Morgana smirked, oh this would be too fun! "Hello to you to Emrys!" She gave a mock bow and grinned, though it looked more like she was baring her teeth.

Merlin stared at her angrily 'How did she know?'

"Oh, yes, of course, how could I forget!" She laughed heartlessly, holding on to the one last bit of betrayal she had yet to deal out "Mordred!" She called.

A man stepped forward in her ranks, his blue eyes glinting with malice, his dark cape swirling around him as he walked. As he stepped out of the shadows it became clear he was their Mordred. His boyish features were unmistakable.

"M-mordred!" Leon stammered, he had taken a liking to the young knight and it almost tore his heart in two to see him in that dark uniform, Mordred just smirked, looking too much like Morgana.

"W-why?" Arthur said, despairing for the knight he considered a friend.

"Oh Mordred." Merlin sighed, saddened because even though he had tried to suppress the feeling of friendship between him and the druid boy he had failed.

Mordred didn't answer just sighed, "You know I'm not used to hearing that level of concern for me in that voice. Emrys!" He sneered eyes flickering between Merlin and Arthur. Before any of the knights could ask who Emrys was Merlin stepped forward raising a hand in momentary surrender.

"Just because I didn't trust you didn't mean I didn't care for you. I never wanted you to resort to this!"

"So just letting Arthur murder my love was your idea of caring for me!" Mordred screeched, sounding more and more like Morgana with every passing minute.

"I tried to save her! She didn't want to be saved!" Merlin pleaded.

"I don't believe you." Mordred spat, drawing his sword.

"Oh!" Morgana giggled "Looks like talking's over!" Mordred whistled. Troops of black-cloaked soldiers stormed out of the castle ruin. The small band of friends, no brothers. The small band of brothers were hopelessly outmatched and doomed to fail, but they were knights of Camelot, they sure as hell weren't going down without a fight. Drawing their weapons they created a circle around the most valuable 'item' in their possession. Merlin. Or rather the being that looked like Merlin. Swords outstretched, just one more step and the battle would begin…

"Wait!" The real Merlin stepped out, stalling the inevitable battle for a few precious moments longer. "I have questions, the two main ones being, Why did you switch us, and What measures will I have to resort to to change us back?" He said a kind of power filling his voice, the power was not that of a king, nor a sorcerer, something far older than that, deep and resonate, warning opponents that they shouldn't test him.

But Morgana wasn't just any adversary. She was cunning, and manipulative, and insane. She would not listen to a voice like that, just take it as a further challenge. And that's exactly what she did. Simply shaking her head the witch sighed "Oh Emrys, I thought you'd be more clever than that, figure it out for yourself." She hadn't turned around and saw the widening of Mordred's eyes as he unwillingly gave away information.

Mordred had let his guard down for an instant. Just one fraction of a second and he had given the whole plan away. She should have felt Emry's push on his mind, but he hadn't he had felt so confident in their victory he had let his shield down. He felt as the rush of information left his body, he tried to grab on to it, force it to stay, but it was no use, it was like trying to grab water and watch it uselessly flow through your fingers. Mordred crept through the castle, making sure to keep his hood up, clutching the vial tightly in his hands. The vial contained a potion, enough for two people, that forced said peoples conscience into each other's body. Slowly he made his way to the kings chambers, pausing just outside the door, making sure no footsteps were heard. None were found. The boy murmured a spell causing the door to unlock. On the table was a goblet of wine, waiting for Arthur to stumble in tired and cranky from a day worth of training and council meetings. Pouring the potion into the goblet, he snuck out again careful stick to the shadows. Now it was Emrys's turn.

Morgana gave her signature smirk pacing up and down the hallway. "Oh Mordred! This will be perfect!" she squealed sounding like a small, psychotic child. Walking, well practically bouncing over to Mordred she placed two vials of purplish liquid in his hand. "I'm entrusting you with these. When Arthur comes, and he will, make sure him and Emrys do not find these. There the antidotes, if Emrys gets his power back all hope is lost." She said seriously but with a small smile. "Yes M'lady." Mordred gave a curt nod and wheeled out of the room. Mordred stood in a stone room, almost like a dungeon, where he placed four vials of identical liquid on a wooden table. Poison, antidote, poison, antidote. If they chose the wrong one. He chuckled with anticipation.

Merlin glanced over at Arthur and spoke into his mind, giving him a jolt as he did so.

'I know how to fix this.'

'...You do?' Arthur asked looking at him incredulously.

'Yes.'

'How?'

'Tell you later, get inside the castle, go to what is most likely the only dungeon still standing. I'll meet you there. Can you use magic?' Merlin could feel the tension in his mind when he mentioned magic. Like two parts of his mind warring with each other, Arthur was silent for a moment then thought 'I think so, I'm still very…..raw.'

'I know, just do what you can.'

'You ready?'

'Are you?' Merlin tensed, was he ready? It didn't matter though because he soon heard the clanging of metal on metal. The battle had begun.
