I know I'm late, and sorry, but I have to have a cliff hanger. Sorry. :/ So, verse of the day:

"I have made you. I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you." Iseah 46:4

so... Yeah! And how awesome should Annabeth be in the next chapter? On a scale of 1-5 ?

and still need someone who can draw! ( and followers on twitter, follow me and I'll follow you! Forever_writing)

Legolas's POV

Annabeth and I kept ahead of everyone as we walked to Helm's deep. I was in charge of looking ahead for any orcs or scouts, and Annabeth was just walking with me. As we walked, I taught her elvish and luckily she was a quick learner and picked it up quickly. Pretty soon she was almost able to speak a few simple sentences and could understand almost anything if I spoke slowly. I stifled a laugh as she tried once again to make a sentence, and she just glared at me.

"Dolle naa lost!" *your head is empty* she spoke in perfect elvish.

"Annabeth, that was it! You insulted me in perfect elvish!" I beamed. Suddenly my good mood diminished. I could see a scout not to far away, and without a second hesitation, i nocked an arrow and let it fly, hitting it's target right between the eyes.

"A scout!" I yelled to the people behind me. I ran ahead and started shooting orcs and wargs, and all I heard behind me was absolute chaos. Then others came to help fight, and I jumped on a horse with Gimli. At some point in the battle, Annabeth and I had wound up fighting back-to-back. She was using both her knife and sword, and was doing very well. I slashed the orc in front of me and looked at her.

"You should have gone to Helm's Deep with the others!" I said helping her with one of the two orcs in front of her.

We killed the two orcs and she turned to face me, "Ha, dream on bow boy." She threw her knife over over my shoulder with deadly precision, hitting an orc that had been rapidly approaching in the eye socket. He yanked her knife out of his head, and ran off, and after that I didn't see her again. The fight lasted maybe 30 minutes and bodies, orc and human, were littered all over the fields, and I wondered around looking for Aragorn and Annabeth, having already found Gimli and he went a different way to look.

"Aragorn?! Annabeth?!" I called out, hoping for a reply. Suddenly someone slammed into me and we went tumbling to the ground. It was only Annabeth.

"Legolas? Thank gods I found you, I can't find Aragorn." She said getting up off of me and helping me up.

She was obviously worried about him, and she was also out of breath as if she had been running for awhile.

"Ok, relax, we'll find him." I tried to reassure her. We walked around calling his name for a few minutes then we spotted an orc on the ground, almost dead, but not quite. I knelt down next to him, "Where is Aragorn?" I asked.

He made a chuckling sound, "He took a little tumble off the cliff."

"You're lying." Annabeth accused.

The orc opened his hand revealing Aragorns' necklace that Arwen gave to him. He NEVER took it off, even Annabeth knew that. She gasped in horror, then ran over to the edge of the cliff. I killed him quickly, grabbed the necklace, and jogged to catch up. When I reached her, she just stood there, looking over the edge. I followed her gaze, and now I can understand why she's so quiet, at the bottom of the cliff was a river with a fast current. I pulled her into my embrace and we sat there in silence. The king of Rohan walked up to us and looked over the edge.

"We leave for helms deep, the injured ride on horseback, leave the dead." He said to the remaining soldiers. Annabeth and I looked at him, but he just walked off.

"We have to go look for Aragorn, he's alive, I know it." Annabeth insisted.

"You're right, but he wouldn't want us to abandon those who are in need of our help." I said.

She sighed and nodded, and we once again set out for Helm's deep.

-Fast Forward-

We arrived at Helms deep a few hours later, and were relieved to find the others had arrived safely. There was a war meeting about to begin, so Annabeth and I went ahead while Gimli was delayed by Lady Eyowin. The war meeting was dull, had Aragorn been there, much more would have gotten done, and right now, time was not on our side.

"Can't you send for help? There are other lands besides yours? Send a messenger to another city." Annabeth suggested.

"Gondor." I supplied her with a name.

"Thank you, send for the aid of Gondor." She continued.

"Or other elven cities, gladriel would come to our aid." I pointed out.

But the king ignored my comment and looked at Annabeth.

"You have wisdom beyond your years, but Gondor has not helped us in the past, nor will they help us now. We are alone." The king said. He then dismisses us and Annabeth and I walked to the top of the wall, there we could talk in peace.

"Why won't he just listen to reason? Why the Nadorhuan!" (Cowardly dog) She said.

In the distance I could see a horse and his rider approaching, soon I could almost make out the his features, then he looked up, and I laughed for joy.

"You alright?" Annabeth asked.

"Quickly, khila amin!" (Follow me) I said, forgetting that she was still a beginner when it came to elvish. I reached the gates in two minutes, just as they were opened, and in came Aragorn. He jumped off of his horse and I smiled at him, then I noticed how battered and bruised he was.

"You looked terrible." Was all I said.

Suddenly Gimli pushed his way through the crowd.

"Where is he, where's Aragorn," he spotted Aragorn, then hugged him, "bless you, laddie, bless you." He continued.

"You do know Annabeth is going to kill you." I warned.

"Got that right." She suddenly appeared behind Aragorn, "You're late." Her face broke into a grin, "I'm glad you're okay."

-Fast Forward-

The 'soldiers' were preparing for battle, myself, Gimli, Aragorn, and Annabeth included. I approached Aragorn.

(A/N: All the dialogue is in elvish unless I say otherwise.) "They are afraid," I said to him, "and they should be. 300 against 10,000?!" I continued. Annabeth watched, then I realized she could understand every word.

"There is still hope." Aragorn said.

"It is a fool's hope. Aragorn, they are going to die." I said.

(A/N: Back to english)

"Then I shall die as one of them!" Aragorn replied, then I watches as he walked off.

"There's always hope, Legolas, always." Annabeth said.

-Fast Forward-

I held out Aragorns' sword as he prepared for battle.

"I am sorry for my actions, I spoke out of turn." I said.

"You have no need to apologize, mellon." He responded.

Then Gimli walked in, holding up all of his chain-mail, "If we had time I'd get this adjusted." He let it go and it fell to the floor, "It's a little tight across the chest."

Annabeth suddenly peeked her head in,

"Guys, you really should see this." Then she noticed Gimli, "What's with the dress?" She asked.

We ran outside to see what Annabeth was talking about. Approaching Helm's deep was a huge army, but not of orcs, of elves. They marched in and the leader walked toward Theodin.

"We once had an allegiance with men, today we have come to honor that allegiance." The elven king said.

"We welcome you with much gratitude." Theodin replied. "Now is the time for battle, POSITIONS!" He continued. Everyone scrambled to get to their posts on the wall. Gimli, Annabeth, and myself stood next to each other, while Aragorn shouted out instructions to the soldiers.

"What's happening, could you not have picked a better spot?!" Gimli complained

"Would you like me to describe it to you." I said, "or would you like me to find you a box?" I continued with a smirk. Annabeth laughed, but she abruptly stopped when there was an orc battle horn. 10,000 orcs were rapidly approaching, ready for battle.

"Take aim!" Aragorn shouted.

Everyone with a bow took aim at an orc.

"There armor is weak at the neck." I said in elvish. There was silence. Everyone sat there, not knowing who would shoot first, then...
