you speak now?"
She shrugged, then flinched because of the movement in her shoulder, "No particular reason." She said.
"Alright then, how about I teach you some now?" I asked, and she just smiled and nodded, "Ok, how about I teach you any sentence you want?"
"Ok, hmm, how about this: 'Don't look for trouble, it will come to you,' " she told me.
"In elvish, that is: Uuma ma' ten' rashwe, ta tuluva a' lle." She repeated what I had said, "Good, now how about I teach you-" I was cut off by a deep… groan? Like a tree bending under it's own wait.
"The trees are speaking to each other." I told Aragorn. "There is something out there." I spoke in elvish so only Aragorn knew what had been said.
"What is it?" He asked.
"The White Wizard aproaches." I told him (in english.)
He nodded slowly, "Do not let him speak, he will put a spell on us." Aragorn warned.
Everyone's hands tightened around their weapons, even Annabeth had her knife in hand. Suddenly, there was a blinding white light, I shot an arrow, Aragorn held up his sword, and Gimli and Annabeth threw their weapons. Gimli's ax got destroyed (again) Annabeth's knife bounced off harmlessly, as did my arrow, and Aragorn's sword became steaming hot.
"You are tracking the footsteps of two young hobbits," a voice said.
"Where are they?!" Aragorn demanded.
"They passed this way, the day before yesterday. They met someone they did not expect, does that comfort you?" The voice told him.
"Who are you?" Aragorn said in almost a whisper, "Show yourself!"
The light disappeared revealing… Gandalf?!
"It cannot be." Aragorn said.
SPOILER TIME!
I need your input, this "book" is the first book in a three part series, so next should Annabeth go into the world of Doctor Who, or Pirates of the Caribbean? I have an idea for both, so it's just the majority of people who want one is the one I'll do.
Kk, that's all, no major spoiler, just that :) I'll try and update again soon, bye.
